The rude rude rude post is TRUE
.
My only contact with them was rude. The front office person or whomever schedules interviews is rude
This was about a year ago but I set up an interview and either I was supposed to call them or they were to call me at a certain time but I totally spaced off the time change. The lady went off on me and told me that they had no interest in me because I couldn't call on time etc. Rude. There is no way I would ever work for someone like that.
Just be rude..out and out rude so they have just cause to "fire" you.. haha..What a bunch of i
Who would want to work for incompetent people like that. Time to change your phone numbers. They are like bad stalkers.
Rude answer to a rude post. nm

How can I get along with my co-worker.
I swear, I usually get along with most people but this one is trying my nerves. This lady did not get along with the other transcriptionists. She claimed they made too much noise, their hand lotion smelled (even though it was unscented), they shook the cubicle too much, always a complaint. So what the boss do? She moves me and the this whinny lady to a little office all to our own. I wasn’t complaining. Anyway, the only thing I hear out of this office lady is either bragging about herself or putting one of the other Transcriptionist down. She does put atmosphere in our office. I had to get up and go pee. She gives me a dirty look. I say “what.” Then she says I have this psychiatric disorder that I have to get up and down too much. Another complaint she had about the other office girls, they were in an out of the office too much, never sat still.
Then, she starts complaining about this ESL she was transcribing for. He is horrible, he needs to go back where he came from blah blah blah, I just chuckled a little. SHE says “ITS NOT FUNNY, in-house employee.” Then she starts in on how her neighbor in her apartment complex was making too much noise with his girlfriend last night. I chuckled. ITS NOT FUNNY, in-house employee. She had to walk further to her apartment. I said why, she said “OBVIOUSLY SOMEONE HAD MY PARKING PLACE hospital employee.” Then she slammed something on her desk and went to typing. I am sorry, I don’t know how to deal with this.
We usually have lunch together, although lately I have managed to back out. She will embarrass me. She happened to know “Dr. Bones” (orthopedist) receptionist who was having lunch with his mom and pop. She told mom and dad Bones that she transcribes for Bones and that Bones gets his left and right mixed up. I don’t know why but that embarrasses me. I don’t think she should be telling people that. She will also stop docs in the hallway and talk about their dictation that we don’t have time for them flipping through papers, chewing gum or stuff like that. Gosh, I wished one of them would put her in her place. Thanks for letting me vent.
Tto the IRS worker
Thank you. I have had a 40-year career in this business, have always played fair with my boss, with employees (when I had them) and with the IRS. I just have no patience with people who try to either work off the books or to cheat their employees. I say, good for the IRS! I hope you get them!
Maybe we had the same co-worker? LOL!!!
When I was training in-house to be an MT, we had a woman who had worked there for many years. The hospital had just gotten new printers, HUGE contraptions with this big heavy plastic 'silencing' hood on huge hinges.
On day she was in a hurry to snatch something off the printer and the hinges were still tight from being new.
She lost patience VERY quickly, grabbed the entire plastic silencing hood off the printer, and threw it across the room.
I was temporarily a bit frightened, but everyone in the room started laughing so I figured it was par for the course for her.
Just to be on the safe side, though, I tried to stay out of her way when she was near anything heavy or sharp.
Ah, those were the days...I laugh about it even now!!!
3 words, rude, rude, rude....sm
the owner sends out UGLY and NASTY emails to the MTs. The communication is just a disorganized mess and they hire you as an IC, but pretty much treats you like an employee. Emdat sucks and pretty much the accounts are not that great. VERY hard to get your lines in Emdat platform. They LOVE to FIRE....when in actuality.....(that is the term they use)...you cannot FIRE an IC, you can lock them out of the system and I guess that is firing, but those two words have always been a pet peeve of mine....hearing when MTs are fired as ICs....Just my opinion

I have always been an early worker but now..sm
there is NO work and when it does come in it seems everyone is waiting like me to grab it and then there is NO work as there were only a few reports. I addressed these concerns only to be told I needed to be more flexible.
NIGHT WORKER
Thank you for the clarification. It is apparent that one of two scenarios is happening here. You are either charging too little of your client, undercutting all competition, or you are keeping too much of the profits for yourself!!
Since you have direct contact with this client, why not train them to train the horrible, ESL, fast-talking dictator!!
BTW, I work the night shift, so the time I spend here is my own time, as if that is any of your business.
To hard worker
I was looking for the same thing and found it at Landmark. They have very high standards, are kind and decent people and best of all, they leave you alone to get your work done. In short, they treat their MTs with respect and like we are actually adults. I recommend them!
Can I e-mail a Transtech worker?
Can someone who works at Transtech post here so I can e-mail some questions that I don't want to ask on the board?
grow up weekend worker nm
lkdjfdljs
Absolutely. Worker drones. However with this
These worker drones have Rah Rah capabilities. Most stay silent though and take it. The minority speak out and get dumped on. Sounds like some kind of controlling atmosphere and if so, there must be something to hide. I don't know, but I won't be a drone, for nobody nowhere, no matter how great people say they are!
Never met the offending office worker
Thanks for the reply. I don't know why she would alter my reports unless she is jealous that I work at home and she doesn't. That can be a big reason for lots of people to try to undermine those of us smart enough and trained enough to work from home. I do have any attorney who is interested in taking it on contingency and he mentioned about the HIPAA violation element. Still pondering whether to make a big splash in this small town.
Possible at Webmedx for very fast worker. NM
x
I would say yes - the worker agreed to the terms.
When hired and by continuing their voluntary working, the worker is agreeing to the terms.
That's disgusting, 1000 US worker versus 600
that I gave Transcend the boot a few years back during their difficult times. They were awful to work for, and now I know why. This was all hush hush back then and still now. We're not supposed to have the intelligence to read the newspapers, let alone find the news. Backstabbers for sure, and one of the biggest games in town, when they always screamed they would never do this to us. Yeah, right. Go Transcend India!! And they don't even have the guts to call us US MTs - we're domestics.
Assimilate? What are we worker drones. Next thing you know
will only be given time to regenerate at the hive before we continue to assimilate others and continue to do the Queen's bidding. Is this perfection?
If you're a hard worker and a valuable MT, then yes it is
I have been there for 4 years and if I have ever had a problem (which is very rare), it has always been fixed RIGHT away.
I think your comparison is ridiculous and insulting. Try getting a farm worker's job and you'
nm
I learned a lot about MTSO from her post..not a job for me every..I'm definitley a worker bee.
Someones credit has absolutely nothing to do with how good a worker they are.
There are more people now days that have low credit scores compared to those that do not. A lot of different scenarios can put you with bad credit like major medical bills.
I don't think people should be judged on their work habits by something that may be beyond their control.
If that is how they treat their new MTs,
then just imagine how they must treat their MTs on average or for the long run! Gee Willikers! I doubt you'd have much positive to look forward to if you stayed. For that person to treat you that way so quickly -- she must both be used to doing so to others and gets away with it from the company. That gives her a lot of power to make other people miserable. I would let that place take a hike. I sure hope I don't run into her on my job search.
Good luck to you in whatever you decide.
Yes, when you treat the MT like....
I have to say if the MTs weren't treated like they are in sweat shops and constantly hounded about their production and could get paid a decent wage, then maybe the quality could get better. But, when you are paid on production and someone just out of school has yet to build up speed, and they are being hounded as to why they are not producing their line count, then they feel rushed and yes, making careless mistakes. I have been MTing for 3 years, and I surely do wish I would have chosen another field. I am currently getting myself ready to go back to school and get into diagnostic medical sonography. The only thing I will miss is being able to work from home and be more available to my family. Sorry in advance for any typos or punctuation errors.
Rude, rude posters
Hope you rude posters find a good fit for you. Don't run down OSi because some of us like them. No problems either and I have 10 years experience. No newbies here like you say. Love the accounts I'm on. Hope the complainers find a good home, but if not, they will be back and on another company's case.
It is so rude to call QA rude because YOU have
been stuck on QA hold for six months!! And the other poster above - if you are getting QA notes and they are including your supervisor, which you imply is not the norm, then YOU are the one responsible. It matters not if you've been an MT for 1 week or 30 years - if your skills are not up to par, they are not up to par. Many MTs get cleared from QA hold within hours or days at most - companies do NOT want to hold you up from producing, nor do they love to waste their $ on MTs on QA hold. You really need a reality check. And no, I am not rude! It is always, always the MTs lacking in skills who get pissed at QA - no form of feedback is acceptable to that type - even sealed with a kiss and a big bow!
Rude! Recruiter was very rude to me.
She had an attitude right off the bat.
They have a low pay scale. They treat you like
The owner is nice enough, but she does not like to pay until her client pays her and she will make you sign a paper stating you agree to that. Just be careful what you sign. You might like it if you like EMDAT. There is no training. You train yourself through a website she gives you for EMDAT. Again pay is low.
I don't agree-because Men treat U the way U..NM
But they are!! Treat employees very well
nm
If you treat your employees well, why
would you make the statement all but 1 would turn on you if someone offered something better? Most MTs I know are thankful to work for someone who treats them well, something that is no longer the norm in this business, and generally stick it out for the long haul, until the MTSO offshores or there is no work or not enough work to feed our families. Somehow it has been lost that an employee well treated and well paid is an asset, not a liability. I don't know about you, but I appreciate respect for the work I do and the knowledge I bring to the table and that respect comes in many forms, most notably a living wage. You can be darn sure that in these economic times and with the depressed wages we have had to settle for because MTSOs, large and small, offshore or live high and mighty off the backs of us MT slaves, I'm looking out for #1. Loyalty and respect are earned. Very few companies today exhibit business and/or moral practices that earn them either.
I like my company. They treat me well.
industry's *standard* pay.
BUT ------ Thanks to AAMT/AHDI, greedy hospital CEO's who want more money & more management, at the expense of less of everything else (including patient care), and MTSO's without the backbone to stand by a rate that means they can pay their MT's a living wage, even *the industry's best* pay just isn't cutting it. Not as a single person, anyway.
Changing jobs would just make my situation worse. But if the payscale doesn't go up soon, I'll have no choice but to get out. I already cant ever retire, thanks to the Wall Street pigs. And thanks to greedy people buying into the MT industry to make a fast, easy buck, just makeing ends meet is getting near-impossible. I could understand it if I had no education and no skills. But as a person who is pretty much at the top of their game in MT, I'm so disappointed that my work, my hours, and my knowledge aren't paid what they're worth. A very respected doctor/professor once told me that MTs are *one of the doctors' strongest lines of defense against mistakes, malpractice, and lawsuits*. He used to thank me personally every year, even though the rest of the hospital didn't seem to give a crap, for catching those tiny dictation errors that ALL doctors make, and for bringing things that seemed questionable to his attention. As a result, we both learned continually, and quality was job-one for him, as well as for me.
Now, it's just a numbers game. Crank out those lines. Cut those corners. Someday that continual haste is going to cost a lot (if it hasn't already). A life. A job. A medical licensure. A few million in a lawsuit. We used to be important players in the quality of medical care documentation. Now, we're just *expendable* cogs in the wheel.
They treat their employees VERY well.
I have been there for over 2 years and don't plan on going anywhere else. They will go out of their way to do anything they can for you if you are a hard working employee. I have never been with a company who treats their employees this well.
They don't treat you well on the CM side
You may not think it makes a difference, but it's like working for a different company. I think the staff is very abusive and disrespectful to the MTs and each other. Webmedx needs to go in there and clean house from the supervisors down.
Read ChartMatrix MT's post below. The culture really does make a difference. Apparently, she doesn't have work, either. Bad on both counts.
And that they will treat you like FAMILY, too.
Can't argue that one. I guess like most of MY family, these yahoos would never pay me what they owed me, either.
I cannot believe they still have the audacity to advertise here.
They're going to treat you the same as all other employees
and you'll not get your way by threatening and stomping your feet. You hold no more weight than the rest of us with them. Just how expensive is it for YOU to type for MQ who is PAYING YOU? LOL
?? I don't see how you can say that... I love MDI and they treat their employees well.
I have never had a bad experience with them and I certainly would not call them nasty.
And why do MTSOs treat ICs as employees? nm
x
Well, just don't go to work for Focus. They don't treat
their staff very well, they are all Indian including your leads, and there is at least one guy there who is very male chauvenistic.
I work for 2 companies and both treat me very well. sm
Contented MTs generally don't come to these boards to complain, so our side is not represented well.
There are some very good companies out there. I've managed to find 2!
BTW, we're not nickeled and dimed. We're pennied, or ha'pennied!
Unlike government employees, we're paid on production, so lots of work gets done.
;)
As companies being allowed to treat their MT's like this.
If TT and the other companies who do not pay for downtimr/no work to their at-home MT's when they log on and there is NO WORK, then these companies would assuredly be more careful about letting us run out of work.
Discussion was about having to stick to a schedule when they want us to, but in no work situations, mgmt will forget about a schedule then and request us not to call the office, nor email on those days, and we are allowed to be flexible with our schedules (at their convenience). These companies who run out of work need to be paying for downtime/no work situations, and they will be more careful about surprising us with no work days when we log into the system.
This began as a discussion about sticking to a schedule, not about $$$ saved up.
This is misleading. They have all ICs, so it cannot be said that they treat their employees well.
I had a rude awakening about being an IC and will never go that route again!
people should treat others the way they want to be treated. nm
.
They hire you as an IC and treat you as an employee. nm
.
I'll bet the Saudis will treat you...
a whole lot better than Transcend does. Arabs are known for being extremely generous, unlike many of these 'American' transcription companies.
I agree with all the above. Know how to treat transcriptionists, and I don't just mean on holida
nm
Been there. My company didn't treat me horribly
but because I could do the very worst ESLs I got dumped on. Work is assigned by the company and there isn't supposed to be cherry-picking, but there obviously was. I could do the dictation, but it slowed me down considerably. On top of the bad dictator it seemed the sound quality was also bad. I would be stressed at the end of the day and end up with a headache. If I were getting paid by the hour I would have still be a bit stressed, but not as much because I didn't have to worry about producing lines. My MTSO has told me a couple of stories too. I have looked for another position a couple of times, but every company that offered me a position didn't want to pay me what I was currently making, didn't allow me the flexibility that I have, didn't have the friendly platform that I currently have, and I had to be connected to the internet to work the whole time. I like to get outside when the weather is nice and with my current job I download my work and then I can get off-line. I can take my laptop outside and work. I still read the job boards on occasion, but I have decided I can't do any better anywhere else, so I'll just accept whatever issues there are and deal with them.
Stay away from Fast Chart. Their pay is low and they don't treat you very well. nm
nm
I treat my days of no work as an unexpected day off..
get a lot done at home, go to town and do the shopping I would have had to do on my day off. Every now and then it is nice to have a day off that is unexpected. I make up anything that I have to on my days off...just like in the real *outside* job world. If I miss a day or two of pay I don't sweat it...that is why I have a little extra $$ put away.
I think that is very good advice but how do you know if a company is going to treat you well?
During the interview they will tell you all kinds of wonderful stuff. Are you saying it is better to look a company offering a lower line rate as an indication of a better place to work? You could be right.
It seems kind of sad though in our industry that in order to get decent management the personal price is to take a cut in pay. Why can't it be good management and good pay at the same time?
