I don't think it's too much to ask of a recruiter to keep an appointment that HAS BEEN SCHEDULED to accommodate his/her schedule. I've never known a recruiter to bend over backwards or even sideways to fit my schedule; it's always me bending over to fit theirs, and then they often are a no call, no show...
