Pay is so-so, level III 8 cpl, level IV 8.5 cpl, level V (high ESL) 9 cpl. Everyone seems very friendly and helpful.
Good luck!

They were to start a benefits plan this month. Did that happen? nm

TransHealth has some that start the next month after you start work. nm
xx
TransHealth kicks in the 1st day of the next month after employment. IOW sm
if you are hired and start on the last day of the month, you will have insurance the very next day. You can't beat that, plus it is excellent insurance and the cost if the lowest I have seen of any MT company
It's IC work-- no benefits, although they do pay self-employment tax portion.
Technically, we're hired as SE status (statutory employee status), which means that MDI pays our self-employment taxes to keep us from getting that double tax whammy.
Webmedx fits that bill, great company, great benefits, great pay and always on time. NM

I had a great experience during training and employment
Though I am a rather conscientious employee and follow the rules after being in this job for 20 years. I found them to be personal and the staff worked long, hard hours to meet their goals. My supe and QA person work 10-12 hour days. I think that if you go the extra mile, it is always appreciated.
I decided I could start next month....
Still tying up loose ends at current position, hired in Sept.
Meant to say..1st day of next month after you start working ...
x
I start Focus Infomatics next month
Can anyone who works there share with me the real good, bad and ugly? I keep hearing so many different and conflicting things. I have searched. As I understand, some MTs love it, while others don't. I know they have Indian interests. Feel free to email me privately if you want. Thank you in advance for any words of wisdom.
Are there any companies out there who provide benefits at start....sm
instead of having to wait 90 days? If so, how are they to work for?
DTSAmerica. Benefits start after 30 days too. BC/BS
I work split shift
you must have mistaken this for another company; benefits start in 30 days
This person obviously has no clue
I will start there on Sept. 8. They have a nice benefits package, sm
and the pay via the incentive tier seems fair and easily attainable, although since I have not started on the account, I cannot really say for sure -- if it is an atrocious account, then of course that changes everything. I have not read anything bad about the company, though, so to me that is a good sign. I will be using ExText, which I have used before, so that is another plus for me.
As for choosing between IC and employee, I guess that depends upon whether you need the benefits. If you do not need the bennies and are still interested in working for them, maybe you could negotiate a bit higher line rate ... I do not know, just guessing. They also have a bonus program if you keep to your schedule each quarter, so that is a nice plus.
Good luck with whatever you decide. Like you, I would like to find a home. I have an IC position that I love and will probably never totally give up, but I would like to have the benefits and some of the tax hassle erased.
Great pay, great benefits for 11+ years..sm
I've just started with this great company (eMTS). I have 11+ years of experience and I was started at .10 per line as a regular employee, not IC, with a huge sign-on bonus, full benefits, very nice people, and a good account. So far, this is the best experience I've had in my years as a transcriptionist. Unfortunately, I don't believe they're hiring more right now, but you could always check in with them, they're online at eMTS.com. The management seems to really care and they work with you.
Can a Diskriter MT tell me when health benefits begin (90 days, 1st full month)?
nm
What a great start!
It is a GREAT account! I 6 hours of work, I had already done 1600 lines! I was totally amazed and all of my doubt was gone. All of the dictators speak clear, fluent English that is VERY easy to understand. The platform my account is on is EXT text. I am still learning how to use some of the features of it, but I'm sure that will come with time. My lead is VERY helpful and is always available to answer any questions that I have. I hope to be with KS for many years to come!
First month of guaranteed pay was great and
AND THEN - got ESL after ESL after ESL after being told there were no ESL's on the account I would be working. Good luck, I can't live on 4-600 lines a day.
Oh great day, I quit a month ago
I only worked there a month. I have not received this letter yet, oh my gosh, this is definately an incompetent company!!! They were horrible to work for and now this, oh my goodness!!!
Oh, great. I'm about to start in 2 or 3 weeks.
The fun never ends. I think I will take a LOA from transcription for a while. I am going right now to get my poster board and picket sticks and post Strike on them to walk around my house and living room. Perhaps you will see this on the news. But really, since I left my job at the hospital, it has been one MTSO after another with the bait and switch biz. Ugggg. Maybe if I go on strike I can at least get food stamps. No kidding.
So far, I think it is great! I did not get to start when planned sm
due to delays from the account in getting IDs, etc., but now that I am doing it, I love the account. All of the people I have dealt with are very friendly and helpful. They are offering a sign-on bonus, so maybe you should give it a try again.
No more great benefits. Only if you are
xx
Doing great! Made more money in one week at TT than I did in a whole month
at previous job!
Yes, they have sick pay and PTO, great benefits...sm
I've worked for TH for a long time, have taken sick time, and have never been fired for it. Ridiculous.
Benefits don't sound that great to me.
They may be better than some, but certainly not great.
$15-18 is great, but what if ya' need health benefits?
Sometimes those premiums can be pricey in private practice. Not what the OP asked, but just adding by 2 cents.
Great benefits don't help if the work isn't there.
It's been a while and maybe they've gotten better. The recruiter at the time was less than above-board with me. Try to find current employees to talk to.
They are able to offer great benefits...
because they do more than just transcription. And, for clarification, my posts are referring to the supervisor to whom the MTs report directly. Ms. Nasty-for-no-reason-at-all.
If things are still the same, the owner is great, but you wait a month for your first check ... sm
and the pay is rather low ..... it was by character count ... amounted to about 7-1/2 cpl.... but the work was easy, clinic stuff. I have no idea what she pays for VR, though. She is a professional and good to work for.
Good luck!
4000 lines a month of dollars? Either of which is not that great! So, what are you bragging about?
x
Webmedx is great for me; good benefits, sm
PTO, reasonable insurance cost. Plenty of work, decent platform (although we had some trouble last week but that's rare). I realize one company can't be right for everyone, but Webmedx has been great for me. 8 years and counting.
I bet the benefits aren't so great anymore.
Everywhere business are taking a hit and passing it on to their employees. Good insurance now at a company is one where you aren't spending more than $300 a month and you have just co-pays or a very small deductible.
Wages are frozen, people being fired for budget costs, everyone's doing two or more jobs and getting paid for one.
It would probably be a big blow to go back for a lot of people. The work place isn't the way it used to be anymore. Sad.
They had great benefits and little work. I lasted three
nm
Great benefits, plenty of work, pay on time
Depending on experience, slightly above-average pay. I used to be with a company where I would have given my right arm for those few simple things. As for the posts below regarding line count, IF this (or any other concern) was affecting my work, there's a new invention called a telephone that comes in handy when wanting to address concerns (and their phone number is on their website).
Transhealth is very organized, great benefits..horrible platform
Maybe it was just me but i never made it through training. It certainly could have been a lot easier than having to open up 3-4 programs to get going. I found it to be time-consuming and in a production-based atmosphere, this did not cut it. On the other hand, maybe others think the program is wonderful, but I sure did not. I have used Dictaphone EXText and that is way easier.
TransHealth has great benefits, PTO, paid holidays for fulltimers. nm
Hourly pay, great benefits, schedule depends upon which accounts...sm
you are QAing. Solid company. Good luck!
Great office staff, okay pay, no benefits, horrible ESL all accounts...NM
NM
My hubs retired as a fire captain. Great benefits, thank God! nm

Gotta agree -- YOG was the best! Great pay, good benefits. I quit sm
the moment I heard she had sold to MQ .. ugh.
Great advice. Is people stop working for them, maybe they will start paying attention. I wonder if .
their clients know they do not pay their MTs to do the work. You can bet that Rapid Transcript is getting paid by the client. What a ripoff. Just the fact that they have an F rating by the BBB woudl be enough of a turn-off for me. Crappy business practices.
Great company -- good benefits, average pay, easy-to-achieve sm
incentive tier, ExText platform, pay by direct deposit every 2 weeks, always on time. The people in management seem to genuinely care about the employees, which is a nice plus. I have been there since October and am very happy. Of course, one man's paradise is another man's hell it seems at times, but it is a good fit for me.
Good luck!
Good company, great people, good benefits.
Affordable insurance. Good luck!
I was told several new accts are coming on this month and also next month, so
I'm not worrying.
Pay period goes from 1st of the month to the 15th, then 16th to the end of the month. sm
So, I guess you could maybe get by with less than 1000 a day, although the incentive tier would make it worth your while to do a bit more. I am using ExText, and yes, I find it easy to use, but then I used it for a year with another company. I think their other platform is Mongoose, and I know nothing about that, so really cannot say.
Yes, they are hiring now. In fact, there is a $500 sign-on bonus. I think it is all just acute care. I'm sure they would love to have someone with your experience. Rhonda Durham is the recruiter. I am sure she could answer any of your questions. I am happy to help too, if I can, but I am relatively new. The account I am working on is mostly psych, it seems, and I am loving it.
Another nice thing, their benefits start after 60 days, not 90 like most.
Good luck to you.
TransHealth starts 1st day of month after month SM
you start, BC/BS, good rate on single, don't know about family premium.
Last month was slow on my account..but this month (sm)
we've been swamped...
The new insurance is very reasonable. I pay $200/month and they pay $200/month. sm
Unfortunately, I have had to use it a lot since it changed and I am very happy. They have covered everything.
The insurance is actually $80 cheaper per month than I paid at the local hospital, which is a large employer.
Great company, great boss, great account!!!nm
x
I never see an ad for employment with them.
nm
Don't you have to pay self-employment tax? Isn't that the same as SS? nm
x
You may not be able to get employment if you are
fired either. The company has a say in what happened and can dispute any claim. I would think they you could not get employment based on you resign or else and I think they are being very generous in giving you that option. If you quit I don't think you stand a chance of getting unemployment.
I wouldn't worry about using Spheris for a reference, doesn't sound like they would give you a good reference even if you resign. If you haven't been there long just leave them off your resume and say you took some time off. I don't think the resume has as much to do with your hiring as it is how you do on testing.
