Salesmanship

Of course, the recruiter says all those things.  It is his/her job.  In the sales world, that technique is called PUFFING.  Though legal, it is mostly deceptive.  So, as in all sales transactions, caveat emptor, buyer beware.  On the other hand, I have often considered getting those preliminary promises in writing, especially stuff like no ESLs, flexibility, etc.  Not that I think the recruiter would agree to it.  Then, if things changed, it would definitely be a breach of contract.
