I had the same experience. Horrible account, nonexistent communication. What's wrong with these

I know what you say is true in some cases BUT s/m
if I read correctly, they told her she needed to work on her typing skills.  This would lead me to believe it was a timed test or something.  If she needed to work on her grammar or spelling skills or whatever, they should have told her that.  I would bet she is a very good MT.  It seems to me that a lot of companies purposely try to break the spirits of MTs, making them think they are not worth crapola and, thus, not entitled to decent pay.  As a recruiter, I hope when you fail an MT you give her a copy of the report so that she can see what the problem was.  None of us like criticism but constructive criticism is always a good thing, especially if it comes to flunking someone on a test.
You got lucky. In many cases, the VR
is so bad and/or the dictators are so bad that it takes much more time to correct than it would to just type it. And having one good hour out of eight doesn't necessarily average out better either. VR is a cut in pay for me & more time-consuming.
No way. It takes just as much time in many cases
to do VR as to do straight transcription, so that would be about 1/3 of regular pay for the same amount of work/time. THAT'S RIDICULOUS! We have to stand up to these companies. I wonder how many charge the client the same amount but just cheat the MT?
Hehe.. you're right. And I guess in some cases
Except maybe 'screwed' or 'raped' might be a better description.
That is not true is all cases. I charge .135 cpl to my clients and with my overhead, I can only

I've worked with more than my share of head-cases too,
