Secondary account
When I first started, I was put on a GREAT ER account that I love, but since it is only ER reports, they wanted to give me a secondary account in case the workload ever gets low on that account. I didn't even have to ask for a backup account. They gave it to me a day or two after I started because they didn't want me to ever run out of work. I got a HUGE hospital account as a backup and never run out of work. They are bot on the ExText platform and I love them both.

I do not work my secondary if it is also low (sm)
which it has been. I know we're told to work secondary if primary is low, but I don't think it's right for me to take away from somebody else's primary account if it's scraping the bottom of the barrel too. I guess that's why I'm spending 12 hours at my computer a day to get my line count.
A few years ago my secondary went to another company and (sm)
evidently some of the office people as well, they in turn gave the new company the names and phone numbers of us who had worked the account and the new company actually called many of us to solicit us as employees. I felt it would have been okay for me to switch, since I had had no control over the account coming or going, but I didn't feel it was right for some of the higher ups to be involved in soliciting us for the new company. If anyone was in the wrong, they were. They shouldn't have shared records and personnel information like that from one company to the other IMO.

I have also repeatedly asked for a secondary account. I am told each time, we will get you trained on one of these new accounts when they come aboard. Well, the new account comes on board, my account gets some work and I never get trained! Also, my supe loves to posts OT for my primary all the time, and seems soo shocked when the end of the week comes and our account is totally out of work!! DUH!! Do not post OT soo soon or for so long! I have given this company a try for now 9 months. I'm getting sick of this crap!

Webmedx secondary accounts
If you take on a secondary account, do you bounce back and forth between your primary and secondary based on turn-around times, or do you get work from your secondary only if there's no work on your primary? I'm pretty sure it's the former, but just want to be sure. TIA.

stat every blessed report they do, so I always get those immediately. It is TAT, but your STM can explain it in more detail.
I have been trying to be patient but have been working on my secondary account so much lately, I am
starting to think it's my primary. Been in the business a long time and understand slow times, but this has been a chronic problem for many months, so I understand poster's point of view. Stick it out if you can, if not, there are lots of other companies out there, but remember, the grass is always greener on the other side and you may be sorry you jumped ship. Hopefully you can find somewhere that will make you happy and feel appreciated.

My secondary account has been slow for weeks
but they gave me another account, so I'm good. My primary account has also been pretty busy these past few weeks. I guess this is just a slow time of year.

Have a main and secondary and almost always have work, but.. sometimes after OT has been offered (like this morning) I have nada. Think I need to be assigned a third account or be put on as a helper somewhere. I suppose I ask my team manager, are we allowed to request an account that looks busy, must it be an account in her Book of Business like with MQ. Any info before I make the call would be appreciated.

I have 5 accounts with Webmedx. I am always running out of work on the weekends because like you said they call for OT and then there is nothing left for us who do work the weekends to type while everyone else is getting more money for OT. Not very fair. Like the other MT said beware of what you wish for. different accounts with different account specifics is sometimes more trouble than it is worth. Haven't had a full paycheck for quite awhile.
Holy Cow -- all 3 of my accounts have work. One even OT. The secondary (sm)
one had been particularly low for weeks now and today there is a massive quantity. I wonder if maybe that hospital was trying out another service and just sending us a small amount. Whatever the reason, the work, at least for now has picked up greatly.
We are having KFC for supper so I can get in there and get a few of those OT lines while they last.
Hope everyone else is having good luck with their accounts also.

I know when I hired on I was excited I could get days so easily, maybe we are just too many on one shift.
I agree, we need our own board where we can chat without being chastised for monopolizing the board.
I think the next time I run out I am switching to my part time job and trying to get back in here this evening.

I didn't think you were management or brown-nosing, nor did I see anything wrong with your post. I don't think it is old biddies, I think they are extremely young or at least they seem immature to me. They are like little gremlins or something. The very second they see anything positive said or someone asks a question, it seems to irritate them and they crawl out. Couldn't tell you why, but don't worry about it. Everyone that reads these forums are not that way. Hope you and yours have a wonderful Christmas and I for one am glad to see someone happy with their company.

Have I no shame, you may ask, and rightfully so. If I were truly of sound mind, that would be a very fair question. Unfortunately, as I have detailed below, that is, sadly, not the case.
There is hope, however! You see, as I was about to fling myself into The Hillbilly Acres Memorial Septic Tank, I was amazingly stopped by the engineer who was, AT THAT VERY MOMENT, servicing said septic tank. Can we all talk about timing??!! This kind man informed me that he was looking for an assistant and I was OBVIOUSLY PERFECT FOR THAT JOB! Of course, I was forced to perform a few acts that were rather displeasing to my various personas (hey, haven't we all been in this position at one or another time in our lives!) to acquire said Asst Septic Tank Engineer job but it is going to be worth it, I know! Soon I will have money for health insurance and MEDICATION and will never darken your MT doorsteps ever, EVER AGAIN. I PROMISE!
Now, until then, please, PLEASE, I BEG YOU, IGNORE ANY FURTHER POSTINGS FROM US/ME/IT/WE/ETC.

and use common sense. If it is obviously a woman, ADT screen if you are on DocQScribe will tell you that. The doctors have these degrees but they are not perfect. Nobody is. I have a doctor who does not even know how to count, 1, 2 4, 8, 7, ??? Now I do not type this.
We are smarter than the docs sometime and just forget about verbatim in those situations.
They do not even know how to spell many meds either but you can't go verbatim here either.
You will give good patient care by typing what is right and ignoring the doc.

This report was from a couple days ago, so I don't think things have changed. The format is totally 100% wrong in nearly all fields. The thing is, they let these new MTs off QA in a matter of days. I understand there were many new MTs to check, but I don't understand how something like this got through, especially when one of my reports was reviewed and though there were no errors, I was told to use of between CO2 and the number to avoid confusion. Seems a bit picky when you have something like this report going to the facility. There was no additional sign off on this report and this particular doctor is a very, very good dictator, though uses many uncommon terms that need to be looked up. I don't know, I guess I will hold off a bit for now.

Emails are usually ignored. As for IM, usually ignored also except for 1 person, who is good at answering but she's lower down the pole and isn't the contact person for some of the stuff. She's the only good one there.
How about you just don't handle it and ignore it.

As with any company, when something new comes up there are quite a few posts about it, this happens to be a large company and has a lot of employees.
Just scan through the headings, you don't have to open each one. I bet it will only take a few minutes to do.

We were told very specifically to type word for word. We can send things to QA if we question them. Also have one doctor who specifies all his numbers be left out of order because he has some nutty system in his charts that he likes to use. What you do cannot be applied across the board, much as we all might like to do it!

I know new MTs who have worked very hard and actually became certified through AAMT with only having about the same amount of work experience as you.
I say stick it out with Transcend, but it doesn't hurt to do your interview with Spheris either.

Ignore it. If they are just basically e-mailing
do not feel compelled to answer an e-mail that has other MT names in it. If it is directed right at you, then answer when you get the chance. Don't feel nailed to the computer.
Now if they are using IM, that is a different story. Instant messenger is control in my honest opinion and as an IC should not be part of the deal.
If you know your accounts in and out you may want to stay and just ignore some of the e-mails that get you hot and bothered.
I also am an IC for an online company that does mass e-mails when there is work to be done, but it is not directed right at me but to all MTs on that particular account. I do not feel the need to answer each and every e-mail unless I am the only addressee. Of course, you may not know if they are blind copying, but just my opinion.

wonder what HER quality is like on VR? I have seen some of the VR coming back and it is awful. Mistakes corrected by more mistakes! You aren't going to get anything better because you have inexperienced folks doing VR because that is all they can do.
