The only thing I don't agree with is that the posts from management

In Reply to: I don't bash, but I tell the truth and often it isn't - me
would keep me from there. I think they are small enough to be personal. I think they will learn as they grow though to not react so strongly that this too shall pass. I know that a friend of mine who works there is a lead Transcriptionist now and is learning to be a manager as she goes, so not all of them are bought like at MQ and Spheris and the like. I think they are all transcriptionists who have been promoted from what I understand which might explain a lot of why they feel they have to defend the company.

TT Management comes here and posts
As you can see from her post. They are trying to sweet talk us into putting more money in their pockets with VR. A billion lines per hour you'll make! Millions you'll make!!! Come on, you believe 'em, doncha ya??
Sorry TT Management: The MTs are not as stupid and naive as you obviously think we are. TT used to be a good company to work for. Now, only good for MANAGEMENT.
Yep and only management posts CRAP
about VR being great for the MT! You'll make a million lines per hours! You'll be wealthy beyond Donald Trump! You'll feel like you won the lottery!
OK, now go back to counting your money. Only a few of the more naive and ignorant believe your claims, so you can save your breath--or your typing fingers. Hey, I know, why don't you, Management, try living on the money that VR brings in? Then come back and post here. Until then, like I said, go back to counting your money.
Just read the posts on this board from SS Management
It's obvious NOTHING HAS CHANGED AT ALL! Rude, stupid people running this company. That's why they have such a high turnover. They can't keep anyone! Hello! I mean, look, this is a good example of how dense the mgt of SS is: They post awful, rude, childish CRAP on this board and then try to tell you, oh, things have changed, it's not like that anymore. Yeah, right...
It's easy to tell which posts below are posted by TT management
pretending to be MTs... Too funny.
MTs aren't going to post cheerleading posts happy about having their pay cut for the same amount of time/work... It is very time-consuming to correct the mess VR cranks out.
I just love it when management posts on this board.
either since there is no work. LOL too funny.
do not believe anything the lying management posts. They are insane and ridiculous.
xx
Reading some of these posts, I see management is out in full force
trying to run damage control. No MT who just got her pay cut is going to say, yay, who cares if I'm going to be making less money, this great company is still paying slightly more than some of those fly-by-night companies, and I luv my new paycut....
I agree and I am certainly not management.
But I do have to say my direct sup has been really wonderful all the time to me. I probably would never leave, even if I were to give notice, because she always has great suggestions to help me. That is what a supervisor should do, and that besides a paycheck and benefits keeps me from leaving anywhere! There,I guess I answered my own initial question. LOL.
I agree on the management comment
very much so! Everything that the poster put in the post was totally right on! If anything, I think it is more disappointing that DRC would allow themselves to be smooth talked by a company, in my personal opinion, who holds values that are the totally opposite of what I feel DRC has been. I have a nice mouse pad that I was given when I was hired on in the shape of an apple and it says that MTs are the core of DRC. Change the MTs part to money, money, money.
Agree, Just way for management to pontificate to a

Every week a different company has bad posts. The funny thing is that sm
it just goes round and round. How about doing something about it rather than arguing back and forth. I think we all can agree that there are good companies and bad companies but that for the most part they are all pretty similar. Slipping through the cracks? It happens. Be the squeaky wheel and call the company. Obviously they need people if they hire. Perhaps your resume was stuck to another or your message not written down correctly. Perhaps you misunderstood something and need to clarify it. Perhaps they misunderstood something and need to clarify it. If you have chosen to work for a company and did your research, then you have to decide after a month or so if it is the right company for you or not. Transcription is a very small world and these service owners talk amongst themselves. They work on making transcription better not how to burn and tick off the next applicant.
Be realistic. These companies all have good and bad points. The really bad ones are obvious with the paychecks that do not arrive for months and those that continuously bounce checks and those that rip off their employees with fraudulent line counts. But the ones that are constantly attacked on here are the ones that have been around for awhile and will continue with or without you. MQ, Spheris, MDI, Transcend, Transolutions, Keystrokes, Heartland, TransHealth, OSI, Precyse and Cymed are going to continue to hire and fire and have happy MTs and MTs that do not like working for them. The truly bad ones like XXXX and SS, to name a few, the ones that only have horrible posts are the ones that will fade away.
what makes you thing she is stressing? you are the one with urgency in your posts. nm
I just don't get 'worried' out of her posts at all.
Good thing it did end up here. Post about squecky clean posts has already been
:+
Yes, also agree with the posts
below. Worked for Cymed, then SPI, and before that Transcend. Could not make any decent money with either company. Any company that has you switch accounts constantly, problems with their network crashing, poor IT support, bad supervisors, and/or does not pay for spaces, I would not recommend. I got so discouraged with Cymed, then SPI when I could not get a recent line count. I will never work for a company that does not pay for spaces.
Agree with both posts, except the
rating which would be a 3/10 or 4/10 because of low pay on VR and the complexity of the programs for both transcription and VR. Lots of problems with line counts being slow to post (had that with 1 company and our lines never did get straightened out.
Out of work is the story of every day there probably because they send so much work to India and it is much better to support the Indian economy than the US economy, you know (loyal American companies).
Doubly agree on the ROMs - many are really awful and will not help nor communicate with you. (Must be nice to be so independent that you can refuse to help the poor souls who are forced to work for you). If you do get an answer it is abrupt and any phone conversation starts with a chip on the shoulder because you dared disturb their play time with their kids or delayed them leaving to go pick up kids, go shopping or the like.
Agree with both posts below, especially the attitude. nm

I agree with the posts below, I think it is a good company. SM
You do receive good training on the computer. The whole week of training is on the computer. You will start IMMEDIATELY on production with your account. That is my only complaint.
Agree. The real posts will have both pros and

I agree with some of this, especially the assistance thing
I just heard in my state of New Jersey, someone qualified for low income housing and/or some other hand outs because they made less than 50,000 a year - that's right less than 50,000 is now basically considered low income! So, at least in this state, if a family is not making closer to 100,000 you are pretty much hurting. The average couple I know do make around that much and none of us are living all that great. Is it similar in other states? Really curious.
Have to agree with FBI thing...see inside
My brother-in-law is an engineer at Lockheed-Martin. He is part of a group making equipment for the U.S. government. They went to EVERYBODY before this, including neighbors and old friends. We live in a very small town, so the neighbors found it funny yet interesting. It happens in every business if you're working in any type of capacity with the government.
the only "school" thing I agree with is sm
the fact that we need GOOD schools. There use to be a shortage of MTs and now there is a shortage of well-taught MTs. The schools saw this profession as a cash-cow and advertised as they did. They got all the suckers who wanted to do this to just work from home, took their money, taught them very little and it has spiraled down from there.
Now we have influx of MTs who expect it all now, high wages, best hours, best accounts, etc. etc. Only way you do that is through years of experience not when you first start out.
I agree with one thing you say. With almost any company right now, unless you marry the job and
work 24/7 and jump through hoops, dont expect to get the best or be treated the best. They are always looking for the new to use and abuse and thus the circle keeps going. We all burn out being used and abused and they know that so they keep adding new MTs to use and abuse. That is a fact in MT today. I dont specifically know anything about these 2 companies but it is the same at the 2 places I currently work PT. Exact same situation. I have stopped jumping and I dont plan to do that anymore because in many cases, you still go down with the ship when they get an urge to overhire in these larger companies. They dont sit there and pick and choose. You just go down with the rest. Small companies may fiddle more with that but not the larger ones.
Glad you agree but disagree on one thing sm
This is far from a socialist country. Oh trust me, I have many lawyers in my family and you can sue a company who won't hire you if you have disability. These companies are treading a thin wire.
How would someone like it even if they simply had an abortion on their record and a company didn't like that!
Agree. How rude to use that ASSume thing,

agree with absolutely every thing said, and double on the rude staff...nm

Debate is one thing, and posting is one thing,
but this is getting absurd. I think it must be the same person, otherwise multiples who cannot stay on topic?? Why can't you STICK with the subject? The subject of my post was NOT what your cent per line rate was or is - I could care less- and not how much money you made last year, this year, or in your life, but how silly the comment was that your cents per line rate means NOTHING, that its up to you - some fluff like that. That is just so silly. Again, working for the same company, same account, is one going to make more money being paid more per line? OF course! This is so frustrating and really makes me so tired of reading this garbage let alone posting. Its like a nightmare. And also makes me completely believe that the original company must pay peanuts.
good thing it is a temporary thing sm
because people with your attitude don't stay in anything very long anyway. Nobody has to listen to that crap to keep their job.
You don't know me either. you can say old fart all you want (when did 53 get to be old fart....too funny) but at least I am a valuable employee who can get a decent job!
Well for one thing, it would not be a professional thing
to do for any MTSO to have a board to do this as part of being an MTSO involves the ability to identify and hold on to confidential information. Even if a person is a job hopper (which in this business rather than go against you can make you a stronger better MT if you can do just about anything thrown at you), if a person is looking for a job, a company needs to have the MT's permission to contact their current employer. Where one has worked or has not worked is something that is very unprofessional being discussed on a board by MTSOs.
Being a business owner of any kind comes with it possessing what it takes to maintain ethical practices.
Hello Management
Give me a break! You are a supervisor, and I know who you are. Spare us this bologna.
SB
If only more management could be like you!
I'd buy you a drink as well! Thank you for the kind words.
Management again??!!!
kidding. "Excellent program", is that why everyone is leaving OSi, because it is so good??!!!
Management...don't you have anything to do?
If TT is growing by leaps and bounds, how do you have the time to get on here and contradict the truth? You don't like negatives about your company, but you're not perfect either.
I am not management -- I don't even
work for them anymore! You can state your opinion, but you are giving inaccurate information about things such as benefits and whether or not you can use ShortHand. Obviously I wasn't all that thrilled with them either or I would still be there.
lol, I have been an MT for 20+ yrs and many of them in management.

I don't know when the management...SM
was ever great, it was bad 4 years ago when I was there and from your description things haven't changed a bit since then. A bunch of office people with titles, the MTs typing all the work are ignored, avoided and treated badly. We used to call the office in Pittsburgh a kingdom because it was filled with people who never worked past 4:00 in the afternoon, 2:00 on Fridays...never to be heard from until Monday around 9:00 AM.
Not management
I never said I agreed with them docking your pay for errors. BUT, I did say that they only do it if you fall below 98%. Isn't this the norm? Keeping an accuracy rate of 98% or better? So why would you worry about being docked if you maintain 98% or better? They are like any other MT companies, they want quality reports.
Not Management
potatoMT RIGHT ON
NOT management and sorry you could not cut it. nm

Definitely has to be management ..SS
AMEN !!!
I am definitely NOT their management.......
or anyone else's for that matter. I am just a lowly pee-on MT with 6 years experience trying to make an honest living, and get nothing but lies from this company. I am looking for other work, just like the others who have emailed me privately, who also work for them now and are in the same predicament that I am in. Work flow lying is the main problem with this company. They say there is none, but, in fact, there is. They just turn you off. When there is work, why not give it to us??? This question has been asked by us more than once. Lots more companies out there, so we will just keep looking.
Why don't you take this up with management. (sm)
As far as bonuses being offered unnecessarily on weekends, I think they like to be caught up as best they can on Mon morning, unlike a lot of services who get behind on the weekends. I don't think it really has anything to do wtih overstaffing. JMO. I thought there is extra pay for Sat or Sunday anyway, isn't there?
Must be management. They are NOT one of the
best companies, the absolute worst one I have ever had contact with and if you look through the archives there are many, many more who agree with me.
I am not management.
I am a very hard-working, high-producing MT who has as much to lose as the next MT. I, however, am choosing to keep an open mind and know that my work speaks for itself and decided that this new opportunity for me sounds like a good one. More work, job opportunities, and help in becoming an even better producer sounds good to me; guess not to every MT though.
I'm not Management... (sm)
What, you think I'm a *plant* because I'm seeing it half-full instead of half-empty? LOL If you'll go back and read a couple of my earlier posts regarding this whole thing, you'll notice that I worked for MQ (until they were bought out by furrinners) and I've been around for 16 years as an MT - IC, SE, employee -- but never as Management.
All I'm doing is repeating (again) what was explained to the DRC employees in the web conference and what has already been posted here to be read by anyone: If the client requires USA-based MTs, that's the DRC side. Yes, they'll charge more for the USA-based MTs (who will be paid more than the Indian MTs) and it would therefore be in Acusis' best interest to have as many USA-requiring clients as possible. Yes?
(Unless, of course, you're going along with the suspicion that the Indian MTs will be passed off as USA MTs and the clients won't know the difference.) (And man's first steps on the moon were filmed on a Hollywood sound stage made to look like green cheese...)
NOT MANAGEMENT
But I love working for Transcend, what is wrong with someone saying that? They are flexible and do pay very well.
Management
Okay, now I KNOW management is posting here. I am the person who left 3 times. Twice due to medical. HOWEVER, I only made 2 friends at DSG who were not management, neither one is stil at DSG. Both told me to leave a long time ago. Both were treated badly and that is why they left. I never believed them.
Besides anyone who knows that I tried to come back a 4th time would have to be management, think about it!
I took Karen's advice and moved on. I am very happy where I am at and in fact, I am very thankful that DSG did not take me back as I would have stayed there forever and worked a lot longer/harder/dumber for less money than I am making now.
I do not have bad things to say about DSG, only that I was disappointnted that I was told I could come back if openings when my mother-in-law had recoverd and that was a lie or changed minds or whatever you want to say. I would not change the way things turned out. I am very happy where I am now. So THANK YOU DSG! They were good to me 3 times and 3 times I was charmed. There was just not meant to be a 4th time. Again, different people different experiences. Try DSG, don't try DSG no longer makes any difference to me. I will not dog DSG, but I will not defend them either. I hope Lynda's friend moves on as I did. I think she is better off if they did this to her after she stayed with them without leaving like I did for 4 years.
Thank you - no I am not management.
But the happy ones are always accused of being management.
I am NOT Management
I have to say that my tenure at Transtech has been the most pleasant experience I have had with any national company. They do actually care about their MT's instead of just caring about the best way to screw them out of something. They are in a completely different class - and I hope they stay that way.
I am writing this to give encouragement to the disheartened MT's who have been bruised, berated, and battered by unqualified, uncaring, power-tripping people in Management - I have been there, and there is hope. There are good companies out there, and you just have to find them. Most of the people I know have not been fortunate enough to have found the perfect MTSO the first time around. We have job hopped too many times and it's no fun.
I miss the camaraderie of my former jobs in offices - but I make certain to keep up with my old friends, go to the gym, take continuing ed classes, go for a jog during the day, jump in the pool if it's warm, go to luncheons at church, get a massage, etc. It can get pretty depressing sitting in front of a computer all day, then when you get hounded for something that's not your fault in the first place by Management it makes you want to scream.
Job hop if you must. About 90% of these companies truly are awful, and the other 10% don't have the need to be constantly running ads because they are able to retain the BEST MT's, and TransTech is one of them.
I see where some companies have been trashed on here - and rightly so - such that they don't even bother posting ads anymore but they are still desperately hurting for MT's because thankfully MT's are not putting up with the abuse anymore. If you see on any job board, not just this one, companies who constantly have an ad up there most of the time it will be because they suck to begin with, not because they are growing and need new staff. You MT's know the companies I am talking about.
I wish everyone the same luck I have had. Now I am left alone to work, make more money than ever before (outside of the office) because I'm not constantly being harassed by a micromanager.
I would never want to be management, IMO
I would hate having to deal with the clients directly, always having to be reachable, and not to mention trying to keep track of multiple MTs. I'm much happier just straight typing.
