They have some very nice people and I like my account. I am an employee because I need healthcare benefits. I also like the direct deposit, that was a big change from where I came from. All in all I think they are a good company, I needed steady work and pay coming in to support myself. HTH.

don't get me started on medscribe
HOw can u not work the budgeted lines? It's easy when the line counter is not honest.
I started at MedScribe
I have been there almost 6 months and the work is steady and pay is on time (direct deposit) so that was the 2 major factors I looked for. Very happy. Good luck to you. K.
I started with MedScribe about 6 months ago
I have an acute care account that I work on and also do a little ER for a secondary account. I do work one weekend day but they have kept me in work and pay is every other Friday, direct deposit. That is a big plus from where I came from. Good luck to you. Karen.
Started at MedScribe 3 months
I was attracted to the sign-on bonus, which is nice because they pay it $100 a pay period so I did not have to wait for 6 months or a year. I like my super and have plenty of work, I use InstaText and that converted just fine. I did not need the insurance but it is a nice package, they pay every two weeks by direct deposit. I have not heard of the other company you mentioned but I did come from a VERY large company and it is nice working for a smaller one, first name basis is a change. Good luck to you.
Started 2 months ago at MedScribe
Acute care starts at 8 and they have 2 incentive levels which adds another 3/4. That is for employee status with healthcare. Benefits are affordable (Aetna) and they pay by DD every 2 weeks. I have always had work and my team leader is very nice, she came from MW. The platform is Word based and I have all of my expander. After I applied I started in about 5 days. They have been very nice and I can honestly say, so far so good. Glad I left my rather large company to work for a smaller one, it's nice to be called by my first name for a change. Leanne.
MedScribe for about a year
I have no complaints and they pay a fair line rate. Plus my insurance is affordable and I need the coverage. Some may not need healthcare but you just never know when that situation will change and I am glad they have a decent package. I like the direct deposit, big change from where I came from. Good luck to you.
MedScribe for almost a year.
Very happy, pay on time (direct deposit) and the insurance is not too bad, Aetna. I like my manager and always have work. Hope that helps, they have been good and I like my primary. Good luck to you.
MedScribe for 1 year now
They are nice people and I stay in work. I do have their healthcare and it is with Aetna at about $38 a week. I also like the fact that we have direct deposit as in the past I was chasing my check with a previous employer. Their system is word based so I kept all of my expanders, tech support was helpful. Good luck to you. Karen.
I have been at MedScribe for about 1 year
They are very nice to work for, I enjoy a smaller company. I like my account and have plenty of work. I also make a nice bonus every pay with their incentive program. Higher rate for just 1400 per day. Hope that helps, good luck to you. Karen.
I have been with MedScribe for a year
They have been a good company to work for and I always have work. I was looking for a steady paycheck as I came from IC status before MedScribe. They pay every 2 weeks by direct deposit and the insurance is reasonable. My team leader is super nice and overall I have been very happy. Look around like I did and compare what others have to offer and good luck to you. Karen.
MedScribe for the past year
Started almost one year ago and have enjoyed everyone there. Stay in work, like my super and pay is every other Friday, direct deposit and on-time. I also have their Aetna healthcare, it is a good plan and affordable. HTH.
I had an interview with the Medscribe in Florida about a year ago.
IMO, the recruiter needs a lesson in Professionalism 101. He, out of the blue, proceeded to put down the previous company he recruited for, Medware. I thought that was really tacky of him. I never brought up Medware during our conversation -- just was really strange.
I started there at the beginning of this year, and..
have had no problems whatsoever. Never had to call even once about a late paycheck. I have the schedule that they gave me sitting in front of me right now. It gives all of the pay periods through 12/31/05, and the exact date that the check will be deposited in the bank. It has never been late; always on time. You can even go online a few days before your scheduled deposit, and see the amount that is going to be deposited on pay day. Are you sure she worked for the same company?
Started 1 year ago, very happy
I enjoy my account and my team leader is very nice. The benefits are affordable, they use United Healthcare, and pay is every other Friday by direct deposit. The software is easy to learn and use and my Expander was compatible. Hope that may help, good luck to you.
Anyone who started with CyMed this year still with them? What do you like about them? nm

I started at Medware 1 year ago
They have been a good company to work for. I have plenty of work in my primary account, and have gone to my secondary on occasion. I like my team leader and also having direct deposit, something that is way better than the checks I used to wait forever on at my old service. Medware may not be for everyone but I have enjoyed everyone from tech support to training to my team leader.
I started at Medware 1 year ago
They are a good company and have work. I started out PT as I worked out my notice and then went full time. They have accounts that use EXText and I love that software, easy to make a good line count. I like being paid by direct deposit and the health insurance is about $17 a week, so that seemed affordable to me. Good luck to you.
I started as an employee a year ago
They give you a 12 hour window to work within so I like that flexibility. The other big factor that made a difference for me was the direct deposit, I was an IC at another company and was looking for employee with insurance. The insurance is with Aetna and it is a great plan, but as with good insurance it costs about $40 per week. But it is a PPO with a low deduct and I can also use my prescription card when I have to. I compared at the time and it seemed to be about as much as what other companies offered but a better plan. They are nice people to work with and I stay busy, that helps too. Good luck in your search.
Once people started to leave last year
and the company was up for sale and more office employees started to leave, we should have seen it coming. All the red flags were present I just didn't want to believe it..such a sad day..I wonder if anyone will work this week?
If you had asked this a year ago, I might have said that I was not happy and actually started sm
to look for another job. I have seen really big changes in a lot of areas since then, the biggest one being communication. I would not even consider leaving now. I have been with them for almost 3 years.
I know of 2 MTs from reputable schools who started w/o the 2 year exp. nm
.
I was started at 8.5 and given a raise after a year to 9 cents sm
I know that I hired on at a time when they were desperate and I have many years of experience, hence the more than usual. I was also an IC.
I have not heard of anyone else getting a raise, however. Employees were given a line count incentive and told if they wanted more money to work more. ICs had no such luck. They are management top heavy with a team leader and at least 1 QA for each team, 6 teams at the moment. They also have an MT manager, an IT manager with 4 people under him, and 6 people to go after new accounts (few new accounts while I was there), an office manager and 2 or 3 people who do payroll and human resources. LOADS of support people means the MTs who actually do the work get paid less. Keep in mind, they only have about 225 to 250 MTs at any given time. Top heavy.
Where I work now, we have an office staff of 7 and about 13 other support people for 350+ MTs. You'd think I'd have problems getting questions or problems solved and I don't. They are right there 24/7. Result? We get paid more per line.
I don't know, Zylo was a great place when I was there and has steadily gone to pot over the past 6 to 9 months.
I started at 8 cpl, was increased to 9 cpl in 3 months and 9.5 in a year. nm

I was hired and started in 1 week. That is not a long set-up time. When I started with our local h
I needed to get a physical and go through orientation at the hospital which is only given two times per month. This is a 900-bed hospital, so it cannot be an unusual process. MQ took 2 weeks. KS took 1 week. SoftScript never got me started even after repeated calls and emails.
I have only been with KS for 9 months but would never put them in the same catagory as the others you mentioned. They are the best company I have worked for, and unfortunately, I have bounced around a little in the last 5 years.

my first year I made 16k. Doubled that second year. Going on year 6 with (sm)
two local accounts I earned 23,000.00 and a national I earned 35,400... 58,400 this year. Don't ask me how many hours, though, I really have no idea. I'm pretty motivated. (When people ask me how many hours I work a week I reply as many as it takes I'd say 40-50/week. I am also a fitness instructer and personal trainer, about 5 hours a week or so. Decent money (sometimes under the table!) but mostly I just do it for fun and to be social and wear cute work-out clothes.
that first year was a rough one... but I consider it part of my education.
I'm pretty motivated.
Last year, there was a letter sent that told us what we earned the previous year. sm
In the past, it has been all or nothing; if you did not hit the lines for full time for the year, you did not get PTO. I talked to my lead this morning about a last-minute vacation and she told me that the yearly packets are going out in a week or so and that the new policy will acrue PTO by the pay period or month. I like that a lot better, but she also made it sound like they are upping the amount of lines needed to acrue PTO. I normally get between 15 and 20,000 lines per pay period, so I am sure that will be fine but I am worried about the periods that have lower volumes, like most of January every year.
Webmedx lets you carry them from year to year sm
You can accrue up to 140 hours (I think) before you stop the accrual process. Don't have to use it all in one year.
I would stick it out, most places are slow now through the end of the year every year (nm)

Last year $36K part time, going to make more this year full time BUT sm
I AGREE it IS getting harder to make money. I used to make $24 very part time 10 years ago and now...well it is Word and platforms versus WP5.1. I got 7.5 cents a byte line then and I get 9.5 cents a character line now. That IS a huge different in point of fact.
OH I WANT MY WORDPERFECT 5.1 BACK!!!!! Bwaaah!
That's MEDSCRIBE, sorry. nm

BEware of Medscribe......... Listen to this.......I've had Susan interviewing and calling me for three months on an Editor position at $17/hr. Well, after being told I did NOT get the job (even tho I was never tested), she had the nerve to call me back a week later and said the job reopened and she wanted me for it. I tried calling her and leaving messages for three days. She never returned my calls. I finally got ahold of her and she had the NERVE to tell me that the original person changed their mind and took back the position? Did anyone ever hear of this? So to all of you out there.......stay clear of Susan!!!!
Medscribe
SM, Yes it is all about me....it is about how all of us as potential hires should be treated. Besides, Ms. L did not even test for the QA position.....so the question is, was there really a position????
Medscribe
No, I'm sure she thinks ONLY about what is good for her not caring about how she plays around with other people. Sorry, but I don't have to take this kind of treatment and let her know it.
Medscribe
They're not the only one I've been working with one here in Canada and the same thing. I thought maybe it was me that was wrong but that's what they did too..mind you we got $1.50 to put up with it and work ha work we did or at least me!!!!

What's the story with these people? I tested before Christmas and never heard back (I know I did well). Today they didn't answer an Email. Should I keep on truckin'?

Things can change a lot in FOUR YEARS. I cannot imagine they would have been able to keep up that practice and still be around today. Maybe a person should simply ask them about the incident four years ago; you'd have nothing to lose and as an applicant, I would think they would HAVE to tell the truth about it. The problem is sometimes just ONE incident can get out of hand, repeated a little differently, and a different story could come out other than the real story. I'm not saying your friend didn't get paid. I'm just saying NO company could get away with this kind of protocol and still be in business.

anyone have a clue why Medscribe is constantly advertising for MTs?
medscribe
I don't know why, but whenever I post about this company it is not able to be found in the archives. I have posted many times about how miserable I was while working there. I didn't trust their line counter but I think worst of all was the way the talked down to me and scolded me for not making line counts which by the way... i normally could do but their accounts are MOSTLY re recorded and very VERY bad ESLs.... on top of a faulty line counter.

I did three weeks with them. Only filling in headers, sent to office where THEY input the macros (which we did not get paid for doing, of course) and I think I averaged about $3 per hr. A friend of mine got stiffed for her paycheck and they got threatened with illegal interstate activity because they were doing their business over state lines via phone. She got her money but it tooks MONTHS. This was a couple of years ago, but I don't think they've changed. Stay away from this place. The owner is a classical jerk.

I am interested hearing about your experiences there. I read the story about the gal who had to sue to get paid, and before I went to work there, I asked about it. They denied it vehemently, but in the proceeding 4-6 months, I had 2 checks that went missing. I really do not know if it was the fault of the post office or not, but I was not impressed. I also am not very impressed by the support system in place at this point, but would rather dish that privately.
I have been considering other employment because I always meet my minimum line count, and my quality scores seem to average in the 98% range, and I rarely take time off, but having only worked for HealthScribe (which I would almost take back right now) and MedScribe, I really don't know what a good company looks like. I am pretty specific at this point about what I want in a company, but it seems like they tell you what you want to hear and is not necessarily true.

Does anyone work for Medscribe and if so, can I get some feedback - considering working with them. Thanks.

Does anyone have info on medscribe out of NJ? there seems to be one in Florida but would really like to know if anyone has experience with medscribe in NJ. Thank you in advance.

Wow. I was just about to apply because their ad sounded good. I read the archives and realize I sidestepped a mess. I want to thank all of you for coming together and sharing your experiences so that others are forewarned.
