Level 4 is pretty standard stuff, I would say.
Not difficult. WTs like the OP said.
Left MQ at 8.75 cpl and had 2 offers - one for 9.5 and the other for 10, FT with benefits. (nm)

Webmedx offers benefits for FT MTs; not sure sm
how many years of experience you must have but I'd think 7-8.5 cpl to start for acute care, if you can do ops. Plus there's a bonus / incentive package for shift differential and weekends.
what company offers the best health benefits?
What company offers the best health benefits?
As far as:
waiting period before they start (I'm looking for 90 days or less),
how much they cost for yourself and dependents (I have myself +1 - spouse - can pay maybe $300/month out of paycheck at most),
PEC lookback period (preexisting condition - example - look back 3 months is better than 1 year),
pharmacy cost (I need a flat rate copay, not a percentage, with no yearly cap, and brand names and generics)
Anyone who has been happy or unhappy with their insurance through their work-at-home MT company, please share your experience and opinions. Thanks

Is there a company who offers benefits to parttime employees?
Just curious
Seeking company that offers good benefits including insurance.
Ideally, I'd like to find a company that offers medical insurance at a reasonable cost for family (under $500 a month) and a decent line count rate. Anyone have any ideas on this. Thanks.
Can anyone provide a name of a good smaller company to work for that offers decent benefits..
I want to get away from the "nationals". I know there are smaller transcription companies out there looking for a good MT.. Hopefully someone will have some good advice for me.
MDI florida, pretty good benefits,
transcription super, Debbie, very easy to work with, down-to-earth. Pay 10 cpl if you have Meditech experience for acute care/radiology. Saw in one post where they were willing to train. Worth looking into. I work for them, good company so far.
Webmedx has pretty good benefits sm
The benefits at Webmedx are pretty good. You are eligible for benefits after 90 days. I am paying about $400 per month for a family plan for health, dental, and vision. The coverage is pretty good for general visits and pharmacy, but there is either a $1000 or $2000 deductible (depending on which plan you choose) for hospitalization, after which insurance pays 80% and you pay the rest. There is also a deductible for certain medical supplies. My son is a type 1 diabetic and we have to pay a $1000 deductible for his insulin pump supplies. Not the best insurance that I've ever had, but it is much cheaper than what my husband can get through his work (he would have to pay $1000 per month in premiums for a family plan).
Pretty low line rate, mediocre benefits. I had to turn

They have a low level 4, high level 4 and level 5.

Level 2 is clinic and level 3
Level 1 is ER work. It's ER, but I get a great line count. Plenty of macros and normals, we are paid for all of them.
level 1 - mt
I need to be taken under someones wing i am a stuggling MT trying to improve my skills. My accuracy level is less than 90 percent can someone help me get going and get out of this catch 22. I only have dial -up access. Nothing else is available.
I'm a level 8. sm
I tested very well and negotiated the level 8 rate. I honestly do not know how common it is, but I'd encourage you to give it a try. =)
You would probably be a level 8 or 9, between 9-10 cpl. nm
xxxx
Top pay level
is .10/line. There are additional incentives such as for weekends, etc.
entry level
any 1 know of entry level MT jobs in centrl txs or at hme..???
Entry level
Has anyone received a response from the entry level position on a pediatric account with Medtransolutions?
What level work was that for? sm
Clinic or acute care? What level? TIA
entry level
I'm thinking about getting my MT certificate and need some advice. Is it hard to find work as an entry level mt? Also, does it matter where I get my certificate (at home or reg classroom)? Do most companies have set hours or do you work when you want? I'm really excited about this new career! Any advise?
level of testing
Can someone tell me type of radiology testing given by Keystrokes, (written, typing test, verbal)...do they have benefits...take out taxes, etc?. I am thinking seriously about applying if only to do part-time work for a while to see how things pan out.
Why entry level only?
I see where World Wide Dictation is looking for entry level transcriptionists to do non-medical work.....insurance claims, paying up to 9.5 cpl. Why only entry level? If it's such simple work, why not let anyone in who is willing to do it for the amount offered?
I was just hired as a level IV...sm
The recruiter said level IV was acute care with ops and 30-40% ESL dictation.
Not sure what any of the other levels are though. Sorry!
They have NO level 5 accounts, though, never have.
x
What level were you hired at? sm
I was recently hired as an Acute Care Level IV, so I'm anxious to see what the ESL load looks like too. The recruiter said 30-40%, but then she also said it could be less than that. I'm hoping for the latter!!!
MQ has a tier 3 level that is only Ops
nm
Level 3 work
Does anyone else feel this way? I'm a longtime acute care MT. I always work my schedule, including weekends and holidays, have 98% to 99% accuracy. I left MQ because of the changes; for years I averaged 200-250 lph and net $600. per week. Then they changed platforms and I got nothing but ESL, mealymouths and static. My income dropped in half and my stress level doubled. I went to a company that has gotten rave reviews on this board and was put on a good account with fair line counts. Then it began running out of work just as I was starting to see decent money. They put me on a backup account (which is all I've been getting for days now, not my primary) and it is nothing but ESLs. I KNOW there are decent dictators at every facility, and I'm willing to do my share of the bad ones, but ALL BAD? What gives? Do they WANT me to quit? I'm not complaining so don't jump all over me. I'm just curious if others are noticing this too.
What is a level 2 MT at Mescribe
I was told if I took the position with them I would be a level 2 MT. I asked the recruiter what was a level 2 MT. He said he would have to get back with me after Easter break. I know they have clinic MTs, ER MTs and Acute care MTs. Can someone clarify for me what a level 2 MT is at Medscribe. Thanks
Level 3 MTs at my old co. used to have to do 1700 (sm)
But that was only the level 3/CMT equivalent employees. Level 2's had to do 1400 and level 1's 1200. Pay scale was per level, so if you were paid more you had to produce more.
I wasn't crazy about it.
MT entry level?
Lately I have read where companies offering you an MT position and then say you have an opportunity for advancement. This really ticks me off!! I Love being an MT, have always felt that an Acute Care/Hospital Medical Transcriptionist was at the top. I personally would not want a QA or administration position and certainly do not feel I would be making a move up…at the absolute least it would be just a different move.
The only thing I do not like about being an MT is that most companies don't give raises if you get paid per line or are an IC. I have been doing this for 12+ years and companies want to pay the same rates per line as 12 years ago. The only way to make more money is to type faster and/or more hours. They have forget about the cost of living that keeps going up.
Wrong on only maybe one level, but probably right on all!
ePLDT, Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT
The above is one of their partners. Obviously they are not based in America.
The above is from their site, just Google Spi and click on partners. I am wrong that they are the i service connected to the Philippines, not Korea. The other i service is connected to and with management in Korea. Gotta look out for those i guys, I guess. Korea, Phillipines, who cares? They are offshore. They are not our buddies.
I too type Indian doctors, but they speak English (or attempt to in some cases).
Thanks for the comments though. Are, is, who cares? That is what happens when you type stuff here on your break.
i am not the OP, but I am high level 4, and all of my 4 SM
accounts are in OT now. My account is considered 70% to 90% ESL. So that is just what I have experienced here lately. I suppose you are right about it depending on the level and worktypes that you can do. Definitely talk to the STM, as they are always willing to help you out if they can. Good luck!
Two offers
I jumped at the first offer because I was on a long dry spell. The next day I got another offer. Same pay but excellent samples, directions, you name it. Better than the first company. First company is like typing in an old DOS program, second company uses Word. First company requires a different type pedal, second company (I USE MY OWN). Can I do them both?
I got many offers off of here
and two other places I can't mention or my posts get deleted.
MDI -MD offers 24 hrs, I think. nm

HELP, 2 offers
on the table.
One offer is Med-Scribe, FL. I did get offered the split shift that I prefer also.
Other offer is Medquist for more cpl. I was offered a split shift that I am not too fond of but need split shift.
I am weighing pros and cons of each and am stuck. Any info to help me weigh these two companies would be great......like what flexibility each has, anybody working for either, anybody happy with either?
low offers
I agree that there will always be someone willing to accept a low offer just to gain some experience. But, you get what you pay for. If a company expects quality work, we can expect quality pay for said work! The turnover rates would be a lot lower and the MTs (and MTSOs) would be a lot happier. It's a win-win situation.
Does anyone ever hire entry level MT?
Hi all, I was wondering if there is any company out there hiring for entry level MTs. I have the Medical background and the typing skills. I'm a fast learner and looking to work at home as an MT. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks
Laurie
Some are tied to QA level, some aren't. sm
But they are very good people and reserve the right to pay you the bonus even if you don't make the QA standard if there is an extenuating circumstance (new account, stuff like that). They have paid me for things like lost documents, etc., so they are not difficult on paying people.
did they mention anything higher than level IV? sm
for higher percentage of ESLs?
What's the difference between low and high level 4?
Just curious what to expect.
Thanks!
I left MQ and went to work for them. I am level 8 SM
and on an account with lots of ESLs and started out doing DS which for me, not very productive. I put in my 2 weeks notice, and told my team leader why.
Has anyone worked for The Executive Level, Inc.
out of Ridgeland, MS? Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks!
They recently cut my pay back to the level
it was 3 years ago when I started, with no notice and no reason, so I quit. They cut back everybody's pay due to their mismanagement.
Otherwise, I liked working for them and would not have left.
For acute care level 3
me 8. Their recruiter called responding to my email today. She was nice. Plus the incentive and differentials if you do an evening shift. She sent me a file to type and I am going to do that tonight. I will let everyone know how it goes. MK.
The level of cherry picking that goes on
at Phoenix is outrageous. They 'ask' that you do certain amount of the easy docs and your share of the others but do not enforce it. Some get on the system at 4 am just to snatch all the easy ones. And they 'ask' that you proof read your work but in talking to others who report doing 200-300-400 lines an hour...now you tell me..how much proof reading is really happening? There are different platforms involved and some pay spaces but at a lower rate. Yep, they are nice and they pay on time but work there only if you enjoy the daily irritation of being left with hard/crap dictators.
Webmedx-Entry level?
Does Webmedx ever hire entry-level MTs? Anyone gotten hired with less than the 2 years experienced required? I have about 6 months acute care. Is Webmedx one of the companies that will wave this experience for an MT from one of the AAMT-approved schools?
Hiring MTs with entry level exp
I have just graduated from a MT program and am looking for work. I am willing to work the hours no one else wants. Can anyone suggest companies that hire MTs with entry level experience. My husband is working in Iraq and I would like to supplement his income so he can come home.
Well, on the one level of unionization, I do feel
but I've learned after a coupla' years on this board that it's way too easy to rub people the wrong way. Also, I've been in MT long enough that I basically don't trust ANYBODY, so half the time I'm trying to read between the lines to see who is a Management snoop, etc. One just can't be too careful these days. I don't do personal emails to people on this board because by doing so, my name & personal ISP address would then be visible.
So, although I'm very interested in anything that anybody has to say about MT on this website, ESPECIALLY if they're talking unions, for me all communication has to be posted here, 'cause I won't email.
;)
