I have been with them a week now and have been getting discouraged. Tech problems yesterday and only 6 reports in 3 hours. I hope it picks. Listening to you makes me feel lots better.

Maybe they save this behavior for their ICs. There is no reason for me to lie. They are threatening in the way they DEMAND that you work a set schedule, even though one is SUPPOSED to be an IC.
The micromanaging comes in when as an IC you don't log in exactly at the SCHEDULED time to work.
Bottom line, TTS does not respect the law when it comes to IC workers. Period. They will eventually be dealt with if they do not begin to follow the law.

Unlike most MTSOs, everyone is very professional and kind. There is plenty of work. The pay is average and they only hire IC status. The platform is Word-based and very easy to use. I love working for them. The only thing I don't like is the fact that they mail paychecks. Other than this, it's great.

I also received an IC contract from another company that says the same thing. You are an IC. They don't guarantee you any work. If there is no work, no pay. This is standard for an IC. I QA for them and have had very little work since I started. No work, no pay.
As far as the 'no liability' portion, I must have overlooked that. Why would you speak to an attorney and then come here asking for opinions. What did your attorney tell you? Seems like you would listen to him/her.

There pay rate sucks.
I am a new MT and I currently make 3.0 cents per line. After I receive my CMT after 5 years I can go up to 4.0 cents per line. This sucks.
Otherwise, they are a good company and they usually have plenty of work. However, try and negotiate a higher pay rate!!

I had the same experience with Sten-Tel. The bank was always empty. I told them I do their stuff prn and got another job. Haven't been back since. Now my job is going to whoever will do it cheaper than me, and I hate to think of going back to Sten-Tel. They're pay was like 9 cents for every 11 words and it sucked. I could flip burgers for more than that. Not to mention they was verbatum. Doc said, patient is no longer oranges. I typed, The patient is no longer eating oranges. They marked it wrong and told me to just type what is said. Remember, some foods can interact with drugs. I'd be real proud to be on staff with a coompany that puts out sentences like that!

I have never had a problem with receiving my check on time. I have already received this month's paycheck. Maybe there is something up with your local post office...you know how they can be.

Anybody work for Sten-Tel and actually got off of QA?
I have worked with them before and quit because of the QA. Well I just recently started back about 2 months ago b/c I was desperate and hoping maybe they would be different but it is the same old crap. Their QA is ridiculous. They will keep you and keep you on QA forever. I guess I need to start looking for a different company. Has anyone worked with them and actually got approved and taken off of QA? If so, how long did it take you? The other company I work for had me off QA in 2 days...so I know that it is not my work quality that is keeping me on QA.

I've sent in several requests for more work, and I just am not getting the lines I need. I love the company but I have bills to pay. Problem is, I'm a newbie (less than 2 years, anyhow). So I was just wondering if anyone else is running into this, or if you have advice on how to get around it?

Anyone work for Sten-Tel doing the VR work?
The ad says most of the work is editing, obviously, and 20% transcribing. I could use a break on my hands!!!! It also says 9 cents a line. And she makes a comment about doubling your production. Well 9 cents a line and you only have to listen to the dictation and edit and then occasionally transcribe, that sounds great.
Just wondering if anyone works for them currently doing this. What is your experience with this?

Great company and I hear that work will
soon be picking up. I was hired recently, too, and I am willing to wait on some more work just to have the nice people to work for. Also, they pay half of the social security tax, not half of your taxes. But compared to IC deductions, that is a big help.

one or two other times a month, never excessive like a certain company that is rah-rah'd on here. No problem with communication in the two years I have been with them!
Gheesh! Some people have something to complain about no matter what, surprised if even a Keystroke's employee. It is easy to form an opinion when only a handful of employees post here.
Now I hear this company plays games with the work flow when you
start getting a higher line count. This is not surprising. I have BTDT and don't want to go through it again. There are enough posts now for me to say I am just done with the whole thing altogether and I am not a happy camper! Thanks for your feedback here and below. Saved me some headaches!
That's sad. I work for them and I have been happy
and have not run out of work but that huge account that they did get is supposed to be starting soon (I might switch to it) so if that made you nervous, that is sad. Some companies do not falsely advertise.

Happy where I work
I have been a MT for many, many, many years lol. I work at Keystrokes. I make good money, type radiology reports, have plenty of work, can work weekends. This company has grown, made lots of changes for us. I have worked for companies that make promises, tell you that the accounts are great, plenty of work and most of the time not true. I plan on retiring with Keystrokes. This is my opinion, as I know not every company can make every person happy. But, this company makes me happy and I pay my bills on time, which is a good thing.

than I need allowing me to pick and choose but always find it a challenge to try new companies and platforms and new work types. I was interested in DSG because of their platform which is excellent.
I am glad to hear that a lot of money can be made with MT work. This gives me hope for the future.

They are very nice to us and value their employees, and they have the quarterly bonus like MQ had ($50 for 10,000 lines, etc.). They are an up and coming company that does not send to India.

Work is plentiful, the pay is okay (there is a nice incentive tier), the benefits are good, and the management staff is terrific.
Good luck. I have ended up with jobs I hated, and that is definitely an unhappy place to be in.

I work with MD-IT Louisville Division, very happy-sm
I started working for MD-IT in October and it has been a fabulous fit for me! I work in the Louisville Division, there are several others. The work is steady, sometimes overwhelming, but manageable, at least in my accounts. They try not to overstaff the accounts. MD-IT share their transcriptionists across the board and if your primary and secondary run out, they can find you work elsewhere rather quickly. The people are wonderful to work with and friendly. Pay is average, but it is fine for me. There is very little ESL, and what ESL there is is fairly easy to understand. Your coordinator is just an IM message or a phone call away and very helpful. I hope this helps.

I believe you can get overflow work if your doctor does not dictate on any given day, if there is any overflow work on that day. My pay has always been on time. I highly recommend them.
exactly....all of the people that I know that work for Keystrokes are happy and love their job...
move on if it is not the right fit for you...there are plenty of other companies out there...

I work in Meditech for KS and am VERY happy. I average 300+ lph. I prefer it as sm
it is like WP5.1, which I loved. To each his own.
There are also two types of Meditech, Magic with is like WP5.1 and Client, which is a Word-based program.
I am not her spokesperson just happy with the company I work for and upset that people can be so sm
misleading because the fit was not good for them.
If you have been on these boards a while, you would know that she always posts her name. I emailed her today to tell her what was happening on here, and the response I got back was she does not even look on here as it is too upsetting and has promised herself not to come and look. She has too much else to do with her time and defending herself and her company is always misinterpreted. She basically told me I should spend more time working or with my family than spending time on this soap opera. It is better to not care and let people form their own opinions. Everyone takes the postings with a grain of salt anyway. I think it is sad that she has to be so tough-skinned.
