Should you keep working as an IC when you haven't received payment from last month?

I am working as an IC and still have not received payment from last month. I also had to pay $75 deposit for their software. My MTSO recieved my invoice from last month and nothing. They just keep sending me work and I am still being nice. My sister said no money, no work and do not do the work until I get my check. Is she right? My MTSO has recieved my invoice and let me know they have it. Any suggestions?

Yes I have been paid. Payment has definitely not been a problem. I received payment on the 19th. nm

Yes, I received my payment
Yes, I have received my payment as promised.
I haven't received it. Please try again.

I haven't received mine yet either but considering
the information posted on here, I'd say it is favorable. I think a few things people have been complaining about have been addressed and given:
1) Universal treatment. Sounds like the entire company is now under one plan of hours/production/base tiers/benefits/status. No one will be able to say they get a raw deal because of the office they are in. Everyone will get the same treatment in those areas.
2) A method of control for the workload -- in answer to those who complained about the SEs and others who jump on at the end of the payperiod to hog the work (not my words -- others, mind you): Now everyone has to adhere to a "firm schedule". OT only at supervisor's approval. Set number of hours. These things add up to more control over distribution of work and coverage for their accounts that they can count on.
3) The ability to move up in tier -- you can test and move up to another tier if you want to. Equates to you having an option on your base rate.
4) The ability to keep your incentive on a daily basis; and it sounds like it adds up to more than the incentive we are currently getting. Especially with so many plans floating around for incentive/production/bonuses, etc.
5) Time to make a decision. This is October 2nd. Sounds like you have a month to decide what you want to commit to and 3 months to get yourself prepared to start your new commitment in January. Time to analyze and think through what is best for your situation.
We knew that there was no way everyone was going to be happy about this plan because everyone's needs are different. Everyone has their own idea of what they want from their job. However, it sounds like a positive step in the right direction. Many of the bottom-line complaints have been resolved with this plan.
I'm satisfied with it. Making mock schedules right now so I can be ready to go FT at 39 hours!
My best wishes to all on making their decisions!
Ok, I still haven't received a response, BUT SM
I will go ahead and give the mailing address (instead of the e-mail) since that is public record. Like I said, they are very small and may not be hiring, but I would imagine they would be happy to hold on to your cover letter and resume until such time that they are hiring.

I haven’t received all of my payments either.
You got your W2 already? I work there but haven't received (sm)
mine yet. I was hoping to get it as an attachment to print out also and not have to wait for it to come in the mail.
Haven't received one yet, but it's not Christmas yet.
Why do you think you have to have it immediately? It takes time to receive it depending on the mails. . Even if I don't receive one this year by Christmas, I would understand. They've been very good to us workers and I know every company is tightening their belts. Maybe they aren't giving one this year and don't know how to break it to us.
It's not the gift certificate that keeps me working for TT, it's their attitude. You can't find a better company to work for and if you only work for them for the bennies, then you'd be better off working another company/ Just my 2 cents.
Glad you got even 1 of the W2's; I haven't received either. n/m

Haven't seen anything mentioned, but have any long-term MDI-MD SE's received anything for X-Ma
Just curious, as there was no mention that I could find on the boards. As a SE and just recently being hired by MDI-MD, I didn't expect anything; however, I received a beautiful Thanksgiving, X-Mas and New Years e-mail card from my liaison. Can't begin to tell you how much that was appreciated. Just remembering we're out here doing the work for them, and she in turn taking her time to chose a card to send us, has shown me more appreciation than I received in my past 12 yrs working for another National !
Have worked for them 8 weeks, haven't received a check yet. -nm
A month or so ago I received an email from Axolotl
Offering me a position, but the recruiter was very up front and told me it was an extremely difficult, heavily ESL dictator account, so I passed.
I'm not sure if that's the account for which they still have an opening, or if they've got something else available now.
I've never heard of the other place, so I can't help there. You might check the archives just in case there's in there.
Haven't heard for a month since I applied

Maybe they are working and haven't sm
had time to answer your post. If your post had not infuriated me so much, I would not have answered this one because it is such a snippy post! You are not the only MT in the land you know!
I am working on it - haven't run out yet- honestly
nm
Tying payment to their payment is fine
if they tell you that up front. Once bitten, twice shy.
Can anyone working at MD-IT please tell me how much you pay for insurance per month?
x
No, I haven't been. I told my true experience of working for that company.
I don't have a negative attitude. You're the one who can't handle it when someone disagrees with you.
I've been working weekends for 7 years and haven't heard of this.
dd
Meant to say..1st day of next month after you start working ...

I make about $1,500 a month working about 20 hours per week.
Believe me, I'm not bragging or slamming anybody at all. No way. I'm frustrated with my own income because I'd like to make more. I'm willing to put in more hours to do it, too. Honestly, I'm not that fast. I have one very small local account and one small MTSO I subcontract for. None of it is verbatim, it's clean up the grammar as you go, which totally slows me down.
I won't work for a national any more because I couldn't make enough money there. I wasn't willing to tough it out for three months until I could make their line counts, especially when they had me on their worst accounts, pools of hundreds of dictators per hospital so I couldn't use my expander, and a new account every week.
I've said before that if I'm going to do MT, it's going to be on my terms. I won't chain myself to a desk or be "on call" all day long waiting for work to come in. Nationals don't pay you to sit there and wait for work. That's bull. Being on call IS working. Other businesses pay their "on call" people at least minimum wage. They skirt around the issue trying to use SE and IC terminology, but it's just a way of paying us less to be at their beck and call.
Don't give up on MT entirely. You'll find your fit. It just takes some searching.
been working a split shift for a month just to try to maybe get my lines in
Which is slowly draining the life from me. I can get their minimum NO problem at all if they provide steady work. However, it trickles in now and most of the time I have to wait between jobs for work. Also really tired of their dumb e-mails patting us on the back because everything is in TAT. Well, with not enough work and too many MTs, what do you expect?? I am heading for the way out pretty fast!
$2500 gross a month working for a national

I was told several new accts are coming on this month and also next month, so
I'm not worrying.
Pay period goes from 1st of the month to the 15th, then 16th to the end of the month. sm
So, I guess you could maybe get by with less than 1000 a day, although the incentive tier would make it worth your while to do a bit more. I am using ExText, and yes, I find it easy to use, but then I used it for a year with another company. I think their other platform is Mongoose, and I know nothing about that, so really cannot say.
Yes, they are hiring now. In fact, there is a $500 sign-on bonus. I think it is all just acute care. I'm sure they would love to have someone with your experience. Rhonda Durham is the recruiter. I am sure she could answer any of your questions. I am happy to help too, if I can, but I am relatively new. The account I am working on is mostly psych, it seems, and I am loving it.
Another nice thing, their benefits start after 60 days, not 90 like most.
Good luck to you.
payment
They still have not paid me although Sonja Sacoleman made a promise on contacting me for payment but up to now... still nothing!
Alliance Payment Anyone??
Anyone receive payment recently from Alliance? Waiting for over a month. Told they pay weekly when hired. TIA
eScription Payment
Yes, when you become accustomed to editing, you can generally edit at a rate of 400 to 700 lines per hour. It usually takes about a month or two to get used to the editing process. It is important that you learn the eScription shortcuts in the beginning, so that you don't get bad habits. In particular, ALT-K is very important to learn.
Ascend Payment
I am working for Ascend now for three uears. They have a policy of each 15 day pay period paid 15 days after the period is closed. If the disbursement date is on week end it will get delayed. I never had an issue and I average about $0.12 per line.
There are folks who do not complete their paperwork or do not submit their production data on time do get their pay delayed.
Ascend also gave me a loan last year and subtracted agreed upon installment from my earned wages.
I like working for them. Plenty of work, good pay.
Never payment issues
with TransTech...never.
Payment at DeVenture
I have been working for them for over a year and have never had a late payment.
Demand for payment
Send her a demand for payment letter with 10 days to pay you. Send it certified with return receipt. State that further action will be taken if payment is not received by you in 10 days, and add that interest will begin to accrue on the balance. In the meantime, see if you can find other MTs who are owed money by this same person. If it's only you, they know you won't take the trouble to travel to their state to file in small claims court. If you have several people, you can file a class action suit in federal court. That's what worked for me a few years ago with a company in California.
No payment from MTSO
I was hired my a MTSO without asking for my social security number or driver's license. I did not sign an IC agreement or HIPPA paperwork. She only verbally told me what I was and verbally did not want any contracts signed. I was told I was a subcontractor, but I refuse to work anymore for her. She is now telling me she cannot cut me a check without having my SS#. I am telling her cut my check and then we can make arrangements for her to pick up her computer. Who is right? I have no gurantee that she is going to pay me and why ask for my SS number now?
There were payment issues with them in the past. Don't know about now. nm

But weren't there payment issues??

WRONG! Their payment policy is (sm)
Pay periods run from 1-15th, and 16-30 or 31st of each month. Payment is twice monthly. PLEASE NOTE: For example; If you begin your employment with them today, July 20, you would work from July 20 to 31st (that's 12 days). You THEN add the 30 days, meaning you will be paid after having worked 41 days. If you're going to make a post regarding a subject matter as paramount such as this, make ***** sure it is accurate. I am reporting your post under the guidelines of being defamatory.

There have been payment problems with them. Hayseed
used to work for them but quit. Don't know if she has posted any of that here or just on another board.
I would send a demand for payment
that you have that as proof. Give them x amount of days to pay up or you will take further legal action. Also make note in the letter of the disconnected telephone number. Then you'd need to file a complaint for the money due.
Payment of taxes question
You don't have to wait and pay your estimated taxes quarterly? I thought it had to be done that way. Please let me know. Thanks.
TransHealth starts 1st day of month after month SM
you start, BC/BS, good rate on single, don't know about family premium.
Last month was slow on my account..but this month (sm)
we've been swamped...
The new insurance is very reasonable. I pay $200/month and they pay $200/month. sm
Unfortunately, I have had to use it a lot since it changed and I am very happy. They have covered everything.
The insurance is actually $80 cheaper per month than I paid at the local hospital, which is a large employer.
Landmark had some payment issues last year. nm

Isnt this the company with intermittent payment

Rather than worrying about notice here, if my house payment
were in jeopardy, I'd hightail it to another position ASAP. Then, I would not put this company on my resume, and if you were there for a short time, just say you took time off for a brief period to research jobs. To me, my bread and butter need not be played with. And the creditors think that even more. Good luck to you, but whatever you do, remember it is not you, it is there are more cheesy MTSOs in this business than not.
Comments from last year said they were very unorganized and had payment issues. nm

There was a post about payment issues back in February. nm
