EMR (point and click) is okay for a short time but after a while, it becomes cumbersome because you can only view one screen at a time. With a paper chart, you have the whole patient record in your hands and can mark a page with your finger if need be and peruse other parts of the chart while still holding that placemark. The EMR point and click vendors will tell you that you can bookmark that is several clicks away. Too many clicks with point and click and before you know it, you have tens of thousands of pages to click through.
