I don't know about a Southern Transcription out of Valdosta, Georgia but worked for the one out of Taylorsville, Georgia. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about them, they are absolutely wonderful. QA is great, the owner is very sweet and informative, keeps her MTs up-to-date on everything that is going on with the company, always trying to improve things for her MTs and is always stomping the path to get more accounts. The pay is really decent, it is all hospital accounts and the platform that I worked on was Meditech, which I hated with a passion, lol. They do not over hire and there was always, ALWAYS plenty of work to go around. The only reason I left is because I had an opportunity to go back to work inhouse locally, I had been at home for a long, LONG time and was ready for some human contact again.

 Please steer clear of this one. the owner is rude, moody, and sends out emails YELLING (all caps) Threatening and if you try to contact other MTs who work on the same account with you, she gets hightly ticked off. I told her she was crazy and then was gone! Maybe she needed medication or something.

I work on the radiology account they are hiring for at Southern Transcription Services
and always have work. I have only run out a work a handful of times. It is a very busy account. It is a very good company to work for.

I have a friend up in San Francisco and she bought this nasty little starter home in a dangerous neighbrhood (gangs, drugs, but it was the only place she could afford to buy) for $350,000K. They are afraid to go out of their house at night. I once saw a two-bedroom condo listed in the SF paper for 2.2 million.

I lover my southern MTSO!
I absolutely love it when I have to talk to them on the phone cuz their accents are soooo cute and they are soooo polite. Being from Ohio I just love it, it makes my day. Plus, they never call to bug me, just quick questions from time to time but I never tire of hearing the accent. Also, never been happier with them and pay is fine.

I worked for a southern Pentecostal MTSO, and
she NEVER mixed business with religion because that would be interfering in our personal lives, and she was too respectful to ever do anything like that. I think it's pretty ignorant of you to take your specific experience and paint a whole region that way. I believe the correct term for that is 'prejudice' and I find it disgusting.

Hey everyone, check out this link. This is what we are up against. Be sure and note how 3M or whoever is the sponsor of this webinar throws in that dictation and transcription is time-consuming. Nevermind that EMR and VR take more time and money to be successful and it only takes 38 seconds to dictate a returning patient and 2 minutes to dictate a new patient versus 500 clicks on a point and click EMR or the mess VR makes and having to have an Editor come in and clean up the mess. Propaganda that we should know about.

Need pros and cons of Soap Transcription and US Transcription
I am looking for a new home and have applied and accepted by one of these companies. Hoping to hear from the other very soon. Can anyone tell me the good/bad of these 2 companies. Soap is out of Michigan and US Transcription is out of Iowa.

T-C Transcription
I started last week working for them. I was promised my main account would be radiology. Of course, lied to again. They have ME on five accounts. I have only done VA. The instructions for the account are absolutely ridiculous. Who has time to review 18 pages of dialogue for an account??? Then some have templates, and VA you have to fill in headers and footers, and use periods in MD and other stupid stuff. Then you have to do a monthly schedule, and I have had nothing but trouble with that. I sent it as an attachment, as required, but it is not the "right" format. I am supposed to have tech support fix my email, and the account manager is snooty as heck. I am literally shaking I am so frustrated and angry with this place. I took a chance and re-contacted my job I just resigned from, and I got my job back. eTransPlus is a great place. I highly recommend applying there.
QA vs. transcription
I have done QA for about 4 years and left the company, and I would like to do transcription, but I only type about 55-60 words a minute. Should I try different companies to see if they will hire me. And will speed come? I have enough medical terminology, but it's the speed I'm concerned about.
QA vs. transcription
As you probably already know, quality is much more important than speed in transcription. Just keep plugging away with quality as your #1 goal, and the speed will come with practice. Also, I suggest trying one of those typing test websites to work on your speed. Good luck!
Transcription help
Is there anybody out there that would be willing to mentor an MT. I try to find MT friends but have no luck, as nobody wants to give me their name. I like these boards but sometimes I need longer explanations about things. I was just wondering if there was a group or something or individuals who do that.

Does this company have radiology and urology? If this is the one I am thinking of, I was going to start working for them, but then the girl training me admitted that she didn't like certain reports or dictators and would skip them - that was all I needed to hear - of course that is what would be left for me to do - the crap work - and I have done all of that kind of work for most of the past 15 years - and I am tired of it - ESLs, long reports for little pay, etc. If you have the names of someone with the company - I would be happy to confirm if this is one in the same.
