and the MQ board has a post from Goldbird stating that there is no proof of such.
If it is true, it wouldn't be the first time. Secondly, it wouldn't be much of a surprise since it's been all over the business news that Philips (the majority stockholder) announced it wants to sell.
As a current employee of MQ, I certainly don't think things can get much worse at MQ, so maybe a new owner would be a good thing. Fortunately, I have a backup plan and can just sit back and watch this one play out.

Two replies have been removed. One was by BDTD and it was followed up by KS Team Leader. They are one in the same.

I would have to assume it is because Davis supports mtstars although Davis has never advertised for employment here. They use the 'other' MT job site.
Pay has never been on a timely schedule and comes late no matter what is said differently. There have been many instances of bounced checks. Because of that and problems being able to have work every day, I left there. The pay scale was just re-vamped so I don't know what kind of money can be made. That'll have to be answered by someone else. Maybe with the new payscale payment will be able to be made on a regular, timely schedule.
Things are always changing so who knows? Maybe it would be a good fit. Good luck.

I removed the posts after speaking directly to the owner of the company. If
you have questions or concerns you need to take it up with her. There is one specific person causing most of this grief. I have CHOSEN to remove the posts, I was not forced to.

There is one below who did just that, just to see who would agree with someone who was flaming her for being hard on *whiners*, but she outed herself and admitted she had done it just to get *credit due her*. I think we should all be *registered* under a forum name, so that when we post, it will not be quite so anonymous anymore and potentially stop a lot of the incessant picking on of other posters and their opinions. and this is just my opinion. This is the only board I have ever frequented where a person is allowed to post under any such name they want, and cause such havoc. jmo.

Posters placing threads and replies about unions are expected to follow the same guidelines and policies that all other posters follow. Making derrogatory statements about MTStars while utilizing its resources is not going to be tolerated. Encouraging posters in practices that are not advisable for MTStars posters is not going to be tolerated, either.
MTStars allows you to discuss your topics on the Company and Main boards but each poster must still be appropriate. Posts with inappropriate information will be removed; posters who engage inappropriately may be banned. There are no special circumstances either way for those discussing the union topics than any other topic on MTStars' boards.

automatically. Look near the bottom of this post and click on the blue vote/moderate and go from there. I've already voted, so need 9 more. This person does need to be banned though and as they represent themselves as being SS management, then SS should also be banned.

last fall before I left due to a constant lack of work. At that time, the plan was to not cut the cpl rate.

anyone care to share if OSi has improved. I tested with them and scored very high and hopefully will be hearing from them soon. Would like to know if the platform is MT friendly/how hard to make production? I'm not interested in benefits and I assume the rate is what is considered standard with most companies - just need to know if I can sit down, work and be as productive as possible. TIA

I really appreciate all your replies and this discussion as a whole. It's helped shed some light on things.
What I'd really like to see is some kind of checklist that we could all go by to ensure that we are ICs, that the businesses are not trying to slide around any laws, and that we're treated the way we should be treated. Something that is MT specific, uncomplicated, and clear-cut for both sides.
I'm afraid I don't have the knowledge (or experience, especially) to put something like that together. But I sure would help any way I can.
I'd like to get together an action committee of some sort to straighten this out with businesses that are reported to be guilty of stress fracturing these laws. That would probably be less painful for all involved, but still achieve the desirable outcome.
In addition, something like this would really help empower MTs who don't understand the importance of what being an independent contractor means.
Empowerment through education and all that. It's a good thing. I think, as a whole, most MTs just don't know what they don't know - and go by rumors and rumors of rumors on internet forums. It's what I was guilty of for so, so long.

The CLK job has been removed as we do not allow
job posts advertising pay of less than .05 cpl. Even for a new MT, anything less than .05 cpl is entirely too low even as a learning wage. We welcomed the company to repost offering .05 cpl as a learning wage of pay.

I don't believe it is legitimate for several reasons including the fact it mentions benefits for ICs (ICs do not receive insurance benefits or any benefits) and they ask for money up front for background checks. You should not have to pay to interview or work for any company advertising here.

I would open the discussion by calmly
asking what the procedure is for assigning work. If you don't get the info you need, ask if there are any other accounts available which will enable you to be more productive. If you are working in an atmosphere where you are afraid to ask questions, it sounds like the wrong job and you might need a change. Good luck.

further below and someone told me when they were hired they were asked to work 2 Saturdays a month...if you scroll down there are some answers to other questions about MDI-MD..Hope this helps!
