I have also repeatedly asked for a secondary account. I am told each time, we will get you trained on one of these new accounts when they come aboard. Well, the new account comes on board, my account gets some work and I never get trained! Also, my supe loves to posts OT for my primary all the time, and seems soo shocked when the end of the week comes and our account is totally out of work!! DUH!! Do not post OT soo soon or for so long! I have given this company a try for now 9 months. I'm getting sick of this crap!

Secondary account
When I first started, I was put on a GREAT ER account that I love, but since it is only ER reports, they wanted to give me a secondary account in case the workload ever gets low on that account. I didn't even have to ask for a backup account. They gave it to me a day or two after I started because they didn't want me to ever run out of work. I got a HUGE hospital account as a backup and never run out of work. They are bot on the ExText platform and I love them both.

I do not work my secondary if it is also low (sm)
which it has been. I know we're told to work secondary if primary is low, but I don't think it's right for me to take away from somebody else's primary account if it's scraping the bottom of the barrel too. I guess that's why I'm spending 12 hours at my computer a day to get my line count.
A few years ago my secondary went to another company and (sm)
evidently some of the office people as well, they in turn gave the new company the names and phone numbers of us who had worked the account and the new company actually called many of us to solicit us as employees. I felt it would have been okay for me to switch, since I had had no control over the account coming or going, but I didn't feel it was right for some of the higher ups to be involved in soliciting us for the new company. If anyone was in the wrong, they were. They shouldn't have shared records and personnel information like that from one company to the other IMO.

Webmedx secondary accounts
If you take on a secondary account, do you bounce back and forth between your primary and secondary based on turn-around times, or do you get work from your secondary only if there's no work on your primary? I'm pretty sure it's the former, but just want to be sure. TIA.

stat every blessed report they do, so I always get those immediately. It is TAT, but your STM can explain it in more detail.
I have been trying to be patient but have been working on my secondary account so much lately, I am
starting to think it's my primary. Been in the business a long time and understand slow times, but this has been a chronic problem for many months, so I understand poster's point of view. Stick it out if you can, if not, there are lots of other companies out there, but remember, the grass is always greener on the other side and you may be sorry you jumped ship. Hopefully you can find somewhere that will make you happy and feel appreciated.

My secondary account has been slow for weeks
but they gave me another account, so I'm good. My primary account has also been pretty busy these past few weeks. I guess this is just a slow time of year.

Have a main and secondary and almost always have work, but.. sometimes after OT has been offered (like this morning) I have nada. Think I need to be assigned a third account or be put on as a helper somewhere. I suppose I ask my team manager, are we allowed to request an account that looks busy, must it be an account in her Book of Business like with MQ. Any info before I make the call would be appreciated.

I have 5 accounts with Webmedx. I am always running out of work on the weekends because like you said they call for OT and then there is nothing left for us who do work the weekends to type while everyone else is getting more money for OT. Not very fair. Like the other MT said beware of what you wish for. different accounts with different account specifics is sometimes more trouble than it is worth. Haven't had a full paycheck for quite awhile.
Holy Cow -- all 3 of my accounts have work. One even OT. The secondary (sm)
one had been particularly low for weeks now and today there is a massive quantity. I wonder if maybe that hospital was trying out another service and just sending us a small amount. Whatever the reason, the work, at least for now has picked up greatly.
We are having KFC for supper so I can get in there and get a few of those OT lines while they last.
Hope everyone else is having good luck with their accounts also.

I know when I hired on I was excited I could get days so easily, maybe we are just too many on one shift.
I agree, we need our own board where we can chat without being chastised for monopolizing the board.
I think the next time I run out I am switching to my part time job and trying to get back in here this evening.

I know that they have worked very hard to make sure that checks are never late and I can say that in the past two years, I have had one problem (2 days late) and in the past 18 months, they have all been on payday and perfect.
I know that there are a lot of hard feelings in MT in general. I also know firsthand (and I am not mgmt) how hard KS has worked to get things going good.
I would not want to walk in an MTSO's shoes for any amount of money, but that's just me. I like to finish my work for the day, forget about work when not working and get paid on payday. I never want the other things that go with mgmt or owning a company of any kind :)
They definitely rip you off with your line count. Figured this out long ago and quit long ago

What really sucks is that I looked for a LONG, long time -sm
before joining DRC - wanted a highly reputable, not-too-big co. that was LOCAL, and that treated its MTs humanely. I'm very happy with DRC & had planned to stay with them permanently.

no matter what is specified for requirements for the job, you would be surprised just how many people will send a resume. With all the jobs I have posted, I make sure I put the necessary requirements, i.e. foreign language requirement, absolutely no offshore companies, etc., and I STILL GET 100+ emails from people that have no idea what transcription is (yes, they actually put that down), Indian and Phillipine companies emailing, as well as the countless number of people that do not even remotely meet the requirements. I have even had some with gross misspellings!!! Can you believe that?
I hope this isn't harsh, but it can be quite frustrating just weeding through the resumes to find the ones that actually fit the bill.
It wouldn't surprise me that you have not heard from them yet - they are probably still weeding through the resumes. If you are qualified, then hang in there, I'm sure they will contact you.

The computers companies provide, whether they were crap or not and that appears to be gone as well. I did not identify a specific employer or anything. Having a failing computer and job hunting currently, I just wondered what you'd get but someone posted that it made sense for the company to send you a decent system so they could keep you working. I could see her point....a perspective I had not looked at.

The staff is great..really nice people..they paid me my s/o bonus even after I quit before my 60 days which I thought was great..however, if you do not like MedType or MedRite..forget it. Hey, when I got the 6 huge binders of paperwork with my PC..I knew I was in for trouble. It doesn't have to be that hard.

I just asked some questions about Transolutions on 1/6. There have been recent changes that affect pay and I am wondering if others are frustrated and worried as I am. I have been an MT for lotsa years and now feel like my QA has fallen drastically because of new higher standards, which have not been consistent either. Plus, you have to be very careful how many reports you put on hold, no matter the reason.

I can tell you that CW has been one of the strongest anti-offshoring activitists in the business. She wrote a long letter on the subject to the Atlanta Journal and I think even went to see the gov. of Ga. personally concerning the matter. She has urged her fellow MTs to get active in writing their state politicians about this issue. So if she's having to admit defeat, she didn't go down without a fight. Just thought I'd pass this on FYI.

now, after many months, but not too many are there yet. At 4 CPL, which is what they pay, that would be MAYBE 12 bucks an hour at the top of the editing 300 LPH. Nothing to brag about in my opinion. I make more straight typing. But those still at 200 LPH make less than a janitor.

People are not constantly calling you or bothering you. You do have to keep your schedule though. There is plenty of work. They don't pay for the template though.
