Employees are different; they have to stick to a strict schedule, and I guess it's too bad when your employer makes you check in at another time; that's a bump in the road, I care not to run over for sure.

I also have been an employee and have been an IC now for the past 3 years full-time, and yes I work for one online MTSO that does know the true meaning of IC - which means I transcribe from a pool and I can take any time off I want and I do not have to meet a line quota or a schedule. All they ask is that I have the file returned, transcribed, in 24 hours. Even then, there are caveats to every rule in this business.

When some of these MTSO's spout off about TAT being reached and needing to know if you'll be working and when, they need to HIRE EMPLOYEES AND NOT ICs AND KNOW THE IRS LAWS.

In my opinion the ones are working a strict schedule as an IC is the demise of this industry as that makes MTSOs think their excuse of TAT is okay to abuse IC MTs...

Okay, I'm done, and again, JMO.... Snow Bunny - YOU ROCK!!!!!!

This is probably in NY or North New Jersey - from the posts above. Nice area to live in, but a bit too far for me to travel. I am about 2 hours away each way in PA.
