What exactly does that mean? Just asking.

I don't really thing that is true. I think people like to jump all over TTers who praise TT because they are happy with their job. I do think people have a tendency to be kind of cranky and nasty when they are not sitting face-to-face with someone, and are posting anonymously. If you have any questions, ask away. I would be glad to answer them.

Your concern is 'not' unreasonable
It's just that no one on the board here can really verify one way or the other if there is a real problem. I realize you just want others to say what type of counter they use to see if another program squares with TTs figures or yours.
If it makes you feel any better, I have taken note of your concerns. If I spot a discrepancy I will let you know (after advising TT of course), but frankly - the amount of discrepancy appears to be just a few dollars. It took me a long time to find TT and overall they are a good company, so for 'me' it would not be worth arguing over - especially since they are adamant they are counting fairly...
It seems to me after all this discussion that the would immediately seek out and fix any true deficiency with the counter...
but then what do I know?

There are other forums that might be friendly, but none more honest than this one, and I can tell you when I ask a question, I'd like an honest answer, not a sugar-coated one for fairytale princesses. Must be a skinny person who thinks it's that easy. If it were, trust me, we'd all be thin.
No one wants to be overweight, noone what to contemplate surgery, but I think there is a conscious choice to want to live and will do anything to keep doing that with a decent quality of life. It's not always by choice that people are overweight. All I can think of here is ....empathy.. and I applaud anyone who cares enough about living to do whatever it takes, no matter how drastic. For some, it's their last chance to live so spare us all with the Just diet and exercise speech.

Right now I'm working full-time for one of the Axis of Evil...where, as we know, the recent denied-until-it-happened pay cuts and global equilibration of account levels screwed me, so I'm trying to get out of that hell hole, where the only thing left after VR gets done are the crappiest of the crap. I saw light at the end of the tunnel, and it turns out it was a train coming through to smack me head-on.
So I guess I'll hang onto the 2 jobs I have now, while I continue to look for 1 or maybe 2 that will be more amenable. I don't mind working hard and I don't really even mind the account job #2 has me on (although it has been NWA all week...must have hired some more bodies), but I hate the perceived sneakiness of it while they've got my back against the wall. GRRRR

is their focus does not mean that patients should suffer. 96% accuracy could mean the difference to someone who is on the receiving end of that report. I am NOT QA or management but I am an experienced Transcriptionist who believes that the reports we transcribe need to be accurate for the patient's sake.

I'm sorry it came across that way. I got duped into applying with them by all the rave reviews on the boards, too. Plus, they make no mention of it on their website. I refuse to work for a company that offshores. As for the people who are happy there, more power to them. That's their decision and I'm glad they've got great jobs. I just need something else from a company.

Remember the MTSO/hospital has the ability to change the way lines are counted and not allow you to check your lines...run like the wind from a company who will not allow you to have access to line counts!

that people who get paid weekly no matter what (I suppose that could be management, tech staff, office staff, whatever) do not understand the importance of consistency in line counts for someone paid by the line. Do not stay in the twilight zone too long. GEEEEEEEEEEEESH.

Was that typing on an MT board and performance at work were two different things. You can't get fired for posting a message with bad grammar, spelling or punctuation. However you can get fired for making mistakes in reports on the job.
However everyone including RadMT needs to calm down.

even if you are not scheduled to work that day. TT is the only company I know of that pays 1.5 for lines typed on holidays if you are not scheduled to work.

At the Q, you are limited now as to how many blanks you send in. Does not matter what the reason... discrepancy, audio problems, doesn't matter. Right now it is at 30% but soon are to be down to 20% and then 15%. It doesn't even matter if QA can't even fill it in, it still counts against you!
