Once again, a general blanket statement that is completely false. sm

In Reply to: I think it's that services only get the overflow & the garbage anymore. All the good stuff is kep - inhouse. Sad...nm
Many hospitals and clinics do a 100% complete outsource of one or more departments. The dumping and overflow could very well be at a company level. How do I know? I am a Team Lead at a big company and we do 100% of the work for more than 50 facilities.

That is a completely false statement
I have been with KS for almost 3 years now and they are, by far, the most caring, employee-oriented company I have ever worked for, and I have worked for many MTSOs over the years. If you are dedicated, dependable, and a hard worker, they will bend over backwards for you. I don't know where you got the idea that they only care about productivity. If you have problems, you need to contact one of the HIM managers or HR. They are all very, very nice people. Also, the CEO is one of the most caring people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.
I agree. You have no believability given your blanket statement.
x
or they are growing. What a terrible blanket statement. This is so confusing now. sm
I hear good things about a company and the exact opposite from someone else. Then stay away from another, and a friend of my gets the position and has been there for 4 years. I missed out by listening to others on that one but listened on others about how good they were and now have had 8 jobs in 3-1/2 years. I AM NOT A JOB-HOBBER. I just want to work and be left alone except to get paid.
? That's kind of a blanket statement; things are fine on the accts I work on. sm
Yes, it was slow a couple weeks ago but started picking up last week.
PS - Yes, they pay for spaces.
Completely untrue statement! Medware is a great company.

Could you clarify your BLANKET post please? ...sm
I am not sure what the poster meant, but perhaps they meant that patients' information is ripped off by others in the medical field?
Could you further expound please? Would be greatly appreciated.
Take pic of you sitting at PC with blanket draped

Absolutely false
TSSC has only ever given 5-6 voice files to test. ONE and only 1 of the files is an ESL. You obviously have no clue what you are talkinga bout.
False statements
Amen to that.
Besides stating that your DD is not there, when it is NOT there is not exactly a false statemtn. TT112 needs to get a life
false hope
There was a lot of talk about how much work there was going to be with the new accounts, and evidently it was all just talk. They are still playing the same games they have always played. I wonder how many transcriptionists they actually have to cover all the large amount of lines that supposedly they were going to have? They will eventually run out of transcriptionists to hire who will stay there with no work.
False security...DUH !
The email address isn't what they check; any dummy can use a false name. IP address and computer MAC address is what they check.
No anonymity.
That is totally false
I am an account lead there and have been with the company for 3 years, and I can tell you that is not the case at all.
Absolutely 100% false
That is completely untrue. It's one of the most ridiculous rumors I have ever heard.
Slander is when there are false statements. .
NM
That's an absolutely false accusation.!
Don't know where you got your information but you're totally wrong unless you worked for them and did something which was against their rules...or was fired for something, or could it be because you just come on this board and bash them all the time.
Would you care to expand on your reasoning for your hateful comments?
This post is patently FALSE
They did not keep only a handful of ICs to cover only what India cannot. Why would you spout such stuff without having facts at hand?
Also, CBAY is an American company with a subsidiary also in India (CBAY-India).
Their pay is on par with what most companies are paying. Payment is always on time. They are no longer doing employees, just IC status.
I didn't see any such postings and if there were, they're false
Why don't you use the time and energy that you use posting lies about one of the few REPUTABLE companies left and fix what's wrong with the company you're working for. I smell jealous management.
Go spread your lies somewhere else. This is utterly false. sm
There are three people who do the training, and it is very thorough. How would you know anything about the owner? First of all, it is they not she. Secondly, I have worked at KS for 3 years and have never had any contact with either of them.
I am training to be a lead transcriptionist, so I have talked to a lot of managers, other leads and transcriptionists. All are very busy, and the accounts are not overstaffed. Every one of the more than 20 people I have been in contact with are very happy.
There have been no accounts lost in the past several years. If you were really an employee, you would know that no one has pulled an account and that there are new accounts constantly.
Broken promises? Very vague, don't you think? The employee book spells everything out. There are no secrets.
Either they let you go for one reason or another and your are bitter or you were never hired.
I think that Keystrokes is the most improved company I have ever seen discussed here or on other boards. They did have problems when they started but those are in the past. Current employees are either happy or being worked with to make them happy.
I am looking forward to being a lead and to staying with Keystrokes as long as they will have me.
I think it's just the fact that she is posting under a false title

Transcend false recruiting/low work
I was hired two weeks ago to do Cardiology, but hardly any Cardiology. I am stuck voice-editing the leftover clinic notes!! Potential Transcend employees, beware!! Recruiters will say anything to snare you.
So far as I know making false statements is illegal
See possible answer post..............now I'm going to work so I will have a paycheck to be deposited.
If illegal to make false statements, everyone would
x
The only thing wrong with this is that the claims are false. sm
I have been with KS for 3 years. I am treated fairly. I was also the lead for the person who is named as the person putting in the lawsuit. That person was fired for quality issues and is obviously trying to get even with the company.
Lawsuits can be filed. Filing one or having one out there does not mean that the company is guilty. If that was the case, there would be no reason for a case to be filed; you could basically just send a company a bill for whatever you want.
Overhiring and giving new-hires false impressions that
they'll be able to make a decent day's pay is scamming too, cupcake.
False or incomplete information is what hurts this industry the most. sm
Keystrokes is hiring and has many openings. The ER account I am on needs 2 or 3 more people, the B4 account my SIL is on is short-handed and they are hiring like crazy because of new accounts.
If you do not have enough work, contact your manager or go above her/his head. There is plenty of work there.
I also know for a fact that they are hiring for orthopedics due to a large new account because they sent an email asking if anyone knew anyone who was looking for full-time ortho work.
They do not overhire. Quite the opposite, actually. We are always asked to work extra. I know they are looking to balance this out but will not hurt current employees by overhiring.
It may be harsh, but it is true. Too many people come into transcription with false sm
expectations. They expect to get paid to stay home, watch their kids, work when they want, make a fortune after 6 months of correspondence courses.
It takes more than that to be a good MT and a heck of a lot more than that to be a great MT.
With this economy, it would pay to fine-tune skills, work on typing speed, learn new specialties. The best will survive and I intend to stay one of the best.
Not everyone is good at everything.
Men, in general, do that a lot....not just....NM
In General
I for one, also feel that there has been enough said about a certain companies on this board -- I work for a small service (probably less than 100 employees) and am treated fairly -- my second paycheck was late, but only due to a goof at the end of the major hospital and the invoice -- I was with a company where I was paid every two weeks like clockwork, but occasional gitches happen -- and you have to plan for those things. The subject though with this one company has become way too rendundant and I for one feel it's time to move onward and upward.
It is general transcription
Very hard work transcribing a bunch of people talking at once.
As a general rule....
75% is a pretty heavy figure on terms of ESL. That sounds like an account no one else wants to do.
What general area
The 3 big ones in my area have most of their MTs at home with full benefits and incentive plans. Most of their systems require high speed and some have a mileage limit for repairs, etc. Start calling all the local hospitals within 100 mile radius of you and see if they have MTs working from home. Most require a short period of in-house training but if you're experienced they usually send you home in a week.
just using general examples here...
not really talking specifics. and if you are making 10 cpl, you'd better rejoice and count your lucky stars. I was making that 5 years ago before I went with a big MTSO for health insurance, when they dropped us back to where I was making less than minimum wage, I quit. I'm now making 8 cpl...and I have 16 years of exp! I'm just saying, a rate of 6 cpl is a JOKE...you set your own standards, but we have to JUST SAY NO to the low wages they try to offer us now.
Well the questions are also so general
I think if people thought before they posted for example which platform, flexibility, etc.
As soon as someone puts that they had a bad experience, they are told that's not true, etc. etc. It's a neverending thing on this company board.
If someone says they have had a good experience, then everyone starts applying and the company overhires and then everyone is mad about that.
It makes no sense to me.
Letting someone know they are able to search the archives is not rude at all. It's a matter of using the correct string of characters and spending the time to do it though.
offshoring in general
I also think a lot of the services have sold their clients a bill of goods, convincing them that Turn Around Time is the big issue. This way they can justify sending the work out of the country to be done overnight, thus a bigger profit for them, and at the same time the clients buy into it because there is not enough quality control on their end to actually check what is coming back. I have seen a trend though in my area to bring back more in-house staff because of quality issues with outsourcing.
As a general idea,
people usually say you need about 2 cpl more to make up for paying your own SS, the employer not paying half of your health insurance, no sick days, no vacation days, no holidays, no short or long term disability, no unemployment, no dental, paying an accountant to help with your taxes, etc.... In my opinion, that stuff is actually worth more than 2 cpl, but that at least gives you an idea of what to aim for.
My comment is about posters in general.
I've never worked for KS and know nothing about them.
Nothing on this board tells me anything about them either. That is my point.
What is on this board is completely anonymous and we have no way to know who is actually posting and if there is any truth to it.
TransHealth - General question please
Can you tell me how work is picked up? Do you load a certain amount at once, or is it a pickup one job at a time situation? Also, how is the platform to use? Do you have to work weekends, or is that optional? Thinking of applying there. TIA.
In general, has VR been successful for most companies? Thanks. nm

Try the Attorney General's Office...
for your State. Worked for me and I was an IC. Got my last check. Good luck.
I did not mean that is what they are doing. I was just making a comment in general. sm
I used to waitress, and you did not get the best stations or the best shifts until you moved up. My brother is an ER doctor. He was on midnights for years until there was an opening on days. His wife is a new nurse and always has to work every holiday and off-shift that there is as she has no seniority. My DH is a machinist. Whenever he switched jobs in the past, he was put on 3rd shift until someone left or was fired on 2nd and then 1st shift.
I just figured that MT would be the same. When I started at the hospital I am at, I got stuck with every weekend and holiday and evening for the first year. I just accepted it as the way things should be done. Why would services be any different? You should make someone new feel welcome, but the long-standing employees would resent it if newly hired employees get the best accounts and the best doctors. Kind of like paying your dues and proving that you are a good employee before they put you in the best positions.
In general, small companies
I just left one of the big companies because I won't do ASR because of the decreased pay. Smaller companies are usually straight transcription only, and I am now with one of those. There are quite a few out there.
escription is a general issue
If you look on the website for escription you will see a style guide that has a lot of nit picky format rules. It requires a lot of remembering little format things that we wouldn't normally do. They really should have someone to edit and someone else to make the format changes. it really is cumbersome and you can't make any money.
Transcription companies in general
AMEN SISTER! couldn't have said it better
Regarding SS statement.....sm
This happened to me but I was actually working in the hospital. On a SS statement, they had me down for 0 dollars for a year...and this was 15 years ago. Since the hospital had merged and those records are nowhere to be found, I simply took my W2 down to the local SS Administrative offices and told them...they wanted to contact this employer but I told them good look, they no longer exist..and that if the fed gov took my W2, they certainly should...so they did and corrected it. Take your W2 down there pronto and get it straightened out for yourself.
As far as your 401K, you should have been receiving quarterly statements from the company responsible for handling your 401K. Medware has a private company handling this...so do you have your statements? You should contact that company and ask them what's going on.
statement
Also, regarding this statement I will not work for a competitor for the next 12 months--basically stating that I will not begin to work for any company in the MT business and that I will not try to start my own business. Most companies need to give you an area (ex so many miles) that you would not work in. So try and get a definition of that statement as well.
I do not get your last statement..
what do you mean do not over committ, be conservative, but they appreciate when you go over your lines? Thanks!
Yes, I think in your last statement
Do not sign a contract that has you comply to a certain amount of lines because that is employee status. I'm very flattered that you took the time to answer and copy and past, etc., but I am just stating my opinion and how IC should work if you are truly an IC. A company cannot dictate hours, number of lines, minutes, set schedules, or anything of the such. The only agreement signed is usually the fact that you will be contracting for that particular company and not try to take their accounts and also go along with the privacy act for patients. I have never seen a contract for an IC that states you MUST do a certain amount of lines in a certain timeframe. If there is a contract that states these terms, then you are considered an employee according to IRS guidelines because that is considered control.
What I was saying was her statement of a 30-day (sm)
waiting period for payment with Proveros was incorrect. So I stated the real truth, which, however one views it, could be good, bad or indifferent.
Your statement is probably the most
idiotic one that I have heard in a long, long time. There is no one that could just spell check and make corrections there. I can tell you probably hate the idea of going on VR although seem to be headed that way because your post is so off the wall. Your behind would be out the door in no time if trying to send in work like you state. I am laughing at you and anyone else should who reads your ridiculous posting.
What is the general opinion about the packet? Good or Bad
Did receive mine yet?
