I believe Transnet is how ExText is connected. Easy to use. Most demographics are

I was told needed special foot pedal for Transnet,
x
Pretty sure only when you're connected to the VPN
x
Is it only when I'm connected or is it All The Time, even when not connected to their system?

They're kind of new. Offered 7.5 and 3 cpl for their eScription. Needed a 9-pin pedal. FT/IC only

I use my own foot pedal. It isn't an EMDAT pedal either, just a regular WAV pedal. nm

Only difference I've noticed is the DVI vs non-DVI pedal. Otherwise, regular Infinity pedal shoul

From Tu-Wed of Sept until Thu, Oct 9,, SM
are the Jewish High Holy Days. I don't know how many doctors today are Jewish, but, if they are, they are probably taking time off.
However, that company seems to have a problem throughout the year.
I hope that explains some of the problem.
That's Sept 30 through Oct 9.

Hmm. Did in Oct and it is Sept? I dont think thats too bad

First Choice uses WP5.1, at least in Sept of 2006
The people I spoke to on the phone and by e-mail were very pleasant, the job sounded great. I chose another MTSO but was left with a very good impression of this company. They did work in WP5.1, at least in September of 2006. Good luck to you.
Their ad from Sept. on the other board said only hiring 4p-8a. Don't

They use the StartStop software&pedal, but your own pedal might be compatible. Very
s
I will start there on Sept. 8. They have a nice benefits package, sm
and the pay via the incentive tier seems fair and easily attainable, although since I have not started on the account, I cannot really say for sure -- if it is an atrocious account, then of course that changes everything. I have not read anything bad about the company, though, so to me that is a good sign. I will be using ExText, which I have used before, so that is another plus for me.
As for choosing between IC and employee, I guess that depends upon whether you need the benefits. If you do not need the bennies and are still interested in working for them, maybe you could negotiate a bit higher line rate ... I do not know, just guessing. They also have a bonus program if you keep to your schedule each quarter, so that is a nice plus.
Good luck with whatever you decide. Like you, I would like to find a home. I have an IC position that I love and will probably never totally give up, but I would like to have the benefits and some of the tax hassle erased.
Yes, it's only when you are connected to VPN, sm
because essentially you are then on the company's server. As soon as you disconnect your VPN, that communication path is shut down.
That disclaimer you read when you log onto a VPN is just a formality.
How do you stay connected to the job you are
doing if you answer the phone with call waiting?
Ohhhh okay. So MDI-MD and MDI-FL are not connected?
I worked for a hospital that laid all their MTs off and outsourced everything to MDI-MD. We were all offered jobs with MDI-MD, but I opted not to go with them and after reading all the hoopla below, I feel I made the right decision. I wonder if any of the gals I worked with are the unhappy or the happy MDI'ers?
You are connected to their system and they can
monitor everything that goes on on the computer, though I really think they have better things to do.
Totally agree. Not only that, they only were connected
when I checked them out, no IC or SE positions then, and acted like I was a bit out of my gourd to request situations that had mainly ER or no OPs.
Just a time-waster for me, totally. And I used to post a link to them on various boards when they first came out, because it sounded like such a great idea (but I usually made sure to mention that I couldn't vouch for them since no experience with them myself ... now I can say that I *definitely* don't vouch for them).
How is SGS connected to TTD (Transcription Doctors)?
Did SGS buy TTD?
They do supply standard, but I have connected my IBM keyboard.
xx
Your post is SO odd. 1 day, you're asking for help, running your whole
situation by us all, asking for advice. In less than 1 day, you have totally pulled 360-degree switch, to now working for another company, MQ is in your history, and you've got it all figured out. How did you come to this end result in 24 hours or less?? Or did you just feel like bashing MQ? Otherwise, your post is totally off on timing - now you're already a seasoned MT at a company who will refine your skills! In hours! Boy, you are good! But why ask for help??
Where is the post to which you're referring?
I can't find any that have the arrow
I'm sorry you're in a bad place, but when you make a post
others who are currently working for or are looking for employment with Medware. I honestly think you need to give at least a little explanation instead of doing such a hit and run comment. But I really do wish you the best. I hope you get a better job soon. (By the way, I don't think anyone pays too much attention to Wilma :).
We're not allowed to post names or even
initials here. Their website might give some insight. The CEO and his brother own the company, but CEO is active in the company and he doesn't know his rear end from a whole in the ground and is motivated by GREED. He just kinds of plays it by ear as he goes and after talking with him you feel like you need hip boots and a shower.
Don't understand your post. I hope you're not sm
faulting the MTs who are stuck with dialup because DSL/broadband is not offered in their areas.
When you post something like that and sign it that you're not happy, sm
the bashers have a field day. I wrote a post a few months back that was taken wrong and by the end of the thread, it appeared that KS is the worst company in the world. To me, it is the opposite. I have been around the block too many times, and they are far and above the others out there including all the bigger ones and most of the smaller ones!
Things written on a public board can be taken wrong and can damage the reputation of a company or person. My daughter is going through a bad time right now because of a post that was supposed to be a joke. She's 14 and they are no different than adults when they see something to jump on.
If you're referring to the 20K-line post, I am NOT mgmt...sm
I make this type of line count because I'm willing to work on different accounts and work extra when the need arises. I LIKE paying my bills, so I am flexible - and that, in this day and age, is on of the real keys. Nothing is as it used to be when work was consistent and pay was better, but I need to pay the bills. I have a great communication with my supervisor, and that is another key. If you don't talk to somebody about your problems or lack of work of whatever, it cannot be fixed. I don't care if I have to learn every acct the company has - I'm going to do that, because it will ensure that I can maintain a good line count at the end of the payroll period, thereby affording me a better check.
The basic fact is that working for a company is no different than any other aspect of your life. If it's not working for you, then you MUST make a change. Complaining about something will not change it - and ultimately you will spend your life feeling miserable - and trying to make other people feel miserable, too. I choose the opposite.
I've been at a multitude of other nationals and, for me and for now, this IS the company that I'm happy with and with whom I intend to stay.
You can go ahead and flame away - 'cause while you're sitting here typing nasty responses, accusing me of being mgmt, or making negative responses about Transcend, I'm working away. Now if that sounds "condescending" to you, TOUGH!
see post below "if you're thinking of quitting"
that's the one.
You're right...that post doesn't make any sense...sm
How could high producers mess things up for the rest of us, when, in the past few weeks, we were offered incentives on most of the accounts to keep them in TAT by working extra?? And how could a responsible member of management even state something to that effect? The only logical conclusion is that this particular poster wants to discourage high production (on his-/her OWN accord) in other MTs to keep the pickings greener for him-/herself.
Try re-reading the original post...you're missing the point
Read that post below on hospitals? They're definitely good for great bennies! nm

Transnet
Transnet is a program, usually provided by the company/hospital as they usually pay Dictaphone for the cost of the licence. You would need a wav pedal to play files through your computer.
transnet (sm)
click on icon for transnet at bottom of screen. When the little box pops up, do you see a more to click? You should. Click on more and then there is a way to make it louder, softer, more backup, less backup, and I think it is called play rate. Do you see this?
I have used Transnet before...sm
You do need a special footpedal in order for it to work.
Transnet
Right right, slow for transcription too. I got paid 13 cpl using Transet and realized why the pay was so high, because the software is sooooo slow and I got nothing done. I make more money now on a different account with less pl rate. Good Luck. I lated almost two years.
Can you use an IN-DB9 with TransNet?
Anyone know?
TRANSNET, NINA
What is your situation? I work with Nina when she needs my help.
Transnet/Extext
What companies use Dictaphone software?
I'm going to be using MedTran and Transnet
Any info on either system would be appreciated. TIA!
Transnet/Exttext
Does anyone use this software on a laptop; if so, have you experienced any problems with it? Thanks!
EXText and Transnet
Has anyone worked on a system utilizing a VPN client and Word Client before? The voice player is called Transnet, but Word Client appears to be EXText. This seems to be quite a complicated process to learn. Anyone else have problems with this in the past?
Dictaphone TransNet
Dictaphone TransNet is voice file player software that installs on your computer.
You need a foot pedal and a boomerang attachment between the foot pedal and your computer to control playback. It attaches to a USB connection on your computer.
To use it, you establish a secure connection with the Dictaphone server, jobs are downloaded to your TransNet program, and you transcribe the files. When done, you sign the jobs off and they show in the server as completed, and other files will automatically download as they are available.
Any other specific questions, let us know. :) Good luck!
extext word/transnet
OSi and Trans-Tech use that platform.
Dictaphone Transnet question - sm
Brief overview of Dictaphone Transnet? What equipment/software would you need to buy? Thank you!
Yes you can - go on Transnet playback rate
nm
Transnet is just the Dictaphone system SM
you use to download voice files from a file server on the Internet - you can adjust speed, volume, backstop, etc. The client/MTSO assigns dictators to you, just simply sign on, download, and type away.
Little box for transnet player question. (sm)
Is there a way to move this box up to the top of the screen and out of the way of the document so you can leave it open while typing report? Hate to call Tech support if it is really something simple. I tried to just move it, but can't seem to get it done.
Any help appreciated.
Transnet Player Not Working
I have a USB pedal, which normally works with just about everything, but cannot get it to work with the Transnet player. When I manually click on the play arrow on the player itself, it plays, but not with the pedal. What could be wrong?
Need some information on Transnet system please (sm)
There is something in the archives from December 2008 basically telling how the pedal works. What I want to know is, since the jobs are downloaded does it take longer to get the reports? Has the speed of downloading the jobs improved since 2006? From what I read in the archives it takes forever to d/l jobs but that was a couple years ago so if anyone is using Transnet, please let me know if it has improved any and what your general opinion of it is. TIA.
ExText Transnet Player
First of all when the player comes up click Alt+T to keep player on top. Next click Alt+M to remember position.
1. Alt+V = Volume. Move left/right arrow keys to increase or decrease.
2. Alt+P = Play. Move left/right keys as above to increase or decrease.
3. Alt+A = Auto backspace. Same principles as above.
4. Alt+R = Rewind.
5. Alt+F = Forward.
Hope this helps.
