want the experience, except maybe they need to get them started quickly, and that is easier if they know it in advance.

They added several new accounts this summer
so I don't know which one you are talking about, but I have been out of work for 2 days too and despite asking for a back-up account I have yet to get one. I do know that another account is coming on-line next month, though they have hired people for it and those people are probably working on the other accounts in the meantime, taking work from the estabilshed MTs.

Unless the company just has clinic accounts, they usually require
that you work one weekend day and there is no differential for that. There may be a differential if you work both days. I get shift differential for working outside first shift hours. There are always exceptions to the above, though more and more companies are going with a weekend day required.
That is only for ortho and clinic, not HIM and radiology and only certain accounts. sm
I am Mon-Fri. I have not worked a weekend in 3 years with the exception of one Saturday because I took off on Monday and switched with someone.

You might try them. It had few ESLs. Not sure if they are hiring or not but it would be worth a try. Some of it is in speech though but most of it is straight transcription.

Meditech, C-phone and op notes only and one of them only needs 2 MTs (it is my back-up account). How long did you try? I was ready to throw in the towel the first 2 weeks and then it all clicked into place. Nothing is ever simple in the beginning. This account is fairly new but a lot of MTs have tried it for a day or two and then gave up, which is a shame because it is a very low % of ESL and pretty easy once you get used to the system.
That's not how I got 2 accounts. They had ExText and we bid on the account. sm
They had had it for 3 or 4 years prior to that. Dictaphone had nothing to do with it.
Yes, there are nonteaching rad accounts. I am fortunate that the account that I am on sm
has all American-born radiologists but I know that is not the norm.
There is an opening on an account that I do backup for. You might want to get your resume in right away because they want to fill that one pretty quick. The account is picky as can be but the work is easy. It is by the line because they have wordy dictators but it is gross line, which is basically unheard of anymore!

I have been there for 4 years. They have not lost any accounts but have gotten rid of 3 accounts. One of them was definitely the one you are talking about as it is the only one I ever saw with such blatant cherry picking by hospital staff. They were not even hospital staff; they were hospital employees that were let go and went in to work as ICs.
I have been a lead and stepped down recently due to family obligations.
They continue to grow steadiily and the changes over the years have all been positive. They truly do value their employees and stand strong on no offshore, which is important to me.
I would give them a call if you do not like where you went. Several have found that the grass is not greener and came back. A few were not taken back, but I find them to be fair.
I do not think that the company is perfect (i.e. no downtime pay) but I usually have plenty of work, get paid on time and like the people I encounter. I get asked to work extra, but that should stop now that there are more MTs on my main account.
They do not overstaff; I am very grateful for that.

I assume they want us all on VR, so they can pay us 2 cpl or whatever they are paying the offshore MTs.
You can ask to be put on a higher level account, however, there is no M-F on the higher level accounts. They want you to work evenings and one weekend day.
Depends on the account for which you are hired, my accounts are low occasionally but usually with a
couple of backup accounts and doing all work types, you can do fine.

The account that everyone is referring to is high ESL, very Hispanic, in Texas. It is not bad once you get used to the doctors. It is huge and difficult but not impossible and not bad.
They also have 4 other new accounts in acute care they are hiring for and 2 other excisting accounts that are growing.
With all I see on other companies not having enough work, I am grateful for Keystrokes. They keep growing and improving and were the best move I ever made!
I used to work there and know people who still do...they have no work on clinic account but if you
are acute care or have experience in acute care you will be fine...
I find the sound quality not so great on some accounts. I guess it depends on what account you get
on.

I added up where all the numbers are in parentheses and it came out I lost more than I had in there. I'm waiting for them to send me a bill!!
You don't know how that can happen? It just keeps going down, down, down until poof, all gone. Did yours increase? Probably not. They can decrease until they completely disappear and that's what happened to mine. Luckily, it was the smallest of all the 401K's I have.
How about they added an ad. I proof all day, can't seem to

Two are hospitals, one is a clinic. The biggest one is a clinic that only does sm
oncology. We cannot post account names here and do not give out that information until confidentiality forms are signed.
I can tell you that a very, very large oncology hospital will be starting on March 1st that will need 30+ transcriptionists to run smooth.

LOLOL! I don't think we will ever run out of work. They have added three huge
accounts this month alone and I know that there are two scheduled for next month and two the month after. They are growing like crazy and I cannot believe we will ever be slow.
They did say that, with the added "foreseeable future." Right in their own article about the
acquisition it says something about moving some of those jobs onto their VR platform, as well as stating that they plan to offshore more and more work. So they are concerned about making lots of moola, not the MTs having jobs. Somewhere in there it even stated something to the effect of they can make more $ by using FEWER MTs with their VR platform. See the thread above about how the current people have no work on the NIGHT SHIFT, watch it disappear at 10 p.m. every night, even tho they said they only offshore BECAUSE nobody will work the night shift. And yet the poor night shift worker sits there with no work and watches it go to India. That's a travesty, especially in our current economy with astronomical unemployment rates.
Yes, they added a tiny bit to the benefits, but now require 12,000 lines.
That was a low blow!!! It is almost impossible to get 10,000 lines on those nasty VA accounts and now they are requiring more. I will be looking for a new home. This sucks!!!

I couldn't tell you about the benefits because I was part-time and didn't need them at that time. They use Dragon MT as their platform. I personally didn't like it.

We are starting a new platform called MModal that will eventually lead to ASR so I am told. I believe some MTs are already doing this. I imagine they will do the same thing MQ does with the reduced pay for ASR.

Yes, I've spoken to many people and they all say Meditech Magic is very easy to learn and they have no problems getting their line count! It sounds like we are making a great move and, hopefully, a permanent one!

All acounts are moving to ASR
Webmedx is going to be converting all its accounts to ASR as soon as they can. Whatever they offer you now will be cut 30% when your accounts are converted. If you are Acute Care, you may be stuck with heavy ESL accounts now and depending on how much you like ESL you may have a hard time reaching the minimum 150 lines per hour because you will be training on up to 6 different accounts with different account specifics. In my opinion, I would ask lots of questions of the recruiter to find out what type of accounts they are hiring for and how long before they convert those accounts to ASR. Really depends on your frustration level. If you want consistent and hastle-free work, WMX may not be the best place for you. GOOD LUCK.

I too have had horrible experiences. I think we both were previously working for the same company, a company highly recommended on this board. It was a huge disappointment as far as lines. It was impossible, too many foreign dictators and something funny going on with the line count. You wrote me and told me about Keystrokes. As well, I read your many posts about KS. I took a chance with your advice and accepted a job with them. You were speaking the truth and not just another recruiter. Thank you so much for recommending them and posting your experience with them:)
