I recruit for a company that has had ups and downs on this board and have some insight.
I attended MTIA a few weeks back and spoke with other recruiters and some established MTSOs and some just starting to build their MTSOs. What I learned is that most companies are alike in many ways, and most want to improve. The common factor was often that they want to do more for their employees but get slapped in the face too often by MT's who do not work when they are supposed to, do not produce what they commit to and think that they are better than they actually are but cannot take criticism of any sort. There are a lot of MTSOs who do not offshore, but they are frustrated by MT's who want more and more and give less and less. It's a catch 22 for them too, so maybe it's time for everyone to step back and reevaluate.
As a recruiter, I sometimes get 100 resumes a week. Most do not even get past that first contact and here is why:
When I get a resume that has a typo in it, I do not even acknowledge it. I shred it. I have learned that if someone cannot be accurate on their first impression, they will not be later on. You'd be surprised how many resumes and cover letters are full of obvious typos.
If we have a help wanted ad that specifies 2 years of experience required, half the resumes will be from students or those with no experience. They can be very demanding and rude at times, which is no way to treat a potential employer.
If we have a specific ad for hours and/or days, about 40% of the responses are for something completely different.
We now have auto reply for resumes but will probably get rid of that in the near future. Many applicants take the auto-reply as a sign that they are being considered even if they are not, especially the often very pushy offshore applicants, even though our ads say no offshore applicants will be accepted.
Another thing that I see far too often is that some applicants, right up front, demand certain days and hours and pay, no matter what our ad says.
Finally, here is the biggest turn off for me: Failure to follow instructions. Our ads always say that we do not accept attachments, to paste resumes into email. However, there will be days when every single email I receive has an attachment. I have now set it up to send emails with attachments to spam, which automatically empties each night. Those that go into spam do not get an auto-response. That's the way I set it up and it works well. Why should I respond to each one that blatantly ignores instructions? Again, if someone cannot follow instructions when applying, they most likely will not once employed.
There are a lot of wonderful, experienced, hard-working MT's in the U.S. who follow instructions, keep their word and take pride in producing quality reports. It takes a while for us to get the great employees but we keep sorting through junk to get to them, just as they have to sort through companies to eliminate the bad ones.
I have recruited for 4 different companies over the last 10 years. While they can be very different in many ways, most are pretty decent and want to treat their employees well, but they are getting burned out by being burned over and over again.
MTIA opened my eyes. If we do not start working together, the U.S. companies will start sending everything offshore where the employees want and need the work. The offshore companies were out in force and they are looking for ways to improve, which is scary. They WANT to take over, and we are giving them a lot of opportunity.
Don't let anyone fool you. AHDI and the big-wigs from the big companies are VERY friendly with the offshore companies. Their work is getting better and their prices are better and U.S. only companies might be phased out because of this. We need to take back our industry or offshore companies and VR are going to take it from us.
Polish your skills, make sure that your resume is perfect and be persistant.

that's who they recruit for and
possibly another company
Who do you recruit for?
If you don't mind sharing.
You recruit for what company? Why so shy?
x
Do you recruit MTs for Keystrokes or not?
They all post below, but not yet one of them will say what company they recruit for. What is sm
up with that? Does anyone wonder? LOL. I sure do.
Because recruiters get paid to recruit....SM
Would prefer to hear some opinions of those that have possibly already been there and done that. Thanks for your input. :)
Who does Louise Hancock recruit for? (on job-seek
nm
"Hiring Manager", and who calls them that, who exactly do you recruit for that you make 42 K s
recruiting? You have been asked, but still do not answer. Fraud? I think so. Most recruiters are frauds. If you do indeed make that much, then from whom? And what do the MTs make?
Same exact message a few weeks ago and poster is the manager trying to recruit.
Which is fine but you should really try to keep posting as the one person you are CMT-me. You make it appear that you have employees recommending you when in fact you are the one that is doing your own recruiting but you should not pose as another employee.
I find that people who refuse to say who they recruit for are frauds. Nonsense.

Synthescribe
Can anyone give positive/negative comments on Synthescribe.
Synthescribe
No, Heather works for Synthescribe America in Tennessee. The Synthescribe you are talking about is Synthescribe, Inc. located in the Phillipines that requires a photo ID. Two totally different companies. Look them up on the internet.
Synthescribe
I was hired for that company and quit after a week. There is no way I would go back to working for that place. They are embarrassed of their reputation on this board because everybody is telling the TRUTH about them. I hope somebody else starts telling the TRUTH about them on the other board. They probably could not get anybody to come work for them because of all of the negative feedback!!!
Synthescribe
The Synthescribe person has the initials of HR who the recruiter is working with....
Synthescribe QA
How many reports are you averaging per day (QA)? Is there a required daily quota? Are the reports of decent quality or are there tons of corrections? Are you being paid on time? Direct deposit?
Thanks
Synthescribe QA
Any current QA folks care to comment on promptness of payment? Are you being paid accurately and on time with this company?
Thanks.
It's Synthescribe
It's also known as Synthescribe

I have yet to receive my W2 from Synthescribe, and the time is getting late. Has an previous employees received a W2 yet? I am really anxious, as there is no way to contact the now defunct company whose owner's name is or was Tammy Johnson. Can anyone help me? I'm wondering if she is planning to send W2s. I believe they fired all of us in April or Feb 08.
Synthescribe America in TN
The company is located out of Tennessee and not the Phillipines.
Heather at synthescribe
I do not like outsourcing at all - I certainly do not want to work for one either.
Synthescribe editors, please!
Are any of you up to 80 reports per 8 hour shift? If so, how are you doing that? I am new as an Editor for them, and just wondering how you manage to get the 80 reports. Any pointers would be great! Thanks..........
I know for a fact, this is SYNTHESCRIBE
nm
AAMT is still Synthescribe nm
nm
AAMT is Synthescribe .....
These 2 companies are 1 in the same. I know, I worked there for 5 months and when they lost an account they fired all of us. They transitioned the name All American Medical Transcription back in November. They do have direct deposit and they did pay me, but they make rules and changes very abruptly. Personally, I would stay away!
Looking for information on Synthescribe of America out of TN....
nm
This company is Synthescribe of America
nm
Synthescribe uses "several" names....
Synthescribe, Allusmts, All American Medical Transcription, etc. Who knows how many other names they also have to try and get MTs to apply with them because of their very bad reputation.
I had HORRIBLE experience with them when they hired me back in December of this past year. They had this huge orthopedics account they needed help desperately on, but when they got the work all caught up, they fired or laid off everybody. The QA manager was so mean and nasty. She send the ugliest e-mails. Found out she left or got fired also after being there for 11 years.
The company is very sneaky with their MTs and you cannot trust them at all. I would STAY FAR AWAY from them. They know how to screw the MT and the client!!!
The one recruiting is "friends" with the synthescribe person sm
and has a full time job making good money. i miss your point??
Since it is the same as Synthescribe, dont bother waiting.
You would probably not like it anyway.
Seems unethical to me to change a company name because you got bad feedback about being an Indian company.

Ad posted by Heather Rigsby for Synthescribe requests
you send a 2 x 2 picture of yourself. Is this legal? They have an office in the Phillipines, which would prevent me for applying to start with, but I certainly wouldn't apply to any company that requests a picture of me first.
Opinions please. We have established that Synthescribe and All American Transcription are ran by the
same CEO/COO..So, previously when I considered applying at Synthescribe, I was put off by the negative feedback left here so I didn't apply. Then, comes a new company, AATS, which we soon figured out was being started by the same person running Synthescribe. I am tempted to apply, but if it's the same CEO/COO, shouldn't I heed the warnings of the MTs who say not to do it. I'm confused. Part of me wonders if I shouldn't give them a try, but I think I'd be more apt to do that had it been a new company with different management. Something about a leopard not changing its spots....What's your opinion? Would you try it? Thanks
Did anyone hear from AAmT aka Synthescribe and proceed on..Just curious
how it's going and if your set up to work with them etc. Considering going forward to check it out but wanted to check with others first. Thanks
If they weren't Synthescribe, they wouldnt have the same phone number.
regardless of what they SAY.
