If we're a dime a dozen, companies like OSi are certainly a dime a dozen...sm
Easy come, easy go. I quit OSi and had 4 jobs within 3 weeks. Just had to choose. Rest assured, if the company I'm with now tries any of the ridiculous crap OSi pulled, on the road again I will be!
If I had the money for an attorney, I too would be filing a law suit, rest assured! This company gives Douglasville, Georgia a bad name and really should go to hicksville Carrollton where it belongs!
These MTSOs are a dime a dozen....
I don't think it should be the other way around. I'd say this company is not worth the time. JMO.
I'd move on - they are a dime a dozen
People just love to sit around and just take it, take it, and take it. You'd better find some other clients. You are an IC MT right? Get out there and find another MTSO or clients on your own. I wouldn't take that from no one.
Its a thing of the past. Employees are a dime a dozen now, and
you are treated like dirt. The more layers of management that are added, the worse it gets, especially in this business, because they put these little control freaks with no experience other than raising a few kids in charge of things and they only know how to rule by holding a whip.
Not a single DIME. We work for them, they're -
And $300 for a license fee? How do you spell S-C-A-M? My current company uploaded the necessary software from their computers to mine for FREE.
If that charge wasn't in the contract, talk to an attorney about it. I'd be willing to bet that what they did isn't legal.
Gad - they already gyp us in pay, and now they're 'double-dipping' by gypping us when we sign up? Absolutely incredible.
I guess if you're suited to
work on a less than adequate platform and like to run out of work all the time Chronicle is a good match for someone.
LET'S GUESS, YOU'RE 2ND SHIFT..RIGHT?--nm
Umm - let me guess - you're NOT the only source

Yeah, I guess you're right sm
I shouldn't have used the 'sweat shop' analogy. It's just that the last company I worked for were notorious for 'line skimming.' There was that and now this. It just seems like how low can it go. I've been ouf of the industry for two years. I guess most of you have had a chance to digest these changes.
You're right though - ANY work is better than NO work at all. I guess that's the price we pay to work at home typing medical records.
What's a girl gotta do to earn an honest pay for an honest living, these days! :)
Hehe.. you're right. And I guess in some cases
Except maybe 'screwed' or 'raped' might be a better description.
Sorry - I guess we're getting to be like the Indians - we don't understand what we read
or type.
Sorry. You're right. I guess I should have read that message more closely.
Not enough work and covering a dozen accounts

I'm not that poster. Unreal. She has explained herself half a dozen times by now.
It seems not.
Dime?
What do you mean, what do they ask for money for?
I wasn't paid a dime to say that...
I wasn't paid a cent to say that. That is my own honest opinion/experience. I have an excellent supervisor who is extremely friendly and helpful. I never run out of work and I have never had to change accounts the entire year that I have been there. Their software is the best that I have ever worked with and I love it. My pay is always direct deposited on time and I have never had any problems. Even if they do outsource, I really don't care. It doesn't affect my job with them and it never has. I have plenty of work, get paid and an treated nicely. That's all I care about.
If TTS owes you a single dime do what I just did
Report TTS to wage/hour. It is time to put a stop to the tactics of this woman and her dumb as a post lackey.
'Buddy, can you spare a dime?' sm
Don't you mean, 'Buddy, can you spare 0.0975 cents?'
JK!
If I had a dime for every CMT that I fired for quality issues.....
I'd have bought myself a few meals by now. Being a CMT doesn't mean you're a good transcriptionist. It just means you took the test and passed it. Over the years I've seen the majority of the better MTs were those that didn't have the CMT designation behind their name.
I just had 2 meds filled and never paid a dime.

Hope you're enjoying those slave wages you're earning.

So you guys feel you're getting paid what you're worth with VR?
I'm not trying to be snarky. I've never done VR, so I'm trying to understand.
You're happy with your paycheck with VR? Do you find the files to be as bad as the original post implied?
So you're telling me, basically, they're bad news?
They offered me 0.095/line and you know - it sounded too good to be true, but I SWEAR the recruiter told me they do not outsource. Oh brother... I just wish they'd be honest. I really don't know what to do.
Not the OP, but they're supposed to take out all the other taxes as you're an employee with th
s
No, they're not losing money....they're gaining!
If a company charges their clients by the line, I'm sure that line rate does not go down even though the MTs pay does.
ASR pays about 2/3 normal line rate to its MTs. Their ultimate goal is to have the MTs do twice as much work. Therefore, the client is getting their work faster, but paying their normal rate, while corporate gets that money and the MTs get the lower line rate.
Whether the newbies want to realize it or not, MTSOs have not increased MTs' salaries in the past 10 years. They still start out at the same pay as the last century!
This used to be a very lucrative profession. Nowadays, most MTs are considered to be paid at the poverty level. You don't believe me, look it up!
Hey, you're in luck then. They're hiring! (nm)

If they're in Nebraska, they're www.medigrafix.com nm

If you're an IC, you pay all your taxes. Otherwise you're an SE or employee. nm

If you're PT you're required to work
8 of your hours in one weekend day. There's no extra pay for it though.

We're not 'so scared' of it. We're trying to help
you to not make a huge mistake, but I guess you're determined to learn the hard way, so good luck with that.
If you're in the 37% tax bracket, you're making over
100K per year. Quit complaining.
You're right on it! They're just trying to cause panic.

How can you KNOW what you're doing without THINKING you know what you're doing?

they're desperate because they're sm
driving away all their employees with the horrible new changes they're implementing. It's a mass exodus, and they couldn't keep up with their work load before all the departures.
We're glad you're gone too.
The more people that quit, the more work left for me. I love it when people say they can't take doing MT anymore.
Well, i hate to tell ya, but if you're an IC, you're

Guess you are not doing your job right then.....

My guess...
I may be wrong but my guess is that this is CorT. I have been with them only 4 months but I have many MT sisters who have been with them longer and love it.
I guess Everyone Else....
Since no responses, I guess I am the only MT who works for a national that charges for templates but doesn't tell you upfront or put it in a contract....oh well....time for another company!!!
I guess when you look at it that way...

I guess it was just me...
but it came off as sounding like the stereotype of slaves on the "plantation" - it just didn't sit right with me...
You are in the know, but guess what
SO AM I. Spaces my XXX. Maybe you but not all of us for sure. Pay on time. Come on, talk about not telling the truth. Last couple of times maybe, but until everyone started screaming on here came whenever.
Guess what... sm
I am not management and they are a wonderful company. I have heard and read bad things yet I have worked there for quite some time and I have never seen any of what you say. They are nice people and they would not fire someone for being sick or family emergency. There has to be more to that story. TH rocks!
Of course I don't guess!!!!!!!!!!!
No, there's no guessing medical transcription. These dictators are clear as a bell!! A wonderful company to work for.
I guess everyone has a different
I'm with DK and have never been happier. I have no trouble doing over 1800 lines in an 8 hour shift on the CTS platform. I will say though that I work on mainly one account (that helps some).
Did they just guess?
nm
I guess both.

guess that's right
I went back to the policies at the top of the page and didn't see anything about naming names, but I'm pretty sure the moderator has asked us not to do this and yes, I was referring to her name, not yours. I guess we're certainly free to use our own, but am pretty sure that at one time we were told not to mention names. Guess I was wrong or it was changed. Thanks.
my guess is because not enough MTs take this job serious enough.
Let's put it this way, every time I turn around I hear MTs saying they want to be there for their kids (nothing wrong with that) but when I was raising my kids, I worked outside the home and if they had a play at school I could not get off to go. The MTs of today want to do it all with their kids and think they can work but the fact is in the real world they would not be able to do that and that is not the real way to treat this job SO COMPANIES HAVE TO COVER THEIR TUSH. There are always going to be those who treat this like a real job but from what I am seeing the majority of the MTs nowadays who are younger just want to work the job in around their life and that just cannot be done and have a company be successful SO companies have to overhire to cover themselves. If they had people who treated this more like a real job, all that overhiring would not be necessary. All of us MTs who take our job seriously have suffered because of this new attitude.
