RadGuy ...

Can you email me please ?  Thanks.

Okay, RadGuy, but only for you :-)

reply to RadGuy
Oh I'm going alright :) Got a 1.5 cpl increase right off the bat, and dont have to buy any more equipment. I'm thankful to MQ to giving me a break fresh out of school 4 years ago, but tired of breaking my neck just to be bullwhipped into having to work harder for less money now.
RadGuy Spheris
Please don't tell me the fabulous company you went to is Spheris? You poor guy. It will be MQ all over again. You'll see. My condolences.
I'll second that RadGuy! :) (nm)

Watch out RadGuy....
if they lose all their clients over this, they'll be putting ALL of us on your account! We'll each get like 1 job every 8 hours, and then you'll get a call from the Impact Center asking why you're not working your schedule! :-) I know, not funny...but I have a warped sense of humor:-)
So, RadGuy, are you sticking it out at MQ? sm
I know that a while back, you were sticking it out, but how about now? I left and am glad I did, but curious how many are staying. Is it getting any better? Worse?
Business trip?
Why would management go to Vegas on a business trip if Dictaphone makes all the business deals?
But if we can slow it down or trip it up, then
NO way of knowing each MT's life circumstances, or why one may wait for work and another might bail. More things come into play here than 'just being responsible for yourself'. Some of these MTs are responsible for the rest of their family, and are the sole breadwinners. They know how expensive it is to just change jobs. Ever hear that old saying, 'A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush?' For some of us, waiting for what WAS a good-paying job to get better, afer it appears to have slipped a bit, was the wiser way to go. In the future, having read about this issue on MT Stars this past week, I would venture a guess that not many MTs are going to fall for this lie again.

I'm in a similar, though different boat. I, too am looking, but I've jumped from the frying pan into the fire enough times in my life that for now, anyway, I'm better off with my current job and a small paycheck, than I am signing on with another big company at this time. ESPECIALLY since so many ex-MDI'ers are now going to be looking, as well. I'm my sole support, and it would be dumb of me to make a move like that without thinking it through.

So you can't just sit there in your own, obviously-satisfactory situation, and tell everyone they should be just like you. Not everyone IS you. Not everyone has the luxury (nor the impulsiveness) to just bail at the first sign of a blip in the workload. It happens sometimes, in ALL corners of MT. When I read their posts about lack of work, because it happened just as summer was getting underway, I assumed it was the usual summer slowdown I see at my own job. SO you can't go saying these MTs are wrong to blame someone other than themselves. They, like most of the rest of us, are hard-working MTs who were lucky enough, for a while, to have a company they actually felt some loyalty to.

Your post was self-righteous and rude.
You guys are a trip--I never said management...

posts ALL of the positive posts.  What I said was that they do post at times.  My God--why does people have to be so confrontational.  I posted what I know and believe happens SOMETIMES, not every time.  Get it??  There is a difference.  Everyone needs to stop judging people for their experiences.  Like I said before, I enjoy my job at Transcend for the most part, but I do believe that management screens this board very carefully, which (like I said before) is a good thing.  At least they know where we are coming from.

IMO, trip to trade show sure not worth having to

Don't cash it at your bank; make the trip to THEIRS
THEIR account will be charged, not yours.
The recruiter has to recover from the Hawaii trip. So exhausting! nm

A company full of people on a power trip!
Absolutely correct, as well as the fact that most people who move up in that company are totally unqualified butt-kissers.

Yep.
I usually shoot off an e-mail when I have to make a quick trip
unless it will take longer than 10 mins or so.  I live in a small town so nothing takes much more than 10 mins!  They have NEVER micromanaged me and I highly doubt they will ever start unless I start to become some sort of slacker, which I won't.
Business trip to Vegas makes absolute sense
I agree  with the above poster.  Management told us in an e-mail that the new accounts coming aboard were clients who pursued TT.  Being that TT has a major account in Las Vegas,  ... now another potential client in the same area.  I have seen this happen many times with services I have worked for.  It is called word of mouth and not that unusual to get clients this way.
Didn't that TransTech email about them going to Vegas and us POOR MT's paying for that trip ju

rub us struggling MT's when she sent out that email to us.  She didn't say how many went to LV -- just bye . . . we're off!

Enjoy the light of the Dictaphone flashlight begging for a job for you, while we enjoy the lights of Vegas !

YUK !  Totally irritated this TT MT.  Sickening, in fact.
