That is just silly. People discuss pay all the time.

People discuss line rates, yes, but pay, I still say is not professional
nm
Not that silly, a lot of people forget about
It kinda slips your mind when you're so used to communicating via email. I've found, though, that even if I can't get a reply on email, I get an answer on the phone pretty quickly. I'm sure some companies get bogged down in emails so a phone call also shows them you're serious. Plus, if your email contact isn't terribly helpful, you might get someone on the phone that's more helpful anyway.
You're welcome! Good luck!

I know that at one time a lot of people from MQ
They were raving about how good JLG was at the time. Don't know about now. There are a lot of posts on JLG if you will just do a search.
I think it is all nearly full-time people now..they may have (sm)
a few people working part-time but I'm not sure.
In this day and time people are taking
pay cuts to keep their jobs, don't think now is the time to be asking for a raise. We are on a tier system, so there is no way we can get a raise. Other companies where I have worked have always had a cap and once you reached that there were no raises.
That would be something you would have to discuss with them.
I am not sure if all are done the same way and do not want to give out incorrect info.
Did you discuss this at all with them,
especially if you had no way of knowing client specifics and could not get them on your own?? If they were available to you, that might be a different story however.

KS people who work on accounts with lag time (sm)
I have been having the phone line go dead and sometimes I can call right back and get my report and sometimes I lose it. I have had my cable people out here several days in a row, and they can find nothing wrong. I was wondering if this happens to others - and maybe it is a problem with the hospital line we use - not actually the line in my home. I appreciate any input. (I am new on this account so do not have enough history to know.)
People post that info all the time.

The reason PT people have a hard time/
is because the majority of PTers are very cavalier about schedules. They log on or log off at will, despite the fact they agreed to work specific days and hours. I'm sure you are very reliable, but even the company I work for will not hire PT anymore because they are either undependable or they work a month or two and quit. That's a lot of energy the company has to put in for no payoff.
If you would like to email me, we can discuss more.

Discuss MQ on the MQ board, please. (NM)
Goldbird
Well, so then why do you care if we discuss it again?
?
Why are we allowed to discuss MQ's
pending lawsuits but not KS's?
We can't discuss it on MT Stars
NM
We can discuss whose behavior is sad
And if you aren't familiar with the word Hades, which gets through the word censors when it's other more common alliteration does not, then perhaps you should read more rather than spend your time on the board star gazing.
I hear people talk union all the time, but no one ever
does anything about it. Personally I would never join one anyway so I don't care. I am not a single mom, but for one year my DH took off work to go to school and I was the sole support of our family. I paid all the bills, including insurance, though mine was not $700/mo. We didn't have $$ for lots of extras, but all of our normal bills were paid and our house payment was $895/mo.
I only worked about 6 hours/day at that time, though sometimes worked less and sometimes more.
Just because one person can't do 2500 lines/day or be self-supporting, doesn't mean that some of us can't. I make good money and could make more if I wanted to work more, but I don't.
No one is forcing you to be an MT. If you are unhappy with the pay, etc. find something else. Companies, MT or not, have to look out for their bottom line. MT companies are now in competition with Indian companies, or US fronts for Indian companies, who will undercut any line rate to the customer, so in order for MT companies to keep accounts they have to maintain rates. I know of one local company who went out of business because while he had not raised his rates in about 8 years, he just could not compete with other offshore companies.
but it is a free country. People ask questions all the time that
are best answered by a representative of the company in question.
I only worked there briefly, but great people, and pay always on time. sm
They do have a thing where you have to get a paper check for the first 90 days, then you can have direct deposit. The account that I was on used ExText.
Hope this helps. Good luck.
I removed it; please do not discuss other websites here. (NM)

We aren't supposed to discuss our pay,
without my name here, please don't email me, I make 9 cents a line inpatient trancsription.
you just don't discuss pay. Ranges maybe, but not actual pay (sm)
As with every company that I know of, there are big ranges in pay, and it just should not be discussed on a public forum, or actually even with people you know. Not everyone may be offered the same thing and it causes too many problems. Any professional person would know this, no matter what field you are in.
I'd talk to the Nat'l first and discuss what would make that a better job sm
for you. I always try to make things better before making a decision.
The board fills up when MTs try to discuss TT because
management & a couple of cheerleaders, but mostly management I believe, literally freak on every single post rather than just letting the MTs have a discussion. If I owned TT, I would request those few stop acting like that & let the MTs have their own honest discussions on this public board without interference. It's so silly.
Why not just bring up another topic to discuss sm
and let them bicker amongst themelves in the their own threads? Seems a whole lot easier just to start a totally new thread. No one is obligated to read their posts.
Checks on time, 10 cents/line IC, nice people.

I have found this time of year to be extremely busy. People
are scheduling elective procedures while they have a long weekend off and don't have to worry about missing work, plus docs do their best to get everyone home for Thanksgiving and I have DS galore. I do think around Christmas it slows down, but I also think there are lots of MTs taking time off during this time frame so you would think the work would balance out - less work, but less MTs, so still a fair amount of work.
It has been slow for me since at least August, so it isn't just the holidays.
I had a hard time making money. Nice people though! nm

Decent company, good people, pay on time, work low sometimes. nm

As below, they do to full time people making 900 dollars per pay period. nm

Posts below don't discuss platform specifics...nm
did you read them?
Still hoping for some information on platform from someone who works there. Thanks.
Yes, you can discuss anything UNTIL it rises to the level of libel.
Do you have any idea the damage some of these vicious and unfounded rumors and innuendos can cause a company? Do you really want to place yourself at that kind of jeopardy? Why should a company sit back and take it? Stating an opinion is one thing, but stating something as a fact when you truly have no idea what you're talking about is another thing. Gimme a break!
I never ever discuss pay of any kind, just not a good idea
because what one person gets paid may not be the same as another and it can cause hurt feelings and problems. I will tell you that the downtime pay is the same as vacation pay - LOL.
Probably getting together to discuss line rate cuts. nm

I worked there part-time briefly. People are very nice to deal with, sm
and pay was okay. You had to wait 90 days to get direct deposit, and until then checks were mailed, which is a bit of pain, but they were always on time. I didn't care that much for my account, but the leader was always quite helpful. They must be a bit disorganized, though, as I still get messages from the help desk to help out, and I have been gone at least 3 months! And the help desk is apparently in India, if that makes any difference to you.
please feel free to submit your resume and we can discuss all of the above/below :)
xx
Great bunch of people to work with, pay on time, my only problem is that QA is paid by line instead
of by the hour and you must listen to all reports 100% instead of just jumping and filling in the QA markers.
Oh how silly of me! Thanks! (nm)

Silly!
In France all they do is strike and riot!
silly me...
I thought this board was for discussion, as in two sides of the issue, not just complaining, and for sharing among our profession.
I am not judging anyone having a hard time making ends meet. I am simply saying some people have got lousy attitudes. They would rather complain than do anything to improve their situation. Case in point, how sad that you think the purpose of a discussion board is simply to complain and how sad that you have no one else to talk to - like a person whose face you can see. But frankly, if someone thought my only purpose was to listen to them complain, i guess i wouldn't want to talk face to face with them either. It's not that I don't have anything to contribute; it's just that you don't want to hear anyone who actually is satisfied in their job or thinks changing is better than wallowing.
This is kind of silly, isn't it?
I agree with the poster who said that people are entirely too quick to use the term racist. At any rate, I think enough has been said.
I was just being generally silly - but not
sure who my cohorts are! I assure you, I'm a lone jokester.
such a silly comparison.
While clarification from a supervisor is always a good idea, to compare asking for input here from other MTs to ''flagging down strangers on the street'' is pretty silly. (about as ridiculous as declaring it shows ''rampant mental illness'')
don't have to be a psychiatrist also to see this is silly ... sm
woohoo ... of 28 lines one day and this and that .. BFD.
Trust them and stay with them and work your fingers off insteady of coming here and trying to stir up trouble ......... or ........ move on and find a company you can trust and don't have to perform 20 different line counting programs to verify .. sheesh.
I'm glad Friday and Saturday are my days off ... this makes me tired ... LOL
I feel silly for saying this, but sm
I really have literally cried a time or two when yet another CP popped up I had never seen before and I could see the next job was yet a different one I had neer seen before and neither one would I likely see again.
I used to be able to transcribe 2000 to 2200 lines per day and made excellent money last year (I was one of the 2006 cheerleaders) but this past pay period, I am lucky to get in 1700 lines a day. I know that's still over the req, but it isn't good enough for me. My DH is a good breadwinner and we are comfortable and not in financial trouble, but the lack of desperation does not mean I am willing to be treated in such a cavalier manner, particularly when I am certainly not cavalier about the work I produce.
I have worked for other companies (non-MT) before that have had new CEOs or have been bought out and the same thing happened with all of them. Every time I hear about major changes going on I cringe. Last year's changes turned out to be great for me but beginning in April of this year, when all my accounts went ASR, things began to slide (I can type MUCH faster than edit ASR) and on July 1, it all went to Hades. I know ASR is a permanent fixture so I've gotten used to that, but the World Wide Pool is another matter.
I have applied several places. I have heard from two. But it was Lee I was really interested in. Unfortunately, I have only five years' experience so I can't compete with yours. I don't begrudge you this opportunity, though. We will both end up with something better, regardless. :-)
I DO WORK THERE SILLY!!!!!
Obviously you DON'T....LOL!!!!!!
Now what was silly about my comment?
I just wanted to make sure that the company was being plugged by an ACTUAL employee. I'm glad you are happy there at Axolotl.
