Christmas gift appreciated, but turns out not to be a gift if there is no work the day after
Christmas Day. Yes, it was $25.00 (twenty-five). I lost that much this morning when there was NO WORK. I had so hoped to have a good paycheck this pay period, and was working very hard to have one -- as I need the money SO BAD.
I was appreciative of the $25, rather than some kind of novelty advertising token with company logo on it, like some MTSO's would give to a prospective client, etc. Oh, yes, I made very good use of the $25. I took it and paid my high-speed internet bill, a necessary tool for working my job -- which the $25 was very much short of paying that phone charge.
THANK YOU TT for the $25.

It would be nice to feel appreciated.
I feel I am just a number, On my 3rd national now. Maybe I should go with a smaller company. A little contact and maybe being acknowledged for the important work I do. Also bonuses or incentives, and of course, pay rates are dropping. I have found if you have 20 years experience or just 2 years doesn't make a difference, same low rates.
I got a nice card. That's enough for me. I feel appreciated too. sm

Although I feel this is not necessary, I certainly will use my travel mug. I also stil use my reading light from last year. Thanks to whomever is in charge of picking out this type of thing as you always find something that is either needed (without realizing it - i.e. the reading light) or something just fun like the mug (that can be used a lot).

I recently started at eTransPlus and they are giving us a 1-year subscription to Prevention magazine.
When I worked at Spheris, in different years they sent coffee mugs, insulated beverage bags, small gym bags, but the one that sent a lot of people over the edge was the year they sent us a snow-globe with a mini-computer inside that said Spheris on the screen and then around the base the slogan was:
*All around the globe, Spheris MTs are hard at work.* Just another unpleasant reminder of their *Follow the Sun slogan regarding their Indian workforce.
Our gift card and Christmas card were appreciated.. Check this out......
I have only worked for MDI a few months, but I can tell you they appreciate their MTs. Compared to the doctor I have worked for 9 years for and whom USED to give me a $1000 bonus, but this  year.. NOTHING.. I had been working both jobs, but that made me decide to tell the doctor to take a hike and devote all my time to MDI.. where I'm appreciated...

I appreciated the Christmas card and gift card..
I don't feel that the MDI/Transcend plays favorites at Christmas. I appreciated the thoughtfulness of the signed Christmas card and gift card. Also, I work the holidays when someone on my team wants the day off. This is a good company to work for. I agree with the above posts--if you're not happy, there are other companies who may suit you better. Happy Holidays to all!

Last year, from Keystrokes we got Blockbuster gift cards for Christmas and for MT week sm
we got candles and candy. I always get a birthday card too, which is very nice.
Transcend always sends a nice handwritten card and a gift card
I just got my card today, and it is still five days before Christmas.
You really cannot please all the people all of the time, even when it comes to gift giving. I am so surprised at some of these comments.

Medware is 32 hrs/week for FT
I have been with them for almost a year, started PT and then went FT. I needed insurance and at $17 a week the coverage is very good, United Healthcare. Medware is an excellent company, I am happy working for them. Good luck to you.

I know what you mean about getting nervous when no work is available, I am the same way! The company I am with now offered overtime for this past weekend and for the past several weekends (which are my regular days) and I have run out of work on countless occasions. TT sounds great, think I will make the jump. Thanks again for your input.
