Their platform is easy to learn...
Softscript's work interface is three-fold: a proprietary report client which downloads, uploads, and retrieves ADT; an audio player in the background; and MS Word which automatically opens the report for you--all you do in Word is type and save. I don't see why Instant Text wouldn't work; MS Word itself has a similar auto-replace function as well.
The platform is Scribe. EASY to learn and use.
The line count is straight 65 characters with spaces and you can see your count which is important to me.

Today is supposed to be my day off. I needed to do a bunch of errands and catch up and do closets. So far, it's almost 10:30 and I have been on here all morning! I need to scoot!
very easy to learn - good platform
I have worked on a few different platforms and this one works well. Very explicit account specifics as well so it makes it much easier to do your job.
Platform super easy to learn
I had heard horror stories about SoftScript before I accepted the job (realized you can't believe everything and took a chance). I gave them a shot and have been thrilled. The platform is super easy compared to some of the other Nationals I have worked for. Pay is a about 8 cpl, but that seems standard for Nationals. Tons of work.

I would recommend SoftScript to anyone and I have worked for the worst, MQ, Transcend, Medsribe, etc.
TT has plenty of work. The platform is super easy to learn and
I'm not having any trouble at all making good line counts doing ESL discharge summaries. Super nice people as well.
I love it. It is fast, easy to learn and easy to use.

It is fairly easy to use
I have been using MP Count for a while now and I believe that MP Tools will be just as easy to use. Also, if you have any issues or questions, Vann Joe is always readily available to help you. (He is the person who developed the software and I believe that Emmaus is his company). Anyway, do not be afraid of throwing your $ away, because I know from experience that Vann Joe will be able to help if you have any questions regarding the new product.
Test was really fairly easy. (sm)
I expected there to be some really difficult accents, but they weren't.

Good luck.
I thought the written was fairly easy. The typing test (sm)
was difficult for me because the specialties I was tested on were different than what I'd been working on, plus new docs that I wasn't dialed-in to, yet. Also, since the test is on a temporary platform (Express Scribe) I couldn't slow it down, and one doc was pretty fast. STILL, because of that fact I was allowed to take my time, so I looked up every term I wasn't 100% familiar with, and proofread several times. The hospital I was testing on was a state-of-the-art teaching hospital, so that meant lots of new drugs & procedures; thank goodness for the Internet! Although we are paid on production, QUALITY is the most important thing. I do a lot more proofreading than I did at my previous job, and as a result I often work longer hours to make my line count, but I can break up my day any way I need to, so I'm not chained to my desk. As a result I feel a lot more relaxed than I used to, and my blood pressure has gone down, as well.
It's easy to learn...

Not sure what kind of advice you're looking for... I don't think you should be freaking out.  It's the best platform I've ever used and it's very easy to learn.  I'm sure this isn't giving you anything helpful, but not sure what you want to know.

I usually do it the hard way too, but I learn the easy
way in the process usually.    We have to remember that computers are only machines - LOL.
Bayscribe is very easy to learn.
The training lasted about 1-1/2 hours, but most of that was installing it.  The trainer went over a few functions and the rest is in the manual, which is very easy.  I went from DocQScribe to Bayscribe without any problem.  Bayscribe doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, but it works well.  Everything is on 1 screen (all the demographics).  I have no problem making my counts on it.
I found it very easy to learn and like V8 even more. sm
I felt comfortable within a half an hour. The demographics are even easier on the version 8 (newest upgrade) and most of them are filled in for you with very little need to make changes.  Once you learn the shortcuts the editing becomes second nature.  My suggestion is to practice them one or two at a time until your fingers do them automatically and then move on to adding to your shortcuts and eventually you'll be using them all as second nature as normal typing.  I do about 90% editing and 10% typing and I'm happy with that mixture, sometimes more, sometimes less. I make more than double my lines with editing so the decreased pay per line equals more than I do with straight typing.  Of course there are days that are the exception and I get a lot more edits than usual and it brings my counts down but on a majority of days I will do about 550-600 lines editing and typing about 220 lines per hour, on a comfortable working hour.
Love Ex-Text - easy to learn

This is Dictaphone's ExText and very easy to learn. Have

Medrite is very easy to learn, transcription friendly...nm
xx
Just started it last month. It is nice and easy to learn
as long as you have experience with ExText or ExSpeech....All the things I thought were flukey with ExSpeech have now been corrected in EX Editor. You will enjoy it.
ChartScript easy to learn/use/good line count?

Please post any experiences you have had with this platform. Also, does Diskriter provide good insurance and have plenty of work?

Is it easy to get required line counts?

Platform very easy and quick - easy to get used to. :)
.
Great place - ExText is easy to learn and user friendly. Good pay. Nice, COMPETENT people.
nm
It took me, no lie 10 minutes, to learn the platform. sm
When the trainer called, I already loaded the expander, logged into the system, and was ready to go - no training needed. It took me all of 10 minutes to learn the platform; however, the account specifics is what takes a while. Like every company and account, there are certain specifics for each account.

I am liking it very much; however, I am not ready to quit my other job. I prefer working for two, so I have something to fall back on.
WordPerfect vs. Word - similar? Is WordPerfect easy to learn? OK with both on one PC? Thanks. nm
nm
Easy platform...sm
Basically, I have several accounts that I work on, but for the most part all that you have to enter in is the patient's name, DOB, DOS...the rest is usually filled in for you, click Enter or something like that, one button, and then it sends you to the report...when you are finished with that, you just click one button, check mark for QA or not, and send it through..SIMPLE and GREAT platform...not difficult at all...
The platform is NOT easy to use, sm
They do bother you and I just was not treated the way I expected to be.  I am happy you are happy with them but it did not work that way for me!!!!
Very easy platform, but I won't say it can't be tweaked a certain way. Don't think anything
s
Tell us more about why you like it. Benefits? PTO? Easy Platform?
.
Anyone know of a company that uses a very easy platform with templates...
and lots of fill in the blanks? I am trying to find part-time work that doesn't require a whole lot of typing because I have pregnancy-induced carpal tunnel syndrome. I still have several months of pregnancy left and I still need to work, so my only option is to find work that requires a lot less typing! I am just happy that this CTS is usually only temporary! I do wear wrist splints and take frequent breaks during my shift but this provides little relief. If you know of companies that use easy platforms with templates, fill in the blanks, cut and paste, etc - please let me know! Thanks in Advance!
What kind of platform does Diskriter use? Is it easy
nm
Platform is easy to use, and the people are great to work with. sm
I only work there part-time, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.  Good luck on whatever you decide.
The platform is super easy and user friendly. I have never had sm
any problems getting my lines...plus!
if easy platform and few ESLs, you'll do okay with same doctors daily.
nm
Pay always on time, platform is easy, they've always been nice to me, do have several accounts to
avoid running out of work.  I do MT and QA.
Pay is good, platform very easy. Got line count within days. (sm)
The people you work with/for are extremely helpful. There is an incentive plan which they will explain to you during interview process. No 401 match - that is a bummer. First year PTO only a few days, but picks up the next year.

Apply and have the recruiter go over it all with you. It is well worth the time.

Good luck.
I agree. I am only part time so far, but I love it. The platform is easy, and sm

the people are great.  I feel very fortunate to have stumbled onto them.

They use Dictaphone EX Text platform. Very user friendly and easy to work on.
It is all strictly internet based. No extra phone lines required. They do reimburse your high speed internet up to I think $40 a month, too.
I love it here; easy platform, plenty of work, great communication
@@@
I agree that it is an easy platform, but compared to other platforms I have used, lines are harder
to get, probably counted or weighted differently.
been with spheris 4.5 years, easy platform, good clinic account
nm
depends; can make more $ on easy platform/7 than hard platofrm/8-9 cents
nm
Easy platform, assigned accounts, always plenty of work. Great OM and boss. nm

Easy platform, PTO if you are employee, production incentive, direct deposit, work flow varies on
different accounts, but usually have enough to keep busy, lots of QA feedback.
Anyone know of a company, easy clinic work, easy Word format, dependable pay? Help!
x
you must be fairly new
because if you had been there since Aug you would have mentioned how they lied about giving us a quality incentive and then failed to give it. They hire new people to train them way before they bring on accounts and you end up not having work and then getting bombarded because they put the new people on your accounts to train. There is definitely better out there. I know, I just found better believe me. Spend some time there and you will see what I mean. Yes they do leave you alone but they also use you with no remorse. The reason why they haven't hassled you about not making your line count is because they know they are taking your work away from you and using it to train new people and they lost most of their QA people and supervisors a few months ago. There isn't anyone out there to keep track of your lines, but that too will change and you will get a very nasty warning if you have a problem in that area. If you read the Nov. newsletter there was a warning about how MTs who don't make their lines only force hospitals to give their jobs to the overseas MTs and to bear that in mind if you don't work your hours or make your lines... Its not hard to put 2 and 2 together. Its a sad place and it hasn't changed in almost 5 years.
Fairly new also and
last week was the first time I hit 35 hours. I am experiencing everything that you are. I think they are overstaffed.
that's probably not what it is then, cause I'm fairly new and
only part-time. And if nobody else got anything, then it's probably something else. I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually. Sorry to get everybody excited for nothing. I hope it's not a mistake on my bank's part. I'll do some detective work and find out who's trying to give me money.
I'm fairly new to MDI - but I was just

wondering - what's the QA like after you get through probation?

I'm still in the training/probation period.  Do they tell you at the end if they're keeping you or not?  If they keep you, how close of contact do they keep with you after that?

Just curious.

Should be fairly soon....
I believe they are quite busy right now because there are a ton of new accounts and we are busy busy!!! They are really good about being thorough however and I would think you will hear from them soon. I love it there, for what it is worth... If anyone else is going to apply and needs a referral, let me know... Jolena
I'm still fairly new, but nothing has ever been
said to me about not making line count.  I can't see how they can fire you when you don't have the work to make your lines.  If you aren't making line count and there is enough work then yes you may be terminated, though they will work with you to try to improve before that happens.
They also seem fairly flexible. sm
I was quite impressed with what they had to say and they are the best offer I've had since I started looking around 3 months ago.

Thanks again.
