Some of the ESLs are just not decipherable. It is not always posible to make out what they are saying. It is not safe for the patients for MTs to have to guess what is being said. I personally do not guess what the dictators are saying. I leave a blank. These physicians who cannot speak english are a pain and are jeopardizing the safety of their patients. I think that all states should incorporate some sort of a requirement that tests their ability to speak clearly. This is important because they have to speak to their patients as well as the other medical staff. They also need to be able to dictate clearly.
