Some people just take a shred of truth, and spread it really really thin. But their lies should be exposed every time someone gets a chance.

Does anyone keep jap cars long enough to find out? We have American vehicles ranging from 2001 back to 1960. Still running. It started in the 70s when the factories started closing as goods were being made in Japan, and continued on. Now it's China and India gobbling up our jobs.
Japanese cars are too good for me - I can't use them up.
I had my Toyota Corolla 16 years, and I still only had 91,000 miles on it. Now I have a Ford. Maybe now I'll need another car in my lifetime - sheez!

It's not an incentive to sign up. They don't need to do that because word of mouth does that for them. It's more like core values of how a company operates and what they believe in.

You're absolutely correct! All these new cars crush like juice boxes/accordians. I rather drive real steel older model cars for 2 reasons: I know how to fix 'em and keep 'em runnin', and I'd be more likely to live in the event of an accident. Now, if I just had the money to restore them appropriately. Oh well, can't have it all.  Cat

We must have been credible at some point in time. After all, we made good incomes because we were paid higher wages, we started MTSOs that were later bought out by the big boys with the big bucks, and we loved what we did and the product we produced. When did we lose credibility? Maybe when the big boys started offshoring? Do you think credibility will be brought back when the big boys bring our jobs back into our own country? Huh? Huh? Huh?
And stop buying foreign cars for crying out loud. sm

They claim they do this out of necessity...
as well as for efficiency because they can't handle all of the required work. I'm curious, though, as to what they pay the Indian MTs. If the pay is extremely low (usually 1 to 2 cpl in India), that says it's mostly for the profit margin. I still have yet to see a company that pays an Indian, Pakistani, or Philippian MT more than that or equivocal to an American MT. It's all about the profit margin.
how much of your utilities have you been able to claim?
My tax advisor told me I could only claim the amount of utilities that equaled my office space. For example, my office space I claim is 20% of my house, so I could only claim 20% of my utilities. The offshore swine get preferential treatment over the US transcriptionists. The screen shows there is work to do and suddenly everything is gone but the bad dictators, and I do not mean 10 jobs, I am talking at least 45 jobs at one time off my accounts just disappeared. I thought about changing my name to hari skrishna for a while so I could get some work, but found another job instead.

Are they easy with a significant amount of repetitiveness? If there isn't...and all they do is talk then as an IC, 7 cents is not gonna pay the rent. If the doc repeats things over and over...then you have a chance.
I had an ESL once who others wouldn't do. However, once I figured him out I found that he repeated 90% of the reports so it was great.
It also depends on platform. If it's in MS Word with an FTP site...great. If they use something like Emdat but don't have the demos and base information correct then your line count goes even lower. Shop wisely....

Can you file a work comp claim
If you are an employee, you can file a worker's compensation claim, and the company has to follow the rules of the state the insurance company would consider jurisdiction. As a former workers' compensation claim handler, MQ is legally bound to have your claim handled wihtout any issues. If you have issues you have the right to go to the state workers' compensation board for assistance.

How very interesting that people who claim NOT to be management seem to know all this is going on?
Out of the 196 e-mails they sent last month with account updates, endless pleas for help until they get new people in place, etc., there was not any real company info. I have been there 3 years and am currently looking to leave. They are hands down the rudest group of people I have ever worked with, in or out of this business. I have had MANY e-mails go unanswered, you are not allowed to IM but they send endless messages about all the work to be done while I am TRYING to work, and forget about ever reaching them on the phone should you need to. I work on numerous accounts that switch back and forth all day long. They want you to shut up and type and will contact you when THEY need something. Let me also add they have tons of ESL docs and very bad dictators in general. The only thing good is that the pay is on time.

It's not BS as you claim. They told me they do not hire PT. I have tried 3 times in 3 months.
I cannot work FT as I have a job at a hospital but they will not budge on saying no PT. I have read all your posts as I have been researching companies and it seems like you think you know more about KS than you do. I worked for them years ago. I only stayed 30 days because they had no work. They insisted on training in-house with them for a week, and then when I got home I ran out of work every day. They only had one hospital account - the rest were doctors' offices. This was about 6-7 yrs ago. Ask lots of questions You know how productive you are and how much work you need. Trust your instincts. One hospital account is not enough for a good MT. I can't imagine anyone is insisting on in-house training in this day and age, but any good MT should be able to connect herself and learn the technical aspects of an account remotely in, like...an hour.

When I first started, they were great. When mgnt changed, it became the almighty $$. I and several of my MT friends lost our jobs b/c they outsourced the work to India, lied about it, said there was no work, when there was work. One account they still have, that I worked on was Vanderbilt University Hospital, which is a HUGE teaching hospital and is the trauma center. How can Vandy be out of work? It is a a joke that they're named DTS OF AMERICA when work is outsourced overseas. You can e-mail me privately if you wish.

I worked for DTS America for about a year. They changed the way they count lines, which caused the pay to drop about 20%. We were no longer able to keep track of our own lines, as they did not provide the software for that. I worked on trauma with quality of 98.5 or better. Eventually, I was making less than $6 per hour. They were constantly running out of work (read giving it to India). They required us to check the queue for work every 15 minutes, sometimes all day long! My state government lodged a complaint, and I was fired.

Offers medical effective first of the month following hire, which in my case was three days, as i started on the 28th of the month.
I am not sure if they are hiring currently, but so far I love the company, and the accounts are not too difficult to learn at all

I currently work for DTS America and for the most part they are a good company to work for. The only gripe I have is we still receive our checks by snail mail (which for me means another 3-4 days wait for my check) and the work volume is currently lower than normal, but that happens with any company at times.
