They are hiring for new accounts that are coming on in March. I called and asked. As far as
no work, it will catch back up. There are ebbs and flows with every company and I, for one, am not worried about it.
they didn't tell you? never asked?
-
she didn't ask that. She asked if it sm
was legal. Yes it's legal. If the company wants to do it this way you have to do it or not work for them. Bottom line you are an IC you can do what they require or not and go someplace else.
Thanks. I've only been there 3 months and was wondering. Asked for a high-volume backup. No reply

You didn't but a reply did. (NM)

I didn't ask for your wages. I asked for help and if I'd have to work
and I didn't really think it would be like pulling teeth because MOST people at Transcend are willing to help when you ask WITHOUT the attitude. But if you post on the forum like you do here, it's obvious who you are.
I asked this the other day on another post - didn't get an answer
xx
I asked today and was told they didn't know when
they would be getting new accounts for DQS. I wish everyone would get on the same page.
Well you probably didn't reply to the company
but to the scam artists.
BEST ADVICE is not to respond - you don't owe them one if you didn't apply and their contacting you in the manner they did is all you need to know something is fishy
Thanks for the reply -- Didn't really think of things in
Thanks.
I didn't try again, but once you got a few screens in, it asked for a $25 fee to your charge card
s
I didn't say anything about expecting ... I just asked a simple question. sm
I have worked long enough at the company to know their practices so was just surprised, that is all. It is nice of you to chime in with your veiled criticism, though. It is no big deal. I just found out last night that I need new tires for my car, and waiting 1 more day to have that done won't kill me.
There ARE troublemakers on this board, but I was not stirring up trouble. I just know that things have slipped through the cracks sometime and was just checking. The faster I get it solved, the faster I get paid.
No matter what, I hope you have a good day and everyone treats you better than you treat them.
I didn't ask about Medscribe, I asked about Mediscript in FLA. No direct deposit w/this co.
Precyse (reply to Bernie) in case you didn't see it
in the original which is kind of buried now.
I use Open Office. I have to paste the report in which gives me a char count which I then put in a spread sheet (in another PC) and I have it divide by 65. It then gives me a line count and they do match. Because I know these programs can vary a bit, I don't expect a perfect match, but it's close enough for me. And they do include headings and spaces.
I can't stand working for anybody if I can't run the counts myself.
However, there was just an email that came out recently about NOT installing ANYTHING on THEIR PC. I had asked when I was being recruited about installing a couple programs to help me do this job, (including a speed typing program, ShortHand), and they said OK then. I've had them on their PC from the get-go. Believe me, if they do start cheating me, I'm outta here in a flash.
They've been pretty good to me though. My first manager I think was just overwhelmed, so she pretty much ignored me. But now I have another manager and she's great. I just changed my hours which she let me do immediately (shock!). I work Sundays too, and I don't usually run out of work. I have about 5 accounts that I work on though, and if you run out, they'll give you something. If you're willing to do that, you'll have no problems.
Interestingly, I had previously worked on a govt account with another company, used the same program to get the line counts, and it cheated me constantly. The money was still good, so I stayed for a few years until they decided they were paying us too much I guess. (Actually, how could they be when their software cheats you!). Anyway, the longer the reports were, the more their line counter cheated you which was a real kick, 'cause the longer reports tended to be more difficult (or maybe just got pretty boring after so long). Precyse doesn't do that. They're accurate no matter what the size is.
Well she hired me for JLG last March so she
was there at least a year and from what I hear, the company she went to is a very good company. I don't think I would spend my time worrying about it if I were you. Maybe worry about yourself?
I have only heard sometime in March but don't know for sure when (nm)
xxxx
I took it last March and passed
There were no reports per se--they were snippets, and easy to understand ones at that. It was not a detriment using the mouse to control the audio in this case. The written portion was harder than I expected, but the transcription portion was much easier than I thought it would be.
Waiting for the results to pop up was a loooong few seconds. Good luck!
March 17, then every other Monday after that
.
No not now. Through beginning of March I did though.
It was awful, awful, awful.
I actually have a very large primary, so I am quite surprised we were out and you weren't. Usually everyone else is in the pool for 2 or 3 days before I hit it. When it hits us, we know they're very low on work.
since March of this year
nm
We were told somewhere in March
this is suppose to take place. Now back in 2003 they outsourced us to Spheris and our doctors raised heck and it lasted almost three months and we were pulled back for the hospital. So my fingers are crossed this happens again. If not, I am not sure what I am going to do.
I left in March of 2008 sm
They had switched from MTWorld, which I loved, to Emdat Inscribe, which I loathe.
My biggest complaint has to do with the team managers. Most of them are NOT MTs and are clueless. The more MT clueless they are, the more they micromanage. The MT manager...well if you had asked me when I had been there a year, I'd tell you she was a peach to work with, but I had not been able to say that for the last 18 months I had worked there. They grew a little too fast and lost that personal touch they used to have. Also, they are management top heavy. There are too many of them, too many QA people, too many IT people who aren't that great, and too many heads of this and heads of that. No way an MT company needs that many managers.
To top all that off, they have gone from the 8.5 later 9 cpl I was paid to 7.5 and 8 to start, from what I understand. No pay for headers and footers, even if you have to fill them in yourself. They like to issue MTs a fine for not following instructions and do so without giving a warning or two, just an instant fine.
Been at my job since March and work is steady
I work for a small U.S. company who does not offshore (and shall remain nameless, by me anyway). You have a primary account and a backup account. They do not over-hire so the work is mostly steady. I am told that it only runs low around the holidays. I'm pretty happy with that. At least you know the lull is coming and can prepare for it financially. My days at sitting at the computer waiting for work are over, for now anyway.
When they called me and I asked them if they offshored, they asked me why that was my business!
xx
whups - sorry, reply to wrong "who wants to be" reply
if I only had a brain...
Again, sorry to BTDT.
Sad but true. You're asked to work NOW, then asked to stop NOW, then go again and then stop
If you dont get off the minute the hospital asks, even if you have no idea that they have requested that your to be off, then the hospital MTs steal your work right out of your queue and I mean reports you have already done. I dont understand the concept of having a contract with a hospital and then having to fight for work with the hospital MTs. We should have guaranteed work during our shift and enough of the the hospital wants you to help right now and then a few hours later they want us to stop working as the work is too low. It is crazy and I couldnt work like that so I had to quit.
um, only 1 harsh reply; the other 3 were in reply to the 1
nm
I didn't say I didn't care, I just don't understand
why the sudden outrage over HL offshoring.
She didn't say they didn't offshore at all s/m
What she did say is that if the work needs to be done here, it stays here (paraphrased a bit, I think).
That is not lying and saying that they don't offshore work, as was stated by another poster above, but saying that if the client wants the work to stay in the US, they will keep it here. Sheesh.
ok-you asked for it.........sm
Good points: Pay always on time and always correct.
Bad points: Work flow is not consistent (some days plenty of work, some days no work at all on the system).
Their QA for eScription Accounts are very inconsistent and do not follow account specifics. Change correct things and terms to incorrect terms (very very frustrating).
Indian based and Indian run company.
They subcontract out most of their eScription work to other MTSO companies.
Don't know about the other side of it using their NetCare system. I work on their eScription side of things, which is all run by the India based company.
Since they are eating up all of the eScription accounts, I thought I'd try them - needless to say it is not very profitable.
Don't count on making good money there. Many days without work.
To each their own. It may be a good fit for some.
I asked for more
and that's what I was told the line rate I could get.
And to top it all, I have a friend who has TWO YEARS experience and was offered 8 c/line for a PT position. PART TIME!!! And I'm getting 8.5/line for FT with all that experience in acute care? Something stinks here.
Wouldn't you be upset????
Sorry...I asked this before
but can't find the post! Does anyone know a good website that lists most MT companies (besides MT Daily). Thank you.
Know what FTP is. That's why I asked who uses it. nm
nm
I asked that down below...
and no one seemed to know about the platform except to watch your line count? Not sure what that means.
since you asked, yes, 1 do nm
nm
Not what I asked about but thanks anyway. SM
The drug testing doesn't bother me. I would just like to know the answers to my questions before I apply.
Same here. Have never been asked if CMT or not. I'm not. nm
s
yes they do...have you asked for one?
nm
Yes I asked -
x
I asked that below...
but didn't get any reply. Not sure that's a bad thing or a good thing!
Well, have you ever asked?
to be able to fluctuate your working hours? Guess that would make a difference.
Have you ever asked
Unfair, yes and no. I do know they have called others who were not working when they were scheduled to be. It probably depends on what account you are on, and so may not actually change anything except that you will have to clock in and out each time you quit and start during the day.
I tried to tell you below when you asked, but
you don't seem to want to heed the advice given, not only by me but the numerous others who posted. In this day and age no company can guarantee you work.
Not what I asked.
Then, how many MTs does TT have? Big company? Little company? I would like a number cause I'm curious.
I know that this has been asked before BUT (sm)
Can anyone give me information on TTD, Inc? It is also known as TTD and The Transcription Doctors. I have searched the archives with all 3 names and cannot find anything. However, when I googled them I found 2 older posts on MTstars for them but was hoping for more current information. TIA
Since you asked...I believe it's
We've gone from typewriters and using White-out to desktops and using Word shortcuts. That changed the way we transcribe. Because of the internet and home computers, a lot more of us are able to work from home.
Now, the same is happening with EMRs. How it all plays out is anybody's guess. My guess is there will be *growing pains* but, in the end, transcriptionists will never be without some sort of job. Someone mentioned data mining below, and there's also data tagging, which will probably become an *official* title here pretty soon.
There's also the opinion in
http://www.medical-transcription-and-you.com/healthcare-emr.html (you'll have to copy and paste) that there are still hundreds of millions of records being dictated the old-fashioned way, which will need transcriptionists to type them.
I believe that someone asked about this same
company a few days ago and someone else posted on the company but it would be wayyyyyyyyyyy on down the page by now or a couple of pages over. People are answering posts on various companies, it is just with so many posts by MDIers and Transcenders they are getting shifted down very fast.
Hope you are able to find the post!!
Have you asked them about it yet?
That may just mean that if you drop your signal or something you're on your own. I would think that it would severely limit their employee pool if they only hired people who had one and only one person hard-wired into the modem at any given time.
Have you asked them about it yet?
After reading the 2nd agreement that says I can't have a wireless router, but I can have a regular router with Ethernet cord, I called help desk on the chance that someone would answer at 3 AM. A guy did and said that lots of people have routers, but you can't use the wireless kind and to call back when the office is open.
Yes, they asked for volunteers to help out.

I'm not kicking anything. Someone asked
shared my experience. I really don't think a $110 loss on my taxes is going to make or break me. I'm just giving people the heads-up on this company and how nasty they can be.
