I was thinking that maybe they would up the pay after a period of time and then it could be a decent place to work as far as editing compensation goes. Like I said before, I think MQ has the right idea. They are paying 80%, which would equal 6 cpl if Transcend went with 80% instead of the current 55%, which equals around 4 cpl. I wouldn't be on here fussing if that were the case. Hopefully, management will come to understand that the cut was just too much for a lot of us, especially the higher producers. And you are right, there are a lot of people making the same amount or more editing than they did typing, but these are the people who were slower to begin with. THAT IS A PROVEN FACT!! I believe they will love the new editing and compensation. I do, however, feel that it is not a fit for the higher producers, plain and simple. So what more do I want, I want to paid a fair wage for my experience and the work that I produce. That is what I want, and I don't think that is too much to ask. I am not trying to break the company, just make a decent living. I want the company to profit along with the employees. That is what I would want if it were a perfect world.

I knew that I could get a job doing this anywhere in the country and make an okay living doing it. It would also enable me to work around my life, not live around my work.

No. That's a company who won't spend the time it
takes for you to get these talkers down. The test then pretty much says nothing about your actual transcription skills.

I pay not one bit of attention to my queue. I had not noted this AT ALL, but thanks for the heads up. Why is TT so shooting themselves in the foot? I left a shady company to come to TT just for that reason, because they had a great reputation and did not pull stuff like this. I certainly hope they realize what they are doing and nip it in the bud NOW. If they can salvage their reputation at this point, they may be able to pull out being one of the 3 to 5 left standing with all the work when this shakes out. Otherwise, they will be laughed at like MQ.

Doubt she was demoted - leads are too hard to come by. She probably quit management so she could get lines herself, or quit completely because she got tired of having to constantly recruit for accounts that were understaffed.

Ya know, even if I spend time during my shift or after that shift
it is still MY time, expected by the company, and I am not getting paid for it regardless. I don't answer my phone while I am working, never did, never will. What other profession, while probably punching a clock, do folks work for free? If I worked in an office doing this, that time would be paid - say 15 minutes a day x 5 days a week at even $10/hour = $50 a month - and it is more time spent than that to deal with the email thing and the reminders and the changes in specifics and logging in and out of 3 different accounts when primary is out of work. GRRR.
I don't change jobs easily either, glad you are happy where you are - but producing 1400 lines of ACCURATE text will end my career soon (and probably yours also) and then what are we all to do? My goal is not to work more, work harder and longer hours to produce a salary I can live on.
I agree they should spend
some time trying to correct the problem, but the main problem was the line count situation on the Vianetta platform. When I started with them, it was lovely. Work was flowing, no major problems. Then they changed platforms. That's when the problems came. Mgmt there kept telling us they were working on the problems with the line count, but nothing ever changed. Every payday same thing - we are working on it.. yada yada yada. So the moment you question the higher-ups about the line count they want to get ugly with you. Like we weren't supposed to ask about our line count. And you know, in the end, if they would have been just a little bit more understanding and more willing to explain to us what was really going on, things might have been different.
and I agree with you. I spend
so much time making sure sometimes I've done it as right as can be done that I, don't have the volume others might produce, but I believe I have the quality. If I was the boss, I'd sure eliminate the lazy ones.

Other times it is your internet service provider. We have 4 computers on our network and no one is allowed to upload or download when I am working otherwise my speed goes to a crawl.
TT server
Yes, yes, a million times yes! My ISP checked my connections and DSL speed is great, all else fine. It's the TT servers; TT has sent multiple emails about server and connection problems. It has happened in 3 hospitals I've worked for and working from home, but happens many times more with ExText. I just save my reports often, recover them, or whatever it takes. It's annoying but nothing new.

I think it is mditrans.com but the server appears to be down. The full company name is Medical Dictation Services, Inc if that helps. This is the MDI in Maryland.

I truly think that if every doctor or dictator had to spend
was forced to listen to themselves for a period of time...say an hour or two, I would almost bet the farm that a lot of mumblemouths, yawners, eaters, and people who dictate in the bathroom while they are flushing would change their habits radically. Or sending their dictation EXACTLY the way they say it...um...uh...uh...ummmm........hmmmm.........dead air....You know the ones.

If docs would spend 5 seconds...sm
spelling another doctor's name, which they believe we're automatically supposed to know how to spell, it would save a lot of grief. But MTSOs are quiescent about this, even though they know it's a hardship on us...what the heck, it's not THEIR time. Don't want to spell a doc's name... their 5 seconds is worth more than 10 minutes of my time looking it up. Tough!! Blanks are in. Let THEM fill it in.

No problems with the server
I get steady work and my insurance (United Healthcare) is only $17/week for full coverage. Best rate I could find with any national. I have a flex schedule at Medware and work 32 hours a week. They are a great company to work for, very happy for the past year. Big change from my previous service. Plus my team leader is nice.
Especially all of the accounts on their own server...
Ichart to their private server, my line count dramatically decreased. I am sure they continue to charge the facilities for the Ichart line counts, but pay us for the line counts provided by their server, which are significantly less. That is when I knew I could no longer work for Outsourcing Scandals, Inc.
Transtech Server
What happened here? A short time ago there was nothing but glowing reports about this company, now almost daily server problems and no work???
Maybe it depends on the particular server - how many are using it?

If you go to the same store every day and spend a lot of money and your neighbor
and the storeowner gives your neighbor a $50 discount for being a new shopper, would you feel entitled to a discount because you gave the shopper so much of your business? Better yet, big insurance companies send a lot of business to doctors and hospitals and they get discounts on the medical bills that individual patients with no insurance can't get. Are the big insurance companies entitled to this because they give more business than the individual patients?

You obviously need professional help. My paycheck is always correct and on time and I am pleased with my pay. Even IF the owner is a big gambler and spends her money on slots (which I don't believe), WHO CARES?

they certainly encouraged everyone to use them, their training staff stating "use those normals, girls, get those lines. We want you to make that money." Right...get those lines for OSI. I found their accessing their server very slow.

Insurance is very expensive, especially when you don't work because the of their server problems.....the unpaid work becomes more onerous over time and if you complain, they invite you to quit. And, of yeah, the Indians take most of the normals, sometimes all of it.

Not on the internet; however, it is a web based browser and you must have a username and password to log into the server to have access to any files.
The server is not the internet. The internet IE browser is just a tool to use to access the server.
I hope this helps clarify things a little better.

Some companies have frequent down time. It is good to know if this happens and if so, will you be compensated for it or expected to make up time lost.

Thank you so much for answering my questions. I, too, currently work for MQ, have been with them approximately 10 years. Kind of scared to make the change, but am tired of working for peanuts and heard MDI paid quite well compared to most. I do love my main account, but don't care for the cesspool I have now and then.
Do you still work for MQ and how many hours? I ask because I figure I will work for MQ until I feel comfortable leaving and working for MDI. Do you have to submit a schedule of what hours each day you will be working? I understand you have to have a minimum of 700 lines or 3500 a week, but just wondering how specific you had to be with exact hours you would be on.
You said Bayscribe seemed outdated. Is it difficult to learn and do most of the accounts have an automatic ADT feed or is there a lot to fill in? And you said you get paid for filling this info. in, too? That would be great. There is on account that I have with MQ that I have a lot to fill in and it so frustrating not getting paid for this.
Well, I guess that's about it. I will just wait to hear from the recruiter. Sorry so long and thanks for answering me.
