TransTech and Medware, are these companies considered large, medium-sized or small companies? (sm)
TIA
Wonder if those 30 companies Transtech just got
I really do not think Transcend expected this type of backlash from the MDI-MD MTs. Bet they are scrambling now to figure out what to do. Wonder how those 30 companies feel about being handed over to someone they did not negotiate with? How many doctors do you think are happy to learn new platforms? How many do you think are happy to find out their dictation might be going to India?
That is not real smart on Transcend’s part to lose trained MTs. They paid $16.2 million for 30 customers/accounts. They (eventually) will have already paid approximately $540,000 per customer. Those customers are expecting a certain product in a certain time period. The smart thing for Transcend would be to bring over every single MDI-MD MT/MLS at any price, keep them all on the same accounts, and make the customers super happy for at least a year. The alternative for them is to hire new, untrained MTs/MLSs, and spend days training them based on the current new account specifics of the acquired customer, hoping that it will not take too long for the new MTs to produce as many lines as the MDI-MD trained MTs did before. If reports are sent back late, full of blanks, or are a total disaster, that customer will be gone in a flash. Even if all 30 have to sign new contracts with Transcend, unacceptable work product is always a deal breaker, and they can get out of a contract in a flash if the work is not up to standard or done in the specified TAT. If that happens, Transcend not only loses those customers’ future revenues, but they just burned $540,000 each for nothing, and they now have a bunch of MTs with no work that they have to deal with. Any company that has stockholders has a bottom line, and that means keeping ALL the customers happy, at least until they have paid off their acquisition price.
I would think if all of the MDI-MD Transcriptionists banded together and demanded keeping the same wage, hours, etc., it would be in the best interest of Transcend to give it to them for at least a couple of years. I could be wrong, and probably am, since I am not a multi-billionaire, but antagonizing the people who make you the most money the fastest just does not seem to make much business sense to me. But then again, I am just one of those faceless machines who sit and hit the keyboard all day. HoHum
No. TransTech is out of Texas TTS is in New Hampshire. TransTech

Well I don't work for Transtech and this discussion isn't about Transtech...
and that is not age discrimination....give me a break...
Yikes.. That is only inline with companies like Focus and such. "Real" companies pay their MTs
decent rate. I make over 5 cpl editing. So, if I got that slap in the face, I'd be outta there.
Do the research...most companies, and not just MT companies, do not pay for maternity leave...
we get time off but not paid...and I really don't even understand the point of you posting this...
How do you know which companies are Nationals and which are smaller companies.
Is there a list somewhere? I'm new to this.
By "most of the companies", I meant MORE than MT companies.
clarification
Sten-Tel is the platform. Different companies use it, pay and how companies run are different. nm
:P
Nobody said MT companies were not for profit companies. (sm)....
As MTs we are an important segment of what it takes for the company to thrive, but we are still just part of the whole structure.
Not trying to be argumentative, just think sometimes we get that "I'm the quarterback" attitude and forget that we can't get anywhere without our line men.
Companies that outsource to other companies?
Anyone know of any reliable companies that will outsource to American companies and pay a decent line rate? I am amazed at what the companies charge and then want to offer in this business anymore.

TransTech has a job posting on the job board. I have talked with the person who hires (Debbie). She is really a nice lady. They have a M-F schedule listed.
TRANSTECH
Does anyone have any information good or bad on TransTech Medical Solutions?
TIA
TransTech
I've been with them just about 2 years, best move I ever made. The best advice I can give is to give them a call and talk to them. If they are as good for you as they are for me, you'll be a happy camper. Have never ran out of work, pay is decent and DD on time, they often offer VERY good, easy to reach incentives too. Happy MTing!
TransTech
Be very careful. The owner is a very moody person. I only lasted 2 days.
TRANSTECH
Transtech is a very good place to work. The "owner" is NOT moody. The people are the finest in the industry. They value their MTs. The are awesome to work with and for.
TransTech.

TransTech
I have been with Transtech for 1-1/2 years and it works great for me. I have 20+ years in this line of work and TT is the best company I have ever worked for (and I have worked for a couple of them). I have direct deposit and my pay has always been on time and accurate. I always have work (an abundance of it!!). TT is a fast growing company, adding new accounts, and very busy. They have a very good QA team who are very helpful. They hire USA transcriptionists only - NO offshoring. TT has an ad on the Job Seeker's Board and you can check out some of the things they offer. Also, here is the Contact Us link from their website: http://www.transtechmedical.com/ContactUs.html Good luck in your job search.
TransTech
They have a lot of ads for MTs, are they growing, or difficult to work for, hard to keep MTs. What is the story?
transtech
Yes, I was offered even more money from a smaller company, not national.
TransTech
Anyone have any info on TransTech. I have an interview today.

might you be an ex-MacGregor gal? if you are, me too.

Does Transtech pay for spaces, headers, footers, etc.

Give Transtech a try. I worked for MQ about 9 years ago only because they bought out a company I worked for. I only stayed with MQ a very short time after the buy-out. I now work for TransTech and they are a great company. You can contact them through their website at:

If Transtech pays 10 cpl for their difficult ESL account, does anyone know what the starting pay for the other accounts would be? TIA.
TransTech - sm
Do you know if they have radiology accounts? TIA
TransTech
I have checked the archives regarding this company but there is nothing up-to-date on there. I would like to know how this company is to work for, how their platform is, and overall if it is a good company to work for. Do they pay for spaces? What is their average starting cpl? TIA
transtech
i applied for them. i have five years experience and work at home. they told me i did not have enough experience
TransTech
I have been with TT for over 1-1/2 years and love it. Great bosses, good pay (always on time), good benefits, and I have always had work. It works for me !!

Poster below said mucho ESLs.

TransTech Medical Solutions (in Texas) does not offshore. It is a US company with US transcriptionists.
Transtech
Ask yourself this, what is wrong with companies who advertise constantly, are people always leaving or do they hire too many people? You can usually answer your own question.
TransTech
You'll hear positives and negatives on any company depending on individual expectations and experiences. As for myself, TT is about as close to a perfect company as one can find these days. Can't speak about insurance costs, I don't have the insurance. I've posted before about my experience with TT and don't want to bother doing it again. About all I can tell you is nothing ventured, nothing gained.
TransTech
The reason I said I didn't want to post my experience with TT again is I am totally disgusted with people like the poster above who says, baby, baby, sounds like management again. What?! Is there some law these days that says an MT can't be happy with the company he/she works for? So here goes.....First and foremost, I wouldn't know management if they jumped up and bit me in the butt. Don't know who owns the company, don't care. Don't know how many employees they have, don't care. Don't know what their accounts are other than those that directly affect me, don't care. Now from the above, you can conclude that I rarely hear from management unless I have a problem, then they respond promptly. The work is just that...it's work; there's good and there's not so good but it's there and I work as much as I want. The pay may not be the absolute best but it's fair and I average $25-$30/hour so no complaints there. The pay is always correct and direct deposited on time. Tech support is the best I've ever worked with. The platform is easy to learn and easy to use, no going between multiple screens or otherwise wasting time.
Now, Baby, Baby (above poster) if you have management questions, you should probably consider addressing them to TT management. If you have questions from an MTs point of view, you can ask me.
TransTech
I'm PT and speaking only from my own experience, they've bent way over backward to accommodate me. They have allowed me to be very flexible and given me just about anything I've asked for. By the same token, it's a 2 way street and when the need arises I do whatever they ask of me, whenever they ask it, to keep them in TAT. I wouldn't want to say for sure because I don't know but I would imagine they would accept PT and/or a split shift. I wish you luck and all I can say is if they work for you as well as they've worked for me, you'll be one happy camper. In between the *&%^* Company and TT, I think I stopped at just about every national and semi-national in the country before I found a company that suited me.
TransTech
Thank you for replying. Some lady posted that they took out $458.00 from her check, I thought she meant because of ExText. She was saying with ExText, you lose 30% of your line count?
Do you work for Transtech and what does DQS mean. Again, I had sent out a post on TransTech and what to expect if I went to work for them.
TransTech
Thinking of changing to TransTech. Does anyone know if their line rate is compatible and/or if they pay spaces, headers, and footers?
TIA!

I, too, just started with TransTech. What IS the policy for their line count. I don't think I can make 11,000 lines either. The only time I made line counts like that was when I worked for a hospital in Sacramento, CA, in the ER Department. I kid you not, I cannot remember ONE BAD DICTATOR. They talked a lot, were VERY CLEAR, each dictator had their way of dictating which did not take long to catch on to, etc. But my company lost the account. Why are ops the best report to do? Plus with the small font size and a LOT of numbering things at the left margin, I would hope they are not using the 65 character protocol. I could find the answer as I have the papers here somewhere, but it would take longer to find them than if someone already knows how TransTech's line counts work. So far, the dictators haven't been that good OR clear, the font is so small I have to zoom to 150% while I'm typing and then remember to take it back down to 100% when I sign off the job. Plus do you have to start from scratch with the loaded word expander, or is there some place that some shortcuts are already listed. With Smartype, a lot of shortcuts were already loaded. dd stood for adding ed to the end of a word, e stood for examination as that is the most common word used that starts with an e, etc. But I can't use Smartype. To buy an MS Word compatible Smartype, it will cost me $195.00, which is $195.00 that I don't have. I REALLY hope someone will answer me as I just started and would prefer hearing the bad news first.

They are pretty darn AWESOME. What do you need to know.
