at least 2 years ago when work was abundant.  I don't think it has a thing to do with the work shortage.  It's just one of the options they give people, FT, PT, or prn, when they hire on.  Or if people get too busy with other jobs/life and can't make their commitment, they have the option to go prn rather than quit.  But the program is not new.

I myself have been struggling with the shortage for months.  I have multiple accounts.  It doesn't matter what time of day or night I work.  My backup account appears to be overstaffed and is always being told to stagger their work times, so it's no good for backup for me the majority of the time.  My liaisons will all suggest we go to other accounts, and they are all low, so nowhere to go most days.  I try to keep the lines of communication open with management and have asked if I should move to one of the new accounts coming on board or if they think my others will pick up, but I haven't received a response, or am told they can't predict the work.  Nobody can predict the day to day work, but they should have an overall feel for how the account is going on average, I would think.  It is very frustrating because I don't know if I should be looking for another part-time job or not.  I don't WANT to, I'd much rather stay with MDI for all my work, but I have to pay the bills, so don't know what to do at this point.

weekends and holidays anymore etc etc I guess with all their legal woes we are paying for it and then have to have few blanks and 98% QA on dictators I have never even heard of. A joke to be sure and no matter how good the new pay plan is or they allow everyone a window to work then everyone will be working all hours to get lines for incentive which they probably never will. MQ is losing a lot of MTs and I expect that will continue. They seem to just keep pushing and pushing and it almost seems like they want people to leave so it really makes you wonder what is going on here. They really just dont care.

just sooooo slooow it wasn't bringing them up.  It would show no job available and then eventually one would pop up and very, very slowly load.  I couldn't decide if I had ran out of work or what.  There was also an issue with line count program not working yesterday too. Mine didn't add yesterday's work until last night sometime and seems like it was a very low amount of lines, but then with all the waiting for jobs I could have spent that much time being nonproductive.

Seems like issues of some sort or another keep popping up with program/line counter, etc.  Is this normal or unusual?

but I was just working part-time, and this was about a year ago, so things could have changed.  Isabelle and everyone seem so caring, it is hard to believe that they would consistently have MTs without work, but that seems to be a curse of the industry lately.

to work.  You are treated well, they listen to your concerns, pay is on time.  If for whatever reason, you don't like your account, just ask for another one.  If your good, they want to please you so you will stay with them.   It's in the top two on my list.  Spheris, oh no.   You have to get used to taking tests for these companies, that's just the way it is.  Test and wait, test and wait.    Good luck.

Extremely bad management, constant changes in management, constant do more, do more, do more, benefits always changing and not to the benefit of the MT but always to save them money.  If you want to be a number and constantly being looked at for what you DO NOT do rather than what you do accomplish, then TRS is the place for you.  If you want to make money and be happy, I think flipping burgers at McDonald's is a few steps up from TRS. 

I watched way too many good people get walked all over at that company and finally leave.  I lost my faith in the idea they could come back to a good company and after several years, decided to take myself to another company. 

I hope you find what you are looking for, but please run away fast from TRS as I would hate to see another MT treated the way they are treating their people. 

I have been there nearly 4 years now. The staff is very professional and accommodating.  My schedule is flexible though there is a 24-hour TAT, but you can work the hours you want for the most part, at least on my account.  Pay is always on time, the platform easy,and I rarely hear from QA. So all things considered, I would certainly encourage you to give them a try!

I have worked for MANY companies, and this is the best one I have come across, HANDS DOWN!!!!  You are actually treated like a PERSON.  The communication there is GREAT!  It might not be the biggest, but I believe it's the BEST!  : - )

have 4 different platforms that I know of.  I think how much you like an account depends on what you worked on before coming to KS, how bad the company was you came from, what your expectations are of the company/account, etc.  If you came from SPI, MQ, or OSi (where things seem to be horrendous based on posts) then KS is probably the best place in the world.

While it isn't the place I think I'll end my career, I would still recommend them.
