QED hires part-time and full-time transcriptionists, with a required minimum of 600 lines per day for PT and 1200 lines per day full time. A line is considered 58 characters on some of the more difficult accounts, 60 characters on some of the other accounts (as I understand it). Any lines above 6000 lines per week is 7 cents a line, and then 8 cents per line for a certain number of lines over that--but that is very difficult to attain. (The pay scale is a little bit more complicated than that, but that is basically it).
They hire both acute care transcriptionists with many years experience and clinical transcriptionists who just finishing training. They have quite a few different accounts to meet the needs of various transcriptionists.
They are struggling to keep their transcriptionists in work and are doing a fairly good juggling act, but the trade-off for transcriptionists is a less flexible schedule than what one might prefer. Instead of requiring a certain number of lines per day at your leisure, they require you to choose a schedule that works for you and stick with it--i.e., not be away from your desk more than 15 minutes during your chosen time, begin on time, end on time, etc. or contact the help desk if you must deviate from your schedule, be counted tardy if you are not there on the dot, etc. Also, there are constant requests for working on the weekends, AFTER you have satisfied your commitment for during your regular schedule.
To summarize, the pay is low; the schedule is not as flexible as it could be. They do provide the equipment, and you might or might not like that arrangement. You certainly can't pop over and check your own e-mail while you are on their computer.
They do offer health and dental insurance for full-time employees, paid days off and unpaid days off.
One more thing, low pay notwithstanding, they are really sticklers for accuracy, but I've found it easy to meet the accuracy requirements.
For reference, I have 20 years' transcription experience in a variety of settings, including acute care and clinical.
There are many, many ESL dictators in the accounts that I am assigned to.

Webinar -Evolving Medical Transcription: Technology's impact on traditional transcription process
Hey everyone, check out this link. This is what we are up against. Be sure and note how 3M or whoever is the sponsor of this webinar throws in that dictation and transcription is time-consuming. Nevermind that EMR and VR take more time and money to be successful and it only takes 38 seconds to dictate a returning patient and 2 minutes to dictate a new patient versus 500 clicks on a point and click EMR or the mess VR makes and having to have an Editor come in and clean up the mess. Propaganda that we should know about.

Don't confuse CC Transcription with C&C Transcription
Please don't confuse CC Transcription with C&C Transcription, they are two totally separate companies. Also C&C Transcription does NOT offer direct deposit.

I started last week working for them. I was promised my main account would be radiology. Of course, lied to again. They have ME on five accounts. I have only done VA. The instructions for the account are absolutely ridiculous. Who has time to review 18 pages of dialogue for an account??? Then some have templates, and VA you have to fill in headers and footers, and use periods in MD and other stupid stuff. Then you have to do a monthly schedule, and I have had nothing but trouble with that. I sent it as an attachment, as required, but it is not the "right" format. I am supposed to have tech support fix my email, and the account manager is snooty as heck. I am literally shaking I am so frustrated and angry with this place. I took a chance and re-contacted my job I just resigned from, and I got my job back. eTransPlus is a great place. I highly recommend applying there.
QA vs. transcription
I have done QA for about 4 years and left the company, and I would like to do transcription, but I only type about 55-60 words a minute. Should I try different companies to see if they will hire me. And will speed come? I have enough medical terminology, but it's the speed I'm concerned about.
QA vs. transcription
As you probably already know, quality is much more important than speed in transcription. Just keep plugging away with quality as your #1 goal, and the speed will come with practice. Also, I suggest trying one of those typing test websites to work on your speed. Good luck!
Transcription help
Is there anybody out there that would be willing to mentor an MT. I try to find MT friends but have no luck, as nobody wants to give me their name. I like these boards but sometimes I need longer explanations about things. I was just wondering if there was a group or something or individuals who do that.

Pj transcription
I did work for PJ for months and you might as well go back to school, cause at least then you dont expect pay, with PJ you wont get paid either. I did give notice and never recieved anything except experience. good luck
Pjs Transcription
All is works for as we speak. Your right, there is no excuse for it, and others will get caught in it too which is a shame to take advantage of new MTs.
PJs transcription
I have nothing to gain from this posting. This business owner has already stolen over $500 from me and I will have to fight to get it back -- might get ugly. I do not take pleasure in demoralizing anyone. Just don't want it to happen to anyone else -- so here we go....word of mouth. By the way, congratulations on your business ownership -- it's quite an accompliment to run an honest, productive business.

Does this company have radiology and urology? If this is the one I am thinking of, I was going to start working for them, but then the girl training me admitted that she didn't like certain reports or dictators and would skip them - that was all I needed to hear - of course that is what would be left for me to do - the crap work - and I have done all of that kind of work for most of the past 15 years - and I am tired of it - ESLs, long reports for little pay, etc. If you have the names of someone with the company - I would be happy to confirm if this is one in the same.
abc transcription
I tried this address and it says not found.

There is a TON of work. The people are very nice to work for. Very happy there.
QA not transcription
She's talking about QA for $4000.00 a month at 1.5 cents a line, not transcription.
AS&M Transcription
Is anyone employed by this company or know of someone who is? Is it the real deal?
VR and Transcription
Can anyone recommend a good company where I can perform both voice recognition and transcription? Thank You
C&C TRANSCRIPTION
Perhaps you are confusing C&C Transcription with CC Transcription - there are a couple of C&C's in Florida - C&C Transcription in Orlando, has not contracted anyone new in over a year. Any and all correspondence with them would have relayed this message. They have had a freeze on all new IC's -C&C is still doing medical transcription and has been for over 14 years but has now branched off into DVDs, CDs, VHS, anykind of tape and any and all forms of convention and business dictation.
US Transcription
They are real because my company that I work for deals with them.
However, I have tried writing to them on there website and have never gotten a reply. Perhaps it doesn't work?!
US Transcription sm
I haven't worked there, but I've seen the work that comes from there. It's for crap. Seriously. I wonder if they hire mostly all new MT grads; which is fine, grads have to start somewhere. But I can't say much for their QA program then. I know they have some experienced people working for them, but most of the work I've seen is slop. I wouldn't work for them.
WNC Transcription
Has anybody worked for this company? Any feedback would greatly be appreciated.
