No coordinator would come out and say that. Very, very unbelievable statement. I've worked on VA in the past...still do when there is a backlog and incentive. I, too, can do 1500-1700 lines in a day if I'm focused and stick with it. I do find it a little slower going than some of the accounts I do on a regular basis now, but if I put in a full day on those, I can do 2200 lines. If you are a decent MT, you should be able to do 1200 lines a day on any account that you are on.
