working your scheduled hours during the week OR you need a backup account. Either way, there is more than enough to go around.

My how things have changed. I am now drowning in work from

whose workforce is predominantly Indian? You're okay with the loss of American jobs, the falling recession we are in and the falling economy due in big part to the offshoring of American jobs? How okay will you be when you lose your job to an Indian and you have to apply for food stamps and unemployment?
Sell-out MTs like you are the reason good MTs cannot make a decent wage anymore, why good MTs cannot find a good job anymore, and why sweats shops in third world countries are thriving. How do you look at yourself in the mirror?
Focus Infomatics employs 800 American MTs and over 3000 Indian MTs. Tech support is in India. The company itself is still run by the same Indian man who started the company and sold out to Nuance. He made a bundle when he sold and he is still making a bundle running the company while he pays his own countrymen and woman peanuts! He's selling out his own people and you are selling out yours! On second thought, I guess you belong at Focus with your own kind!
I don't have a problem working 1 weekend day
I've always been required to work one weekend day at 2 at-home jobs, and rotating weekends in-house. It comes with the industry, IMO. Anybody that insists on 9-5 M-F only in this line of work is being unrealistic.

I'll say it one more time, NO OTHER PROFESSION BE IT MEDICAL, SECURITY, OR EVEN THE CLERK AT THE CORNER CONVENIENT STORE HAS TO WORK EVERY SINGLE SATURDAY OR SUNDAY OR BOTH! I refuse because my child comes first! I won't miss her games. I also feel obligated to have her in church. I'll take a 1/2 cent paycut for my child and God. As much as I need money, nothing will ever come before family or God...EVER!
There's no comparison in being a hospital employee with benefits working rotating weekend and IC
Initially what made being an IC worth sacrificing benefits was having a flexible schedule. I have read the laws and have done research. An independent contractor is not obligated to a set schedule and this definitely includes holidays and weekends. So what if this is a 24/7 business? How many hospital workers do you know that work every weekend with no benefits?? Nada! I knew student nurses who chose 24 hours every weekend so they could go to school thru the week, but they were compensated quite well at 40 hours with full benefits.
A company may hire a lot of misinformed ICs for Sun-Th and Tues - Sat schedules, but by law they are pushing the envelope. ICs need to remind these companies what the legal definition of an IC is. I'm sure they remember that we don't receive benefits. They want it both ways. If I'm going to be an IC with the only benefit being flexibility, there's no way I'm giving that up!
A national I worked for, which I won't name (squid)tried that on us after taking over our company. They even used scare tactics. We still didn't get on every weekend. There was nothing they could do and they knew it.
I'm part-time and don't have to work all weekend. I work Tues-Sat.
I've never heard that from Chronicle, of course I didn't see the ad.
I'll love to know who you work for. I also work every weekend with no extra pay.

What happens if you're working on a 9 cpl level
and you have a backup account on an 8 or 7 cpl account? Do you still get paid at 9 cpl? Or does the pay vary based on what account you happen to be typing that day?
Monday - 9cpl
Tuesday - 7cpl
Wednesday - 8.5 cpl,
etc, etc.

I guess I don't understand your complaint with the company posting that ad. They have a need they need to fill, and it might be the right fit for somebody.

Are there any companies who will allow you to work both weekend days as part of a regular schedule. I am looking for a reliable company, at leat 8.5 cpl, employee status and one where work flow is regular. I realize there are always slow downs in this industry but searching for a company where you are not consistently running out of work. I prefer to work both Sat and Sun to allow me 2 days off during the week. I know this is unusual. I have an IC job. Love the flexiblity but I need benefits.

I too hated the thought of working every single weekend, but I've been doing it for a year, and it has actually worked out okay. On the Sunday that I work, my husband gets to spend time with my kids, and I get an actual day to work interrupted. I don't have to work 8 hours on Sunday though, so I guess that helps. I just get up early and am done by noon. I am actually considering doing a Saturday too so that my husband can help that day also. It might not be as bad as you think. Good luck.

 What do you find so difficult about working a weekend? I had 3 kids and worked 7 days a week.. (and still work 7 days a week!), you just adjust your schedule to what your kids are doing....most companies no longer require a set 8-4 or 9-5 type environment....Now I'm a grandmother and manage to do my job during the day and watch my granddaughter after 3 p.m....it really isn't that difficult. Look at it this way - if our normal work week was Tues to Sat, you'd be wondering how anyone could work Mon - Fri. Good luck with your juggling.

Weekend work / 2nd line
It depends on which client they assign you to. Our hospital is currently dial-up to both Lanier and Meditech. However, Meditech will soon be IP connection but you will require a phone line for our Lanier as ours is not internet based/digital.
There is an abundance of work on the weekend on
several accounts and the positions being advertised are for weekend coverage.

You volunteer to work the weekend (sm)
after having 40 hours, and only get the extra lines you type. I have never been offered incentive, OT, etc. However, I've been with company who ran out of work all the time, so, having the extra lines over the weekend helps my bottom line a lot. No complaint here. (It would be nice to have incentives over 1200 lines per day required, maybe they'll do that sometime.) My experience has been wonderful with them!

Wahhh, I have to work a weekend.....
you're sitting home on your probably ever expanding behind with a job, able to be home with your kidlets, can wear whatever unattractive outfit you want, probably don't bother with your appearance, don't have to spend money on fuel, nice clothing, lunch, etc, and still find something to complain about. Grow up, this is a REAL job that is 24/7. Take some pride in the fact that you happen to be employed and are lucky enough to be at home. Unless you're attached at the hip to the DH and kids, it shouldn't be a problem. Some companies require 1 weekend a month, if you can't bear that, find another job.
Weekend work has been going on in hospitals many years but
weekend workers generally rotate if they work in house or they used to. This should be the way these companies do this rather than tie up every weekend. It would be easier to find someone if they rotated their weekends and were firm about the commitment. It is not that hard. It is about good management and if they can't manage to get that commitment, then companies need new management to implement that kind of thing. Finding weekend workers would be a lot easier.

I think you can't be. Prob 98% of companies want you to work a weekend day.
I have more time than you and i think you are sorely mistaken in taking that attitude and that you will not get anything nowadays with that specification.
