with these types of reports but the pay is pretty shabby for a veteran MT.

If you'll read through past posts you'll find lots of
recent info. Why do you need menitoring if you already work as an MT. Unless you do clinic work most companies will require you to work at least one weekend day, at least initially.
If you'll read the archives you'll find out everything
you want to know, none of it good.

you will probably be complaining tomorrow if you can't work because of Wilma hitting Florida, when I see all the other complaints on this board about other companies, I certainly do not have a problem doing 30 minutes of dictation on weekends.

At 4 cpl for 10 hours, that amounts to $7.20 per hour, less than the minimum wage in the state I live in. I am glad you have good days to make up for this.

Interview is with local BIG hospital, but will work at home. I am looking for questions to ask at the interview. It will be with 3 people. Head MT, HR person, and MR manager. NEED input, questions to ask, what constitutes good pay, etc. I have done radiology before in-house, but no idea where to begin with off-site pay scale.

Usually it takes about two weeks allowing for an MT to give notice, our equipment to be shipped out, and you to be trained on the platform. If the MTSO you currently work for makes a business decision to off shore work are you supposed to quit? If the clients accept off shoring, then all the MTSOs will eventually do it. Only the clients have the ability to keep the MTSOs from off shoring.

Exactly what I am thinking - tomorrow is my last day - being laid off after 8 years with same company due to VR - The quality is horrible - how can they go from one day expecting perfect reports to not caring about the quality they get from VR - not working for 4 cpl - I'll clean toilets first

I'd ask if you could give them an answer on Monday, unless they seem desperate to get you started right away and make an immediate offer.
Personally, I'd make sure I called WMX before the other interview so I'd have a better idea of how to proceed. If WMX isn't going to make an offer, you'll know going into the other interview and can feel free to accept whatever they may offer.

You know, I would hate for my job to go out tomorrow but
I have a safety net now, not in years past. Am at an age to where if I lost my job, have other income. Others can revolt if they like, not this lady.

The physicians just started training on VR/EMR a few weeks ago, and we were told yesterday to start looking for jobs. Doctors that I thought would NEVER edit their work picked it up with the speed of lightening.....Unbelievable..

Have an interview with Nightingale tomorrow...
Anyone heard of them?? I can't seem to find much on them. I tested with them over a month ago, and they called today for an interview tomorrow. I have no idea what to expect from them, but I do believe they hire IC, and they may pay by the minute. Part-time is only 200 minutes a week.
I just started working for Sten-Tel this week, and so far I like it. Things could change though, so I'd like to keep my options open.
I think I will ask my lead tomorrow...I sure hope so..(sm)
the only thing is, I think it depends on what platform you're on...I am on Meditech and use a C-Phone. I think there might be more accounts with other platforms...maybe ExText has more accounts on them so they are able to give people on there more than one..I don't know how it works but I sure am going to ask. I would love a backup ER account!

Good luck to you. I hope you have a positive experience at MQ. I worked for 14 years for them, and I think they are great people to work with.
I'd call the recruiter tomorrow and ask what the
deal is. If you need $$ now waiting until 9/1 isn't helping and my the time you go through interviews/testing with other companies it will be about 9/1. They are hiring lots of people and I'm sure things are chaotic and you might fall through the cracks.
This is happening to me now, due to start tomorrow
with a new IC company paying 4/7 that ignored me once I was told I was hired. After two weeks and my prompting, I am scheduled to start tomorrow. I've yet to get a login or any information. I had decided to take the job mostly to get more updated experience on a new specialty account and hopefully make a bit more money. I'm not so sure about them now. Does the company you are talking about start with a D?
