The current paperwork

Posted By: still typing on 2008-10-25

they gave me mentions that very thing and how if the doctor changes Dear Dr X to Dear Bob, if it is not changed MTs don't get paid. This must be a big issue with the docs so they are sticklers on this I guess. So I guess I have no excuse and should not have that problem.

paperwork
Hi, Not with this company, but if they are overwhelemed it will take time -- also, Fed Ex and UPS are recovering from the holidays and may have subsitutes on the routes -- ie -- I live in rural FL and my roommate FREAKED today because she thought someone was in the mailbox -- sub carrier -- they a lot of times are NOT familiar with the route and the BEST thing that I can suggest to ANYONE is to call the company and get the tracking # -- I did it and most are very accommodating and that way you can see if it is in transit -- if it says delivered and a time and its not under a doormat, in the yard, in a mailbox, etc THEN worry
paperwork
Did you get yours via email? How long did it take to receive it? I was half expecting to get it today because everything else went to quickly.........
Paperwork
Yes, I got an e-mail with attachments to print out all the paperwork required. Then, I filled it all out and faxed it back.
I have already gotten a call from their IS to check my computer system, which they did, and now just waiting for the ID #'s from hosp and then IS will call me back to load software into my comp. Heard from them today, said I should be good to go by end of this week.
Paperwork
My God....that was pretty quick...wished I owned my on computer....would apply....
Paperwork?
When did you receive that paperwork?  I've received nothing in the mail at all from Transcend.  From the communications I've gotten, it's just going to transfer over, which I would hope means all of our information as well.  I know they are supposed to be sending us the policy and procedures manual.  Is that what you are talking about?
Can you check you paperwork again
it was Sten-Tel in MA. To my knowledge, they email all paperwork as attachments. That is how I received mine. Most companies don't go through the expense of mailing this. They refer you to their website if you are just inquiring. If you have been hired, they email the info to you.

What you have said does not sound like Sten-Tel in Springfield, MA - AT ALL.
In all the paperwork they sent you there is probably a schedule (sm)
showing payperiods for the year. Welcome aboard.
New hire paperwork
Did you mail or fax back all the new hire paperwork? I had to pay Kinko's $1.50 per page to fax back 15 pages as I don't have a fax machine and don't know anyone who does. It would be nice if they would mail the paperwork and allow MTs to mail it back as opposed to them emailing it and placing the responsibility on the MT to print out several pages and then find a way to fax it all in....expensive if you don't have a fax machine.
In all paperwork sent before hire, probably are

Sorry, meant 'your paperwork'

that does sound like a lot of paperwork...just curious though
I applied for the orthopedic position and was sent an email with 4 pages to download. After reading the info, my computer met only 1 requirement. Did your computer meet all the requirements needed to work for them? CONGRATS!
Ditto here just sent back all my new paperwork!
Good riddance to OSi.
You get paid for the shuffling paperwork.
Maybe it makes up for the motormouths who dictated a full page in 1 minute. Actually if you are a fast (and accurate) Transcriptionist you can probably make $25 to $30 an hour.
I don't remember filling out all that paperwork.

I remember how peeved everyone was about having to do it and I think it was resolved without the background checks, etc. I could be wrong, 'cause that was about 2 years ago and my memory fails me after 1-1/2 days. LOL

I surely would like some truth for a change and not inuendos or plain old hate towards the company from posters. They never really answer the questions posted on where they get their facts, so I question if their posts are truthful or if they just want to cause trouble, or rile everyone up like they have been doing.

I was hired, called by Becky, sent the paperwork, sent it in sm
and waited two weeks for an ID. I have been working for three weeks now and it is great. Obviously, your situation was unique as I came to KS on the recommendation of two of my ex-co-workers and they had no problems either, both with KS for a few years. Get over it. If you want to work for them, call and talk to them. If you don't, move on. Why are you rehashing the same thing over and over. What do you want the outcome to be?
How long does it usually take to get started once you fill out paperwork for MDI-FL? sm.
I filled out my paperwork about a week ago and have not heard from anyone.  Does anyone know how long it usually takes to start with MDI-FL?  Or has anyone had any problems hearing back from there once they said You are hired?
Ugly! Don't know about Rad, but a bud of mine was overwhelmed with paperwork, pay was low, and it
s
I filled out the paperwork and late the same day they called
to setup an interview the next day and I was immediately offered a position.   They have a large account coming on-line very soon and are trying to train several people too, so there may be a backlog.  I was hired 2 weeks ago and start training later this week.
I think the new hires really need to read thier paperwork. They get a ton of it.
sdf
Didn't you get paperwork, offer letter, etc? sm
If they offered you a position and are already so far as setting you up with your account I would have thought you would have already filled out the required paperwork and sent in copies of your Social Security card, etc. (so you would know which company hired you).  That said, there is only one Keystrokes of which I am aware.  I would call them.
Just filled out my new hire paperwork today-sm
I'm glad to hear encouraging things. I'm really excited! I'm just P/T so all the OT stuff and what not does not apply to me anyway.
You'll get employment paperwork via email. sm
The HR person is out emergently today and yesterday, so there may be a delay. Storm on its way to Illinois today too!
read again; not only does the paperwork say Hard Wire ....

Archives say low pay, overwhelming paperwork to wade thru, need a second line & get

Anyone currently with Oracle? Do they still drown you with paperwork and endless acct.
s
Let me check my paperwork and I'll shoot you an email. NM

I applied, tested, returned my paperwork and NOTHING.. no followup ...NOTHING

Disorganization is my number 1 pet peeve and reason for NOT going any further with a company. I used my time to apply and test and fax paperwork back so you'd think they could have done their part and at least followed up. I could even assume that maybe they didn't get my paperwork, that does happen with fax machines, but you would have thought someone would have emailed, called, something to ask where it was. I would not accept a position with a company like that. My thoughts are this....if they are so unorganized that they cannot receive the paperwork and get you going, then am I sure that I will get my checks on time and that they will not get ignored or put aside. So, for me, I'd give them a thumbs down.

I can't find the exact paperwork now, but thought there was a choice sm
between $500 deductible and $1500 deductible, with about a $20 difference in the premiums each pay period.  Otherwise, both plans are identical with a $20 or $30 copay for doctor visits.  However, I could be wrong about both -- wouldn't swear to it.
Not just MT, any computer skills, paperwork, etc. could be difficult. I am just guessing. (nm)
.
If you read your paperwork, you'll see that is an option they have. Also, the state of Illinois
does not have right to work law, any employer can fire you at any time without cause.
Recent contact who was there said they were unorganized, paid low, & flooded you with paperwork.
s
anyone have trouble with focus infomatics sending hire paperwork
or trouble getting paid?  I am not off to a good start with them in that regard ... they won't/haven't sent me any paperwork and i refuse to work for free.  thanks.
Company emails and paperwork with lots of typos and misspellings
I recently started working with a small MTSO. In just about every email from the owner, I see typos, misspelled and misused words. Also, the same goes for all paperwork I have received. Even the QA manager does the same thing.

Would you bring such things to their attention?
An acquaintance told me acct specs and reams of paperwork were ridiculous.
s
I was told this morning that it is in the works, final paperwork signed last Friday. sm
My single coverage is only $184 a month. I do not know where you heard over $500.
Form an LLC (limited liability corporation) if you are an IC by filing legal paperwork SM
that way no one can sue your personal assets away, only those of your business entity, even if it is only your IC company in your name. This can be done through a lawyer or at companies such as legalzoom. this limits your liability and protects your personal assets. otherwise, they can take away all your assets, including your joint assets of your spouse.
Current DSG'r
I have been with DSG for a little over 2 years now and have been very happy with them! I have not always been happy with my performance, but they have always been there to answer my questions, to have work for me, and to pay me ALWAYS ON TIME! I would recommend working at DSG to anyone. Now that does not mean everyone will find a perfect fit, but I have worked with a lot of other companies over the years and certainly hope that I will be retiring with DSG many years down the road!!
Current DSG'r

I have been with them for almost 2 years.  I have not ran into the problems posted here.  I have been on one account, and at my request put on another.  They do not move me from account to account.  I have never had problems with sound.  Yes there is ESL doctors.  Yes there are different account specs.  The management team, I have found have been helpful.  Pay is always on time.  Any concerns I have ever had management has addressed.  Work is there, but like with this field there are slow times.  I have worked for other national companies and DSG is among the better companies.  No company is perfect, just like no MT is perfect.  You take the good with the bad.

current mt
They are great to work for....no problems at all...they pay for headers and footers so the line count to me is about the same, regarding spaces versus no spaces.  I have been with them for 5+ years.  If you want to stay with a company and not move from company to company, Phoenix MedCom is the company for you.
Current PMC MTs....

How are the dictators at Phoenix MedCom, particularly the ortho docs?

Thanks  :)

Something current
from someone that actually works for them if possible. I've read all the archives about them, but need to know if they've changed like they say they have. Thanks.
Current OSi MT
I have been with the company for 90 days. I love it. I do not understand the negative posts about the recruiters. Mine was great. Very informative, friendly. The company is great. There is work, I absolutely love the account I am on. I only have 2 years experience and I make more than 7 cpl. Maybe they pay base on the account. I am not sure. Give them a try. I am on the ExText platform and I love it.
Their current ad says 8 cpl
to start, and past ads have even stated an increase at particular intervals. (I believe 90 days being the first, but do not recall for certain, and do not know what the increases amount to or how many there are.) When I was there, one of the owners sent an e-mail to everyone once (when she was upset about MTs being asked to cover others' vacation, etc.), and in it stated that, although their MTs are all subcontractors, they have always tried to offer rate increases, even bonuses to add a more personal touch to the IC status, which we all know most do not seem to do these days.

I found them to be very nice people for the most part, but have read here before that the owner is a little quirky, which I also found to be true in my experience, but was unable to draw out of the poster why he/she thought that, and my story is far too long to post here.

They do offer direct deposit, which you must pay the cost of if you want to enroll, but it is minimal. They do pay on time, every time, and in the information provided to newly hired ICs it states that they are not dependent on being paid by the clients to be able to pay their ICs/employees.

Hope that helps, and good luck!
Anyone like their current job? If so..sm

I'm in desperate need of a new job.  I hate the place I work now, and it's getting progressively worse.  Instead of asking about particular companies, can anyone just tell me if they like their current company and what it is, please?  I need to change jobs as quick as I can, and I don't want to waste a ton of time taking a lot of lengthy tests only to find out the company is no good (which is what happened to me this last time).

I know all companies have their pros/cons, but anyone have a job where there are more pros than cons?  I would so appreciate any suggestions anyone can give me as long as it is not Cymed/SPI   because that's where I want to leave.  Any of the pros/cons on your company would be also appreciated.  Thanks again!

MDI FL would like current

info - all searches bring up stuff from 2005.  Anyone willing to comment? Especially interested in benefits -- ins., etc.

If you can do it, keep your current job, get more MT sm
education, stock up on the appropriate MT references (don't rely solely on Google, it's what is bringing MT quality down to where MTSOs don't want to pay much anymore), and get some on-the-job experience. We were paid more in the past because the MTSO's KNEW we were investing in books, required us to have these reference materials, and compensated us accordingly. Now, they know the newer MTs aren't bothering to spend money on books so why should they pay for that? And if USA quality is lousy anyway, why not offshore and get the same quality for less money? We're our own worst enemy. You'd never see a carpenter without a hammer, and MT is resource/research dependent.
(Watch the flames now.)

I wish you luck. I think you'll do well, but keep your security intact while you get some experience under your belt.

..NM up there...Does C and C have a current ad up somewhere?

Your post kind of bothers me. If you are a new hire, you should have looked into this company before you hired on, and then, having taken that step, proceed with a degree of confidence in your decision. Personally, now I am working my days off as there is so much work to do. Yes, there will be times my accounts have a lull for several hours, but usually when one is low, I have plenty on other backup accts. Since you've already taken the leap as a new hire -- why not just see how it goes for you -- keep your liaison up-to-date on your thoughts/concerns/needs and see if the company is a good fit for you. As for me, an oldie MT, i've never had a better place to work!!
What about current MTs who..sm
don't have work on their regular 8-hour shift and then told they have to make their lines later and mostly into weekends?
Current OSi MT
I've been with them quite a while. Some accounts do have plenty of work. Other accounts do not. It really depends on what you are placed on, like anywhere else I guess. There does seem to be a revolving door with the coordinators sometimes. Some have been around forever, others stay for a short bit and are gone.

Pay is always on time, without fail, so that is nice. If you are full time and become eligible 401K, they have a good 401K match, better than many other companies.

Line counts. That can be an issue. Line counts are checked in different ways depending on the account, and after having worked on many accounts, I can say that some have a percentage taken right off the top and others are closer to accurate. For example, if you check your characters extended in Word and divide by 65 and get your line count, and then compare that to what OSi says your line count is, some accounts are right on while others are about 10% less, at least of the accounts I have worked on.

They definitely offshore, more than the big one that brought it all to light a few years ago. Their new investors from a year or two ago have interests in India, and some things have changed at OSi since then. I'm sure more changes are to come.
Current TT MTs

Just curious for your opinions, are you planning on sticking it out with TT or are you actively looking for a new place to work?  I have a job offer with another company and I'm stressing about what to do.  TT was supposed to be one of the best places to work for an MT, and I was excited when I got hired there. I hate to jump ship if things are going to get better.  Just wanted to hear what everyone else had to say.
