Okay..now I don't feel so bad. I thought I was the only one they forgot..
I wouldn't have gotten so bummed if I hadn't heard so many people say they got a card and gift card and we did get a gift card last year. They say it's the thought that counts and they are right. I just think someone forgot to think...of all of us who work so hard. Oh well, like I said before, maybe not the most organized company but I could do worse.
By the way, I nearly forgot this original post, as
I got so absorbed in reading the GREAT posts below. I am now so proud to say that I have just done what you suggested, and am now joyfully employed with one of the three companies you listed - go US MTs! I left the company-who-shall-not-be named due to these issues, and feel I have at least tried to do something. Its a good feeling, too, for a change.
Forgot to mention in previous post below
CBay does not have enough Indians to MT for the Q, so they signed a 6-million line contract to get SPi to start outsourcing it to the Philippines Situation will not get better!
There is a message in the above post. Forgot to delete the "nm."
:+
I thought I remembered something like that, but now I cannot find it. Thanks though. nm

I can't find the exact paperwork now, but thought there was a choice sm
between $500 deductible and $1500 deductible, with about a $20 difference in the premiums each pay period. Otherwise, both plans are identical with a $20 or $30 copay for doctor visits. However, I could be wrong about both -- wouldn't swear to it.
that's what I thought but she was under my post

Thanks, BlueEyes. Much more well thought out than my post. sm
We can't talk out of both sides of our mouths, on one side complaining about offshoring, while on the other side buying foreign products.
Love your post. Never thought about it that way. (sm)
Glad to be going to work for a company that has people with positive attitudes like yours and others I see posted here.
At first I thought I had written your post
The same thing happened to me. Yet I continue to try and I ask myself WHY??? I am retired so I've got mine, why should I care about anyone else? I guess cuz that's just the way I am.
Wow, let me know if you find that post
I'd like to see that post if you can find it.
Here's the only post I find about them ...

I misread your post - I thought it was about fraud
sorry.
Are you being sarcastic or serious? I thought it was a good post. nm
nm
I thought I saw a post somewhere that says they pay bimonthly and not biweekly. Can anyone
s
Sorry for the double post - I thought it didn't *take*
nm
Try to find a positive post here
Sorry, but I don't know about the schools. I got into transcription from being in the medical field.
I don't blame you for not wanting to hear the negative. I am sick to death of seeing this negative stuff as well. I checked in here looking for samples and mistakenly decided to answer a post from someone who asked for a company recommendation. I complimented OSi for standing by me through hard times, then got mortally raked over the coals for doing that. No company is perfect but neither am I.
This board is filled with people criticizing OSi, other companies, and other people. I hope you can get an answer to your question. I have had enough of disgruntled people on this board.
See post above about not being told to find another job
and then decide how wonderful they are. Shannon is a real class act (NOT!) to work with.
please tell me why you find it necessary to dissect every post-sm
and be so cruel for someone making a type. What is wrong with you??? I for one don't proofread everything I post on here. I can just imagine how you treat people in person.
I checked and could not find my post.

Sometimes you can find an old post by doing a search.
I think the post you are referring to was from 11-28, and is probably on page 2 by now. It was from the owner of AAmT where she wrote:
We are currently in the transition phase of taking on business from another company. Therefore, please do not be confused if you call the office number and hear Synthescribe. Synthescribe is a corporation in Nashville who provides offshore labor solutions to health care providers in conjunction with onshore. AAmT is acquiring service contracts of Synthescribe's and will be providing 100% US labor solutions to these clients. I personally look forward to building a team of qualified US MTs and editors to support these health care facilities. They are thrilled about the fact we will be providing onshore services under AAmT's leadership.
Hope that helps clear things up for you.
Happy Holidays
Thanks for your post, I did find a "true IC" job which I took then...sm
and have been very happy with ever since, real freedom, great people, great system to work with......I think I applied, tested, interviewed, etc, with at least 20 to 30 companies before I was blessed to find the right one for me....don't EVER be afraid to interview the company and recruiter vigorously, talk to folk who have worked there, Google as much info as you can, be sure your info is fairly new.....yes, recruiters are the cheerleaders for the company, understandably, i was able to not only speak with the recruiter, but with the MTSO/owner/boss, and she even game ME referenes for her companies, other MTs working for her (she had their permission for this), all in all, best of luck and take your time evaluating!
I find your post amusing
Why in the world if someone posts on here speaking lovingly of VR, does that automatically mean they are not doing the same job as you and I (transcription)? I worked for years and years straight typing and several times I had people come into the office at the hospital where I worked and would seek me out wanting to watch me type because I typed so fast. To assume that anyone loving only is slow is a total myth and all in their minds. I type 130 or more an hour. I did not ask to go to VR and was really upset when told the hospital where working was going to that. I had worked for the hospital 13 years when VR came along for us. I wanted to stay with the same hospital and dictators. After trained on VR, then came the outsourcing for our department. Well by this time I was up in age, middle 50s and frankly I did not want to hit the pavement trying to find another job. I knew nothing about MTSOs or the like because had always in my MTing years just worked in hospitals doing this type of work. I now am going into my 19th year working still for the same hospital still in the same town, the only difference is my employer is located thousands of miles away. I love VR because I make a good salary, still fast (get some occasional straight because there are interns that dictate from the hospital) but I stayed with VR because of the above reasons. Believe me, not everyone who loves has to be an owner. Never an owner and do not care for a headache like that. I for one second do not doubt the person's typing speed. In the 80s I made almost $70,000 for the year, not bad for a slow typist, huh?
Well said. Never worked for D&L but when I read the "IC" post, that was my thought as well..nm

Actually, I thought her post was professional. Do you work at MDI? I doubt it.
she can most likely weed out the MTs just by their posts anyway if she's dealt with them at all. She did the right thing to simply state MDI MTs can come to her IF they have concerns. It's great to share info, but not ALL posts are by sister MTs sharing the good word. There are many, many who love to incite drama and there are always 2 sides to every story! Anyone can come on here and claim they are great MTs and do all that is expected of them yet are treated terribly by a company, but that sure doesn't make it the truth. About how many MTs do you think are at MDI? And how many individual MTs are here complaining? Not the same posters using different names but single persons. Do the math and figure out from that how many are unhappy at MDI, and my bet is your percentage will be low. I know of a lot of MTs very happy at MDI with enough work. But then I'm sure the naysayers will just claim those are the favorites or something.
I find your post embarrassing and offensive as well.
x
The pay is very low and they also offshore. If I can find the link, I'll post it.
.
If you find the original post so offensive, why did you respond at all?
Why don't you get a clue? A good number of people enjoyed this. If you dislike it, you can just move on to some rosy-happy-fun filled post and leave the rest of us to chuckle without being harassed.
On the contrary, I find your post refreshing and true. sm
I agree whole-heartedly that MTSOs AND MTs are in it for a paycheck. It's not personal. If you don't like your employer's treatment, find another company where their style is more to your liking.
Great post and very true! I read these today and was amazed that someone's first thought was pay
I agree that circumstances can make loans necessary but the OP sounded more like she uses these on a regular basis. No I'll have to learn to budget for the difference, just oh no, now I need to go to Payday Loans and pay 400% interest.
We have the potential to earn what we need to, although sometimes lately it is harder and harder.
Good for all of you. Wish I had seen these earlier.
p.s. Can someone call and tell my BIL to grow up too?
your post doesn't make much sense. Find another job then? That's what the rest of us do!
The lazyMT was from a prior post about testing..NOT about my personal habits. I find it odd that you
would reply with someone so insignificant and to which no one cares about your opinion. You don't know me and you certainly have no idea if I am lazy in regards to my lifestyle habits so go back where you came from, troll..
I find this post funny. If a company advertises constantly, posters question if they are losing peo
3 weeks, since 5/24, there are posts that question if they are growing. Who cares if a company is growing or not as long as they have enough work for their MTs. I started PT with KS two weeks ago and will be going FT 7/10 after my long-awaited and much-needed vacation. They have treated me very well and have plenty of work if the account I work on is any indication. I also came to them on the recommendation of several MT friends who work there, all of whom are very happy and have been for a while.
If you want to work for a particular company, your best bet is to contact them. I have read in several publications that more jobs are filled before advertising than after the fact.
Give them a call, especially if you like/love radiology!
I find your post sarcastic.... shrug shrug
What was the question again? Cannot find your post or question? NM
nm
Did find a Wright Watson Sten-Tel in Austin if their site isn't old. Find 'em with Google. nm
s
I actually thought of that. I even thought of trying to go back to MQ part-time!! (sm)
I just wonder about hours at a second company. I work days (and some nights) with this company. I have a set schedule but with the no work situtation I've been on the computer at all hours of the day and night. Right now I have no work, so I would love to jump on at a company #2 and start working. Do you have to have set hours at your company #2? Thanks for the suggestion.
Trying to find info on Encompass on this board, can't find any recent. sm
Anyone have any current info. Any employees out there? Give me the low-down if you can! Thanks a million.
My post should say the post above not the post below, Sheryl's post to be specific. nm

I forgot to add...sm
It is for radiology, not acute care. Sorry about forgetting to mention that! Thanks for any info about this.
I forgot
I am also mom to a 6-year-old boy and live with my boyfriend and his 13-year-old daughter so yes sometimes it is tough because of everyone demanding my time all at once.
I forgot to add, is that really their
incentive plan, sounds to good to be true. I am waiting for the other shoe to drop, cause that is one of the best I have seen.
Thank you very much. I forgot to ask.
Never know if it is sour grapes what you read here or not. I'm sure there are a lot of legitimate complaints, but hope this is not one of them! Again, thanks!
Forgot to say...sm
They hire IC. I believe part-time would be 50 minutes of dictation a day and full-time 100.
I forgot about that!
I forgot to add that to my lengthy reply. I also would get emails from two QA people on how to do something and then get dinged and would have to send copies of both emails to both editors and ask which way is it? I generally did not get replies to those.
oh i forgot,
they also try to pair you up with work types you want to do. I love op's, and have all i want of them.
Forgot to add...
You will see work that is so incredibly horrible...you won't believe it. You may also hear some of the worst and most inconsiderate slurring dictators. You will also be expected to provide feedback via email to the supervisor so the supervisor can forward it to the MT. You are not paid for sitting there typing all of this detailed feedback.
Again, the above is a truthful account of my experience.
forgot to add..sm
When I had doctors repetitively omit spellings, addresses, etc. I started leaving blanks, and the office manager or doc's secretary had to look up the information and fill the blanks in. These docs became very diligent about spelling names and providing addresses. I always said, we are not paid for secretarial duties. If I wanted to do that, I would have applied for that position.
Forgot to add...
I don't know what Becky's title is...but she needs to be second in line to the owner. She went above and beyond trying to help...but she can't make everything happen without the cooperation of others there at KS. I'm sure that whatever her salary is...it's not enough to compensate her for all that she does and all that she tries to do. She is definitely the saving grace for that company.
I forgot to add:
Like someone else said, if you are so miserable at DSG why dont you just quit? I hear Medquist is hiring!
Here's another one we forgot sm
We will hire you as an IC rather than pay benefits to you as an employee, yet will still require those things of you that the IRS determines MAKES you an employee because we know that you'd rather have a job than turn us in. True or False?
