Kind of makes you think, doesn't it? They just use that one tired rave review of yours.
As far as not having a problem with you being gone -- you're an IC! You're SUPPOSED to be able to be gone when you need to be. It is another place that doesn't seem to know the meaning of the idea of being an IC, although that is par for the course nowadays and I really cannot point them out as being the only one who does that.
It would seem best to let the CardioScribes thread die, but you had to bring it to the foreground again.

I have a fun question ask everyone: what (and yes I am saying what not who we don't want names) What was the worst doctor you had to type for? I have typed for doctors from Bolivia, Portugal, and Czech all with English as their second language.. I could do them just fine after I figured out the basics. The worst doctor I ever typed for was from Texas. WOW could that man garble a sentence and fast - oh my gosh he talked fast. English was his first and only language.

So what about the poster above being instructed by the MTSO,
the poster's employer, to type everything as the doctor says it, even if it the grammar is improper or the sentences don't make sense?
In this case the MT's job IS to create a low quality document. According to the MTSO, the poster would not be doing the job correctly if the poster was creating a quality document.
What are this poster's options? Is it this poster's fault when you go read the record, and it is incomprehensible? Should this poster quit their job because they are following the dictates of the MTSO and hospital?
Again, why are the MTSOs/hospitals creating this environment not the target of your venom but the individual MTs?

In response to Dana, my supervisor doesn't answer ANY e-mail I send her so not sure how flexibility would work in that regard. My accounts with SR are absolutely awful; make changes pretty much throughout the entire report. It is nice to hear, though, that someone actually does well with this company. I have tried to find positives and I have yet to find one thing I can say I like about this company. It is a job, though, until I can find better....

And pay heed...As I recall, Jasper was the one to give his/her fellow MTs a heads up about the pay cuts. Although met with denial at the time, his/her post did prove to be true just a couple of weeks later.
If I worked for Acusis, I'd probably give very serious contemplation to this post and indeed start polishing up my resume.

We can't name other sites here for some reason, but ...
It's the big well-known site where just medical transcription jobs are listed. If you do a search under Google for medical transcription jobs it should come up as the first site -- it did for me.

I like it! Most sites having to do with career changes - sm
seem to be geared to high-powered professional types, or computer geniuses. We're in such a NICHE, (or is that just a nice word for 'RUT'?), and our skills are specialized. Also, quite a few of us have been doing this for 20 or 30 years, and have specific problems with changing careers because we concentrated all our energies into MT. I, myself, lack the BA Degree so many places seem to want, even for lower-paying jobs. I only got as far as an AA Degree, and it's in Art. Totally useless. So, currently looking not too far down the road to my 60s, the thought of going back to school (which for me would mean all the way back to high school math, chemistry, etc.), just doesn't seem to make a lot of sense. Still, I have to eat..........

Waited for someone to contact me and they did. It will happen eventually. You need to be specific with what you want and don't want. It's an everyday chore until you get the offer that best suits you.

Someone crashed 1 of USMLSU's hosting servers, but we have 3 backup sites :)
There are people that definitely feel threatened by this show of solidarity and the discord with reason.
Over the weekend one of the hosting company servers used by the Initiative (donated server space, bandwidth and email services to us) was hit with a SYN flood. The hosting company was rendered helpless for a few hours, because the attackers used lots of different IP addresses, but we have 3 other backup sites because we anticipated something like this.
They are afraid because we are all agreeing on many things that are wrong with our chosen industry. They are afraid because they have mistreated and cheated many of us, and if we are not at each other's throats they are no longer in control of our futures.
I have seen more intelligent, informed posts on this board in the past month than ever in my many years of visiting this site. I have faith in our joined strength and do believe that we are making a difference.
Why else would a server hosting company have only ONE server attacked this weekend - the server that housed one of our 4 sites.
The owners of WebHostPad are livid and bound and determined to prosecute the attackers. We have angered some powers that be to the point that they are willing to destroy a local business to stop us?

Someone just asked about Task. There are a few replies below. I was one of them who got interviewed, but as soon as she got on the phone with me she wanted more of a time committment. I can tell you they're lookin for someone to give at least 20-40 hours per week. Good luck.

I suppose all the Indians will be cussing us out as the work gets offshored back to the shores.
Although, and even though we joke, to a degree that has happened in some industries already. While they still maintain the largest portion of things like the tech industry, a noticeable portion has started to be offshored to places like the Ukraine and parts of Africa as the Indian wages have risen to fill the demand for employees.
You kinow, I get mixed messages with that.
There have been job applications that want to know every single thing, even what were you doing when you were unemployed, and they want the dates for that. I have had people complain when I didn't. However, I would rather put job experience pertaining to the position I am trying to get.

MTs, where there is no discipline displayed in public, there will certainly not be any in private after you're with the company. This should be extremely educational. Why anybody but the absolute newbies would go with this company after these recent posts is beyond me.
I know with Yahoo you can save messages
to your computer. You would have to play around to find it, but I know it's there because I can see all of my past msgs and they are time/date stamped.

It is hard to know if issues are purposefully being clouded (so we don't leave right away) or if like you say, they just really don't know. Yes, and even if they are saying IC and SE are available, you are right, everything is followed with the foreseeable future disclaimer, or I think or I believe. I know with MQ, eventually SE gave way to IC which gave way to total employee no choice, stay or go. .... ....
