It tooks what looks like over 2 weeks to get there. It could have been shipped to a third world country is that much time. Shame on USPS. I guess you get what you pay for..even at 41 cents.Yikes. Sorry to my employer.

NOTHING.. I had been working both jobs, but that made me decide to tell the doctor to take a hike and devote all my time to MDI.. where I'm appreciated...

I don't feel that the MDI/Transcend plays favorites at Christmas. I appreciated the thoughtfulness of the signed Christmas card and gift card. Also, I work the holidays when someone on my team wants the day off. This is a good company to work for. I agree with the above posts--if you're not happy, there are other companies who may suit you better. Happy Holidays to all!

I agree with you. This What's in it for me attitude is disheartening. How many of us think of giving to or doing something FOR our employer? I am just grateful to have a job in this economy. That is my Christmas present.

And MTSOs don't have greedy CEOs?? Who pushes outsourcing, VR, MT pay cuts, etc? Not the hospitals! The AAMT, et.al. have been around a long time before the MT industry went sour. And who is the greedy middleman who saw a fast buck to be made with MTs? Not the hospitals. (Guess who the middleman who's making that buck is.) Does it makes sense that hospitals would pay their other employees the going wage for their respective positions and have a hand in undercutting only the MTs. They (hospitals) have no direct say in our salaries. Sure, they will try to obtain the most cost-effective contracts, whether MT, cleaning personnel, cafeteria workers, etc. Who wouldn't? Do you hear their employees blaming the hospitals when they're not paid prime wage? They're making top $$$. Let's put blame where blame is due!
You state that if hospital CEOs weren't so greedy, the poor MTSOs could pay their MTs more. DO YOU HONESTLY THINK THAT, IF THAT WERE THE CASE, THE MTSOs WOULD PASS ON THE EXTRA BUCKS TO THEIR MTs??? Really? Don't you think they'd put it in their own greedy little pockets?? ( If you're not a MTSO yourself) ... think about what makes more sense!

I think some may be greedy, but many others are probably trying very hard to juggle variable workloads with variable staff.
I know. I am an MT now, but was an MTSO - it's not nearly as easy as people might think.
We have to remember not to paint them all with the same brush...
transcend used to be good but they got too greedy -
too many Indians, too much crappy voice recognition that is not even close, a horrible platform that has multiple problems, line counts that are always a hours to a day late (reminds me of another company where no matter what I did I could never get over 1000 lines over the required minimum counts), and the nastiest ROMs in the business. You can have your transcend.
Fortunately, not all companies are so greedy that they
use VR to cut the line rate for MTs. Hopefully these experienced MTs who make more money doing straight transcription rather than the pay cut that comes with VR will find a better company to work for. For those like you who apparently never made that much doing straight transcription & enjoy VR, then more power to you, but why freak out on those who don't want the pay cut? Let them find a company who isn't trying to screw over the MTs by cutting their line rate for the same amount of work.

Now that the greedy corporations who offshore
our work have driven down our wages, not to mention risking patient safety, it really makes me rethink/regret my career choice. This used to be a great job.

The one company I worked for literally bid 7 and 11 cpl for a VR account and were only paying the MTs 4 and 8. That is the real problem. These docs/hospitals want rock bottom rates and there are so many MTSOs out there competing for these accounts that they are bidding us all into the poor house. JM2

ALL the accounts! At all costs! They think by 'dominating' the industry by taking as many accounts as they can get, that it makes them a better company. But how do they make a profit with those lowball bids? Off the backs of the MT.

I got a card last week. Don't know if that is all we are getting or not. WIll know when I get my paycheck.

Only if you are an IC.. If you are NOT an employee, they do NOT need it. They send you a 1099.
That's what the SS card is for!! And your sm
driver's license will verify your signatures and name.

I know that a few years ago, they stopped sending gifts because no matter what they did, someone would complain. I like the cards and get paid well. I would rather make good money year round than lousy money plus a $25 gift!
No X-mas card -- nothing...sm
You know last year was my first year with this company. I was surprised when I got a $50 bonus for X-mas last year. This year I wasn't really expecting a bonus because of the economy and all. I did, however, think they would have at least sent a X-mas card. No card. No nothing. No email stating happy holidays. Absolutely nothing. I thought it was a little inconsiderate of them. I wasn't expecting money. I just thought they would send some type of holiday wish.

I wasn't one of the ones complaining, but I did get a nice card from my employer. I don't expect anything from my bosses. When I do get something I am appreciative. The only thing I actually demand and expect from them is the appropriate paycheck on payday.

I received a beautiful card also from the owner of the company that I work PT for. I also work PT for a local store, only working one day a week, and received $100 bonus- which I was totally not expecting and was very grateful for! It is nice to receive a card just to let you know how much you are appreciated! Thanks AF!!!

A company comes underfire in a public forum by what may well be just 1 employee who didn't make it. There could be many reasons why.
Now, the company cannot name employees but the employee can name employers?
So, why wouldn't you expect an owner to come out swinging? This original post to the thread has nothing wrong in it. I saw the posts that were removed and they should have been.
But you know what? They were not any worse, different, or shocking than the trash that is posted here daily.
While some know how to post appropriately - complain in an appropriate manner still showing some integrity - most do not.
I don't blame her for at least addressing the issue. If MT's don't like employers coming on here defending themselves, perhaps they should consider the ridiculous trash they themselves are handing out.

to receive more than 7 cpl if you only graduated from an MT school 1 year ago. You are still considered a newbie. Actually, some would say you are lucky to have found a job at all, especially a job that pays 7 CPL. My advice: Stick with your current job for 2 or 3 years; try to work on as many different accounts possible, learn as many different report types possible; then, after 2 or 3 years, search for a company who will pay you a higher rate. I know it is hard to make it on what you are being paid, but we have all been there; it comes with the territory.

I just could not hack it anymore. Low work, no work, big push for ASR...I left.
I am starting with another company next Wednesday. I will have the schedule I have dreamed of having. They don't know it yet, but they will have to find me at least one more account to work on because I tend to slurp up a lot jobs. I know they will keep me happy.
I took an interim IC position that is actually pretty good. I kept my very long term PT job all the way through my time with TT and am working it more while I have a bit of a hiatus between jobs.
TT people are very nice, but nice didn't pay the bills. I was suffering physically and emotionally trying to work more hours to make the same amount of money. I have taken a raise over my previous pay, will have benefits and a nice incentive program with my new company. I feel your pain, I have been there!

Good grief, there is a week for everything under the planet it seems. Is everyone required to send a gift out for every week that somebody makes up?
I don't know who even started MT week to begin wtih, probably AAMT. Whoever did had to have somekind of a money gimmick. You kind of like Hallmark has a holiday for everything so they can sell cards? AAMT probably did this so they could sell their junk for MT week. Folks need to grow up.

that since I posted in one of my posts that any member of management who read the post would know exactly who I was, it proved to be true. Too bad they don't have anything to do other than puruse these boards. Otherwise, I expect it wouldn't be hard to find out identifying information for anyone. The more I think about it the more furious I become.
