Precyse has had problems with lack of work, too. They offshore heavily.
nm
They do offshore and that is why I quit
/
Anyone been fired or quit Precyse?
Would like to know the reasons!
Take Precyse Solutions in GA off the list because they most definitely do offshore....
They do hire American MTs though, along with all of their MTs in India
do i have to quit MQ to work for wedmedx
Help! Do I have to quit my job with MQ to work part-time with Webmedx?
RE: do i have to quit MQ to work for wedmedx
Not unless you want to. Your choice.
quit mq to work for webmdx
i was told they have an ER account that is busy on the weekends...
You don't have to quit. Just work the hours
you are scheduled for and don't depend on them for anything. Put your energies into the other two positions you have and more dependence on them. This job will take care of itself, because they know you can't make a living with the way they are behaving. They will either give you more work to keep you, or if you don't care what they do, the job will just disappear on its own. If you must quit, I think it would be safe to say to them that they are not meeting YOUR needs and that you must move on. I have done it several times because I have been in the same position you are in that I would call bait and switch. Some of they were glad to see me go, others wanted to keep me, but I can't stay unless I am making the money that I REQUIRE to make a living.
I quit due to lack of work. I know of 6 others who also
quit before I did due to lack of work. There are some accounts that have a lot of work, but unless you can work on those accounts it isn't much of a help. I had 3 accounts and with the rare exception of when there was a 2-week period of OT available, I was only getting maximum of 18 hours week. I attempted working during all 3 shifts, working my days off and still couldn't get in my hours/lines. I asked for more accounts, I was willing and able to work, the quality of my work was excellent and I received multiple e-mails from my STM stating how pleased they were with my work, so the excuse that I just couldn't cut it is BULL.
I don't know what the work load is like since I left, but I do know what it was like when I was there and there just wasn't work on my 3 accounts and anyone could see the numbers on the updates and see there were accounts that had tons of work, but there were many accounts with low numbers too. We were also told that under no circumstances would we be paid for downtime.
My current company has had some days where work may not have been available on your shift to complete your line committment, but they pay us for any downtime and we don't have to worry about trying to make it up on a different shift or our days off. The pay is probably less than what we would make transcribing, but is a generous amount.
I have worked for companies that were much worse than WMX, but currently work for one much better. When someone asks how things are there I am honest in my assessment as I see them, but usually get negative posts in return about how I'm not willing to take on more accounts and my work isn't good enough, etc. That is all BULL.
If anyone goes back and read the archives there are many similar posts to mine that were not made by me.
If you have lots of work, have a good STM, and are happy well I'm happy for you, but because someone else has a different story doesn't mean they are a bitter ex-employee who just couldn't cut it.
I just quit Medquist, hired by Etrans and quit them after one afternoon during the last two weeks!sm
Medquist made me buy a new computer to go to the "Docuscribe" system that was so much better than cottage. When I got there I took a real big pay cut to the tune of probably 30 to 40%. I was getting paid gross lines doing Cedars-Sinai operative reports. I asked for more per line and my supervisor just laughed and said you think were going to pay you $0.12 a line to just do operative reports! I said I quit. I should have said F you and your mamma too:( I had been there all together 7 years through buyouts. I am just sick of it all. I'm going to go sew my daughter a cute little Halloween outfit right now.
How do you tactifully quit when you have been begging for work?
I was hired in at a big national. I was warned on this board about this company overhiring and running out of work, but I felt I had to give it a chance. Well, after the first week of training was over, I have literally ran out of work everyday and requested a back up account, which I only received 4 hours pay of training to do. Now, the primary and secondary account is out of work, and in order to make any money I have to stay up until midnight to make up hours if the work is available. If the work is not available, I have to fill out a nonpaid PTO request. I have only been with the company a little over 4 weeks and I cannot believe this is happening. I barely made 42 hours last week and will have a small check yet again this pay. I have had it, I have finally learned to not put all my eggs in one basket and have obtained an IC position with another company and a full-time editing job with another company to keep a pay check coming in. My question is, how do I quit this job with no work? What do I tell them? I do not want to be rude or leave in a bad standing. How do I quit after less than 6 weeks on the job. I have to quit because my bills are backing up. Any suggestions on what to say to quit with tact would be appreciated.
Thank you all.
I worked for them a year ago and quit, but now I work for them again and....
I am very happy. I could never get any work before or if I had a question I could never get it answered. I am now on a different platform at a different hospital and am happy. Pay is also always on time (direct deposit.) I could care less if they are indian run, they pay me on time and leave me to my work.
I quit twice. Both times for the same reason...low/no work. nm
x
No India? Most of the work goes there. I quit last August SM
could not make any money there.
Or you could just quit and leave more work for the rest of us... Or, I know - you could sm
do your OWN WORK and stop policing everyone else?!
Well, go back to work and quit trying to stir the pot.
Quit MQ in June - still in shock with new job. Plenty of work, OT available. (sm)
I just can't tell you how fortunate I feel. The bonus program is good and understandable, you don't have to be a math genius to figure it out. I have 2 accounts, great supervisor, pleasant office staff. For those of you still unhappy with your current jobs, keep the faith, there are good companies out there. Good luck on your search.
I felt that exact same way and quit a job that was not work out..6 weeks and 30 applications sm
later I am a temporary employee at Walmart for 6.00/hr. Still more than I was making at my production job but how humiliating.
Just do your work and quit being a cherry picking busy body.
Maybe some people cannot understand the dictator. If you understand the dictator, then just do the report and quit whining on this board.
They offshore work
Some of their people are really nice but they send a lot of work offshore. They care about the all mighty dollar and not the people that work for them....
He would have fun with the work being sent offshore
If WE are going to be nick picked for commas, semi-colons, etc., then what in the world happens to those reports being sent offshore? They don't understand English let alone where to place a comma or not to cap a generic drug name. When then day comes for me to correct offshoring mistakes ---- I will kiss this job good-bye.
They offshore and u run out of work!!!
You will run out of work as it is with them and when they find offshore to cover the account, you will lose all your work!!!!!!!!! They are a lying bunch of theives!!!
It is well known they offshore their work.
They do not hide that, just wondered if it went to 100% now.
I wouldn't quit a decent company for seasonal low work volume.
I'd hang around and see what the New Year brings. I wouldn't say that if you were working for MQ, but I would for a company with a decent reputation. If it is still slow in January, I'd talk to my supervisor and find out what her take is on the situation.
Companies that do not offshore work
Are there any companies that pay a good line rate and are good to there MTs that do not offshore there work? I am trying to help a friend looking for part time work, but she is staying clear of those that offshore..
Any help would be appreciated.
They offshore. That's where all the easy work goes.
All that's left for U.S. MTs is ESL and difficult dictations.
They still offshore. I work for a better company
and they don't offshore.
does not send work offshore
MedScript Services in Florida
the offshore work - BTDT -
Does OSI send work offshore?
If so I won't bother. TIA
THey offshore the good work. nm
It if offshore work. You'd be better off working
at Wal-Mart.
She's right TT does NOT send work offshore.
Never have and never will. The day they do is the day I quit because I never have worked for a company that offshored and I never will.
OSI does send offshore work
nm
Yes. I will not work for companies which offshore.
If we all did that, the companies would have no choice but to come back and give us our jobs back.
They claim it is only 15%, but it is more like 60% offshore work.
The offshore swine get preferential treatment over the US transcriptionists. The screen shows there is work to do and suddenly everything is gone but the bad dictators, and I do not mean 10 jobs, I am talking at least 45 jobs at one time off my accounts just disappeared. I thought about changing my name to hari skrishna for a while so I could get some work, but found another job instead.
Do they send work offshore?
Just wondering.
I used to work for Precyse and...
they are a good company. They weren't for me because I am used to working my own schedule. They require you to work specific hours (usually you can choose them) and I just couldn't do it with 2 small kids. (If something comes up you can e-mail them and make up the time later.)
They provide all equipment. Their QA staff is really great - positive and helpful. You will most of the time get your QA stuff back within a few hours - always within 24 hours. Their platform is easy to use. I worked on quite a few accounts while I was there and they were all pretty decent. One had some crummy ESLs as the majority, but I didn't work on it much so can't say if it would have gotten better with time and adjustment on my part. (I usually adjust just fine to ESLs - these were mumblers as well)
They do have good benefits and you can accumulate PTO, which you can use at any time you wish - all or part of it. So if you just need extra money one pay period, you can ask them to add it on. You can also check your balance of PTO at any time. Also, they have direct deposit and pay is always on-time - without exception. They also mail you your stub and it always came exactly on time. Also, the payroll person is very accessible for any questions, etc. She even sent an e-mail out to us once because the paystubs (direct deposit was already in the bank) were late and she wanted to apologize - she had used a different post office.
The other thing that was a drawback for me, but you may not mind, is they do send out a lot of e-mails with account updates, asking for help, etc. That's not so bad but it was 3-4 time daily thing and they started getting to me. However, they do also offer bonuses quite regularly and other incentives too. They do believe in motivation and recognition for those that go the extra mile.
Also, they do quarterly reviews and do value quality work.
They are a good company overall. I know you will see various opinions on this board about them, but the only 2 negatives for me were as above - the e-mails and the set hours. Honestly, though, if it weren't that I was so bogged down with my children's schedules, I would have stayed with them. If you can handle those things, then the positives outweigh the negatives.
I work for Precyse
I have worked for Edix and Medquist in the past and Precyse is definitely a cut above those 2. It is a smaller company, but they are very good to work for and ....get this....they actually value their MTs! They don't call you MTs or staff, but colleagues. Everyone is respected equally here. I have owned my own business and have worked for the other large nationals listed above, and feel that I have found my home. I think you will be very pleased with Precyse. Their platform is web based, called Correct Type (Precyse calls it PrecyseType, but it is the same web-based program we used at MQ). Very user friendly. Staff of Precyse is excellent. It is not an easy company to get a job with, so if you have been offered a position, go for it! I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
Precyse - no work
Is this typical? I have only 2 accounts and never have enough work. I have asked twice for an extra account with no response back. Their TAT seems very quick so I'm wondering if they over-hire so they meet TAT and we sit here with nothing to do. Haven't been here even a month but certainly can't afford this.
I *do* work at Precyse and most of the work is going to India
Not much. They offshore, too. You'll get all the crap work.
I thought Transcend did not offshore work.
x
Work for a company that doesn't offshore
Wbx doesn't even send work offshore. nm
.
Is there consistent work at MDI-Fl, Precyse, or
nm
Is there always lots of work at Precyse? Do they do
nm
Anybody work for Precyse Solutions?
Any feedback from their employees or ex-employees would be appreciated. Thanks.
Good Lord! You want to go back to 1918, like my grandma who quit school in 3rd grade to go work
in a box factory? No, child labor laws have nothing to do with poor work ethic. It is simple enough to develop good work ethic with laundry, chores, etc. I think it is more the prosperity of the last few generations. When you have lots of money, it's hard not to give it to your kids, spares you the unpleasant feeling of watching them struggle and suffer...
TransHealth does not send work offshore. Hires only US MTs. nm
time to work offshore hours and grab
all you can away from the 'partners,' eh?
