The minimum is 5500 per week, NOT 6600 per week. I think you made a typo. :)
NM
Full time with Transtech is both. 40 hours per week and 5500 lines per week.
x
150 lph x7-8 hrs or 5500 lines a week for 35 hr min.

Bare minimum? I make over $50,000 a year in 40 hours a week. That is not bare minimum. sm
Bare minimum would be $8 an hour which is $16,640 a year or $10 an hour which is $20,800 a year. I make more than twice that and that is NOT bare minimum.
I worked to get my typing speed to 80 wpm. I worked to get my Expanders user-friendly and plentiful. I am not the fastest because I look up what I do not know, but I am lucky to have a very good memory so if I type it a few times, I do not have to look it up. I keep notes when I run across something I do not know. I am interested in my profession and read the magazines for our profession and network with other transcriptionists during my free time, devoting a minimum of 2 hours per week to networking and learning new things.
I am not the fastest MT, but I am accurate and boiled it down to simple math. I need to transcribe 250 lines per hour for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. At 10cpl, that is 2000 lines a day x 5 days per week x 50 weeks per year. I take 2 weeks off per year during July to visit my grandchildren (unpaid), 1 week a year to vacation with my husband (paid) and 1 week a year to spring clean (paid). I have worked for the same company for 4 years and 8 years for the one before this.
I treat my work hours as work hours and take 1/2 hour for lunch which I do not include in my 8 hours. I pretend that I am working outside the home and do not answer the door, get the mail, do laundry, etc. If I have a good day and go over the 2000, I bank it in my mind for days that are not as good and make sure that I get 10,000 lines each week.
My W2 each year is consistently $50,000. A few years it was higher, but I worked a few weekends, which I no longer do.
It IS possible.
minimum 5000/week
I do 6000, about 1200 per day.
Not really...Minimum of 35 hours per week plus SM
more hours if they need you to work which means no part time.
PT has to be 24 hours a week at 100 LPH minimum.
nm
Minimum line count is 3500/week

Employee MTs with no minimum line counts per week
I was wondering if there are any companies that hire a MT as an employee rather than an IC without a minimum line count per week? I know as an employee you will be required to have a schedule, but I am interested in knowing if anyone works as a employee and does not need to meet a minimum line count per week? Please let me know. Thanks for your help in advance.
I used to work for them part-time -- I think 20 hours/week is the minimum. nm
nm
Told minimum PT was 3500 lines a week; requires 2 weekend days a month nm
xx
That is MTSO PR b.s. A raise is a raise in line rate. A bonus or incentive is just that. NOT sm
a raise.
Asking for a raise isn't going to do it. There is a policy for raise increases.
nm
Spheris now has 5500 to 6000 as of last
ss
5500-6000 month
40 hr wk, large teaching hospital.
Sorry - yep 1100 per day or 5500 per pay period
nm
oh no, what is the quota for the day? Please let
us know if it was a mistake, thanks.
QA quota
When I worked at Amphion, we were expected to do 100 reports per 8-hour shift. Most often I did at least 80 which could be a stretch depending on what else was going on so I understand your concern.
OTI gives you a weekly quota. sm
You work when you want during the week. They ask you to commit to one weekend day.
Furthermore, I was on only one account, and worked that same account every day. The work was plentiful. Since I wasn't hopping around on various accounts, I customized everything and made a zillion macros. It was very good for money.
It was the best job I ever worked. I had to leave because I needed benefits.
DSG - QA, line quota, how they pay Qs
Questions for DSG QA folks. Do they pay per hour or by line? I heard someone say by the line, but then someone else say they had to give feedback. I have never worked for someplace that paid you by the line AND expected you to give feedback also. If it is by the line, do they have a daily quota?
Thanks
cannot make quota
Has anybody out there ever used all accessible shortcuts, typed steadily, and seen after a grueling 8, 9, 10 hours lines equalling approx 77 per hour? I refuse to think myself as doing something wrong: Just want to hear from ANYBODY who has done what s/he can, yet finds him/herself always unable to meet productivity. I am at a crossroads right now so it is a good time to leave transcription, but I cannot believe my forays into at-home land yield the same results: exhaustion, impossible quotas, and the sneaking suspicion that the nearly-industry-wide policy of not paying for headers is cruel, immoral, and unethical--CONSIDERABLE quality time is spent on getting this info right, and what automatically populates must often be, umm, massaged by our exhausted fingers. I would love to hear any comments from anybody about how they met productivity. I would need to increase by almost 100% in order to barely tread water: I cannot do it. Just wondering how all you VERY hard-working people survive. Wish there were an emoticon for throwing in the towel.
can't make quota
I can't make mine, either. A 15-16 minute dication will only yield me about 100 lines. I'm fed up, but scared to death to leave this field and embark on a new career at my age.
Yes I cannot meet my quota
Hope we pick up soon
QA is not a step up. They make less than the MTs and are on quota.
x
Most companies require a certain quota be met
Even as an IC I committed myself to 180 reports a day. I do anywhere from 180-225. I did not sign a contract but did commit to it.
I too made quota immediately
!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for your help, but I don't think I could ever meet the quota needed. sm
I am working all the time editing/fixing and trying to remember all the rules for each account. I do not see with the way the platform is ever being able to make the amount needed to keep my insurance, and they have already extended my insurance for me before. I thought when I started doing more editing I might be able to get more lines, but then I would have to do double the lines, and with the way the reports are looking when I see them there is too much fixing to ever get there. It looks like when the computer does not know what the doctor is saying in plain English it just types whatever it wants. It is actually amusing how it comes up with a whole sentence of unrelated words.
THANKS! Now as soon as I make my line quota
and can afford something other than thrift stores or Walmart I WILL check them out. LOL
Seriously, thanks for the link. I will keep it.
Are they giving you grief over not making quota?
x
I work at a hospital and we have a quota of 15 per hour which is 120 per day. nm

SIGNING CONTRACT REPORT QUOTA?
ANYONE SIGN A CONTRACT FOR REQUIRED REPORTS COMPLETED IN A DAY FOR FT? WORRIED I AM BITING OFF MORE THAN I CAN CHEW!
The problem now is that I have a QUOTA and that is what they're concerned about. nm
,,
You will not lose benefits for one time missing quota.
Call your ROM or TL, and they will point you in the right direction. I think you have a full three months to make up your quota.
Transcend is a wonderful company. E-mail me if you want further information.
MDI-MD hires part-time, and you have a 24-hour window to do your quota. nm
x
Considering some companies do give a weekly quota, maybe you shouldn't speak

I love my job but I think I lost my insurance benefits. Has anyone else not met the pay period quota
one time and had their insurance taken away? I think it happened to me. I fell short this payperiod on my time ($90) as I was ill for a couple of days and had no PTO time to use. Now, my insurance premiums were not taken out so I am afraid they canceled my insurance, which was the largest reason I have stayed. I needed the good insurance etc..not to mention that I just like working there and my supervisors. I did make more than enough for them to have taken out the premiums so I feel like this was just an excuse to cancel it. Now, if I have to wait another 120 days to qualify again, I will have to end up quitting and that is not a great feeling, but I know I can get a job somewhere else and not have to wait so long to have insurance again. I'm just sickened. I can't believe they would do this in one pay period. I work 7 days a week usually, all hours of the day and night and I just can't grasp they would do this. I have worked there over 2 years. So, do they really do this, for anyone who has had this happen before. Maybe, they are just suspending the insurance this pay period but I don't see how they can stop it one pay period and start it back in 2 weeks on the next pay period. Anyway, stressed out!!!
Nope .. email on 1/18 promised "within the next week." Here we are, 1 week later and no info.

i clear over 800 a week, 40/week; 30+ year experience. (nm)

I get my paycheck every week - that is enough for me! Happy MT week everybody! nm
x
I got laid off for MT Week. Happy MT Week to me!
x
Good last week - Slow this week.
I hope this is not an indication of things to come. I am getting 1,200 lines a day but it is taking me all day to do it. We seem to be out of work from 9-12 every day this week. Hope things pick up after Labor Day.
Minimum....
I was told the minimum for FT was 1000 and PT was 700.
Do you think they would have a minimum?
Why would companies state a minimum line requirement if they didn't expect MTs to reach it?
I think she is just trying to set a minimum. If anyone
was unwilling to work for 8 cpl, they could always try to negotiate a higher wage with individual employers. I think trying to get everyone to not take less than say 8 cpl is a very good idea. Personally, I would not take 8 either. I am currently getting 9, so it would be a decrease for me, but I believe she is trying to start a movement to get these 6 and 7 cpl wages to disappear. She is on the right track.
How do you get a raise with MQ?
So, how do you get raises without asking? Yearly? I did not get a raise since 1998 and asked two years ago. I got less than a fourth of a penny more per line. I dont like DQS. We dont get paid for the demographics screen, yet most of my doctors do not fill the screen in or they put in the wrong MR#. So I can spend up to three minutes each report trying to decipher what name the doctor is stating or spelling and then search for the name. If you figure three minutes per report, 40 or so reports a day. That is money I deserve but am not getting. For pete sake, we dont get paid for downtime researching words, lab results, medications, the least they can do is pay for the demographics screen.
MQ raise
Dittos, have been with MQ 9 years and no raise. After DQS, line count fell dramatically, so no more quarterly bonuses. They are a bunch of scoundrels that are taking advantage of their employees.
RE: How do you get a raise with MQ?
Everything your complain about in your post is a part of your job. You are supposed to verify, transcribe a report accurately. That should include the patient's name, medications, laboratory values, etc. Have you ever read the job description of a transcriptionist?
You must be one of those that got a raise or
got a decent account with a team leader that is available. This company offers no way of advancing into any kind of management, no way to change accounts, nasty teamleaders, no raises, no communication, and just gives a lot of hot air promises that never happen. The biggest change since Transcend took over is that there are no more bonuses which was the best part of the company.
What should I do about a raise?
I have been working for Spheris for a year and started at 5.5 cpl and after 6 months went to Level-1 only making 6.5 cpl. I am still having to work crazy hours to make decent pay. Has anyone from Spheris ever asked for a raise and actually received one without jumping through hoops and switching accounts. The only way to get an extra cent raise is to be trained on 2 different accounts until they are learned and then get an extra cent. Has anyone ever just asked for a raise?? I would like to make 8 cpl preferably, but would be happy with the 1 cnt raise. I have a feeling they won't do that.
I tested for Transcend Services and passed their testing and was only offered 7 cpl to start which is only a 0.5 difference. So, of course I turned that down. Anyone have any advice?
When, if ever, should a MT ask for a raise?
Been with the company for almost a year. I have acquired three private accounts through them. When should I ask, if ever, for a raise? Wait until the one year mark? If so, what is the best way of going about it? Has anyone ever gotten a raise from their company? I am an MT with over 14+ years experience, get paid decent, but absolutely NO BENEFITS...tia
raise
I haven't had one either and its been 8 years and a large company. I'm sure they have perks
