Lots of variables.
I do tend to agree with the poster that a lot of it has to do with the type of work. Like her, I had an account that paid 9 cpl but because of the nature of the work, I was lucky if I could break 125 lines/hour.
I recently chucked it for an account that pays 8 cpl, have my weekends back, sit down, do my much easier work, and walk away...no more sitting at the computer from morning to midnight hoping to get enough money to get a living line count. I'm getting line counts in five hours that it would take me 12 to get at the 9 cpl place.
I will also point out that a lot depends on what company it is. Some of the same people saying that there was no way in hello they would work for 7 cpl, yesterday said they would work for even less for a small mom-and-pop American company to help get it going.
So, in a nutshell, if it was one doctor, one account, plenty of work, free-form schedule, for a small company, yes, I would do it for 7 cpl.
MDI is very good as an employer, think they
have IC status but not sure and also may have SE status. They are flexible as long as the accounts stay in turn-around time. They are good to work for. I have been there since 3/2004, started part time, went full time in 05/2004 after I tried them out to see how I would like it.
Well, call a lawyer then. A good one. You could even get court costs paid by your employer probabl

stability
You had transcriptionists with stability. What did you do with them?
stability
My quality is excellent with no HIPAA violations. Look in that mirrow you were talking about earlier.
stability
Rules do change, so does pay, so does management, KS has already moved their office and didn't tell their transcribers....what kind of company is that?
stability
You know who I am. I'm the one who hooked up the Foley at the beginning of my shift. I'm the one who worked extra each and every time I was asked. I'm the one who went into the office to transcribe when it was needed. I'm the one who went on site to help with a new account (and this account actually wanted me to work for them!). I'm the one who transcribed tapes when asked. I'm the one who did the 3-page reports and the docs that no one else wanted when you cut our pay. And I'm the one who worked an 8-hour shift when my air conditioning broke down last summer during one of the hottest days of the year. No one just handed me that huge paycheck, I worked for it.
And now I'm the one who works on two accounts that consider my transcription excellent. As a matter of fact, one account doesn't want anyone BUT me. During my career I was told by one manager and one MTSO that they wished they had 10 of me. I also came highly recommended to you. That speaks volumes about my reliability, stability, flexibility, and quality.
You offer some flexibility. Zero tolerance would be more like it. I had to take three days off for jury duty, my electricity went out twice, and workers cut my cable line, all of which were out of my control. I took five days off in a row once in two years for a very good reason and it was not a vacation. If I had to take time off during my shift, I made up my time that same day. Unfortunately my dentist doesn't have hours on Sunday. I also worked when I was sick. Is that what you mean by not a good fit? I was an IC not an employee.
The kicker for me was when I found out that your coordinator went to the client to find out if I was skipping reports. I have never skipped a report in my entire career. I don't have to. I love what I do and I love a challenge. She also told another employee that no one can do that many specials. I could and I did until she made certain that I didn't.
This field is stressful enough. I certainly don't want to work for someone who places more stress on me, especially when I'm already giving 110%.
When it was all over, I felt like the weight of the world had been lifted off my shoulders. It was then that I decided I would rather be appreciated than used and abused.
stability is there
the case is that the US SWAT was hourly and doing so much overtime it was costing the company a ton of money to keep them on
QC and MT are very stable , in fact I have worked there for years and never had a problem. They have gotten their act together since being bought by Nuance and have a whole new HR team. In fact they are very supportive and the communication is better than ever. It is a US based company and just because they had a cut back, people are freaking out. It makes business sense tome to cut the biggest cost out to put more money into Qc and MT roles. SWAT was a good idea, but not a source for regular QC.
Lots of changes there right now, not good. nm
.
Lots of info on them, none good. nm
Lots of info on them, none of it good.
Very hard to make lines, can't make $$, pay scale isn't easy to figure out, mgmt problems.
Lots in archives on TRS, nothing good. Don't know
anything about All-type, but I have seen them mentioned so info is in archives too.
Thanks - you have a good day too, and hope we have lots
of work to make our line counts!
Lots of good things below about
I just applied and hope to hear from them, the archives and the posts below from some of their MTs looks good.
Email said not about company stability, and you
Of course they sent encouraging apologetic email. Do you think they would send one saying, We are having dire company problems and you may never get this money? They can put ANYTHING in an email. That doesnt mean it is true.
Lots of stuff in the achives, nothing good.
You can open your post and click on the see related posts link to bring up info. You can open those posts and see all the responses related to that one too.
Not lots of ESLs and they are mostly pretty good. It is
the American dictators that are horrible, but there are other issues with the account.
LOTS of good info can be found in the.....nm
nm
Lots of promises, no follow through. Lots and lots of internal sm
problems. She is recruiting heavy right now as she has a CHANCE at getting a big account back. Even if they get it back, they'll blow it again from poor management.
Do a search. Lots of recent stuff--good and bad. nm

TransHealth...I've read lots of good and bad SM
about them, but am going to start with a very open mind. I am looking forward to it.
Chickadee
Yep. Like other poster said, lots in the archives. 99+% good feedback
on this company. Check the archives.
Posts from the last 2 yrs said not a good place to work. Lots of MTs
s
YOG before MQ -- lots of work and good income back then. nm

Search the board...Lots of info, not too good..nm
xx
lots of good technical things, but they outsource overseas
and a lot of their managers are from the old Edix, which is not a good thing, if you want to be treated with respect.
if you do not mind how you are treated, you can do okay. hard getting lines consistently.
my opinion. maybe things have changed, but I have read a lot of negative on here lately.
Well, you clearly need to readjust your settings, beause there's lots of good posted.
x
Lots of recent info here, and definitely not all good. Search the boards. nm

STAY AWAY from this company! Do a search here. Lots of information, none of it good.
Good company, lots of clinic work, pay on time.
nm
Read the archives. Lots of stuff recently. Not good.
Sounds good. Thanks:)

Sounds good
What software do you transcribe in? How do you send work back and forth?
Sounds good.
for taking the time to help me.
Thanks.
Sounds good to me
If they can't keep up with the updated info I sent in May, how will they keep up with the latest info? Is somebody shredding all the files? I think I'll apply at the hospital 5 miles from home for almost any position they have!
sounds good to me...
I saw their ad also. TNX for the heads up!
Thanks, sounds good. NM
NM
Sounds good
That is how I am going to be paid. Thanks for the info. Peace :)
1100 lpd for FT, good sound quality, ExText software, LOTs of ESLs..nm
s
No, but I saw the ad - 12 cpl for weekends. Sounds good.
x
That sounds good, but I have one question.
If you have the software on your computer from one company (working as an employee) and become an IC or employee for another company, will there be a conflict technically with two different types of software??? I've been thinking of doing this also to cover those gaps!
Sounds good, but are there any downsides I need to know? nm
nm
What sounds too good to be true - REALLY IS!!!
Gads! Three phone lines? What in the world could you possibly do with THREE phone lines?
What freaks me out about that posting is
$12.50 AN HOUR SALARY
STRONG ESL
At the end of the day, babe you will have earned every penny of that money. My head hurts just thinking of working that dictation puzzle.
Those dictators are the worst of the worst and they can't find anyone who wants to do it. ECK!
Sounds good to me, too! Where do I apply?!?
I'm an optimistic person - no company could be worse than the one I've been with forever. Sounds like a nice starting salary with hope for the future.
If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. (sm)
Nothing is as it appears to be there. I would look elsewhere.
Sure sounds too good to be true.
If anyone has any info I would sure be interested. TIA.
Well, it sounds good pay wise, but (sm)
if you are not used to working the night shift, you may have difficulty. It always sounds good, like, I'll go to bed when I get home, but in reality, do you go to bed now when you're done working? Probably not. It may take you several hours to unwind, if you are like me, and by that time, you would have to be up with your daughter. I have seen several people over the course of my MT career try to do nights when they are not night people and it always ended up badly. Not to say it won't work for you, but just keep this in mind.
Wal-Mart Sounds Good
Wal-Mart is starting to look better and better to me. I have been an excellent Transcriptionist for over 25 years and had planned to retire as same. The past couple of years has caused me to re-think the rest of my life. I have gone from an average of $23.00 per hour to $16.00 per hour and it makes me nauseous. The suits are getting the money that I am having to work even harder to get (for them).
So, I'm thinking about going to Wal-Mart. My mother will retire from them soon and she, believe it or not, has had a lot less stress than I have had in the past few years. I think she makes about $14.00 per hour at this point. I'm sure that starting out, you probably do not make that much, but I think that if I have to work for less money, I would rather it be for someone who didn't TAKE MY MONEY. Anybody agree????
Hey Thanks a lot for your helpfulness! Sounds good to me! NM
NM
Sounds like a good offer.
If it is high hourly with good benefits, but don't know the company. Don't know of anywhere else offering such a good thing. Might be worth a try. Good luck!
Sounds like good ol' Axolotl
Very rude and no compassion for anybody. I used to work there. Miserable supervisor, just miserable. Felt like I was in Russia.
