Outraged!

Did anybody else notice what I noticed in the newest edition of AAMT's PLEXUS? I counted the number of new MTs gaining CMT status from 11/01/06 to 12/31/06--45 people. Are you ready for this--22 of those names were MTs with addresses in India! Approximately 50% of all new CMTs are not Americans. I believe AAMT has forgotten the acronym stands for AMERICAN Association of Medical Transcriptionists. (Yes, I know they're in the process of changing the name to something more obscure.) All other American professionals with certification or licensing must operate within the city, county, state or country granting their certification or licensure. But AAMT continues to allow anybody in the world to join on a whim. Shameful!

Why are you so outraged? They are SM
obviously no longer using the recruiting agency they've been using for the past few years and doing it directly.
Well I personally am not outraged by the offshoring but the
laying off of all their domestic MTs and QA I am. Offshoring is a fact of life unfortunately and we have to live with that, but we do NOT have to live with ALL our labor force losing their jobs to offshoring and that is absolutely ridiculous.
What's not to understand about that?
Maybe you could further explain what you do not understand.
