Nandan has been told many times. He never has responded to

what he was told. They had a great team the Spring of 2004 and all left and what was left in management were the remnants with an owner of a co that they purchased from her, so she was it! Everyone else had to listen to her jibberish and kiss her b*tt!!
Good people got away, management caliber. Sad, but that's how they operate

Been told a couple of times I would
get one, 2 months later still haven't.
Numerous times I have been told our wages are lower because
we are now competing with (almost third-world) countries, who think 2 and 3 cents a line is a LOT. Therefore, to stay competitive, we must now work for a lower wage.
There are times there have been actual threats that we would lose our accounts, if we do not comply as hospitals would just take their accounts overseas.
Leaves a lot of room for corruption, i.e., whether it is true the hospitals would actually go that route (I think they might, considering CBay and how huge they are) or whether it is the MTSO duping us into accepting lower pay.
We are in a similar situation as in the 1800s (Funny you can almost substitute these people with 'MTs' and 'India', if you know what I mean:
(From Wikipedia) ...between 1830 and 1850, as the Industrial Revolution gave way to the Second Industrial Revolution, sweatshop production of inexpensive clothing displaced members of the tailors guild, and replaced them with lower-skilled workers performing piece work at lower wages and in inferior conditions. The trend away from tailors was accelerated by the advent of a practical, foot-powered sewing machine in 1846.
The terms sweater for the middleman and sweating system for the process of subcontracting piecework were used in early critiques like Charles Kingsley's Cheap Clothes and Nasty, written in 1850. The workplaces created for the sweating system were called sweatshops, and variously comprised workplaces of only a few workers, or as many as 100 or more.
In the sweatshop of 1850, the role of the sweater as middleman and subcontractor (or sub-subcontractor) was considered key, because he served to keep workers isolated in small workshops. This isolation made workers unsure of their supply of work, and unable to organize against their true employer through collective bargaining. Instead, tailors or other clothing retailers, would subcontract tasks to the sweater, who in turn might subcontract to another sweater, who would ultimately engage workers at a piece rate for each article of clothing or seam produced. Many critics asserted that the middleman made his profit by finding the most desperate workers, often women and children, who could be paid an absolute minimum. While workers who produced many pieces could earn more, less productive workers earned so little that critics termed their pay starvation wages. Employment was risky: injured or sick workers would be quickly replaced by others.
There you have it...Nothing will most likely be done until there is another type of revolution in this country.
It's not BS as you claim. They told me they do not hire PT. I have tried 3 times in 3 months.
I cannot work FT as I have a job at a hospital but they will not budge on saying no PT. I have read all your posts as I have been researching companies and it seems like you think you know more about KS than you do. You post something bad about every KS post but you don't give details, so I think you are BS.
but mgmt told me they outsourced some work to a small company at times.
There is no reason for me to lie about this.
I am NOT talking about offshoring, but the company whom they outsource to may offshore . . . I have no idea about that. But straight from the horse's mouth, they have outsourced to a small MTSO before.
You can notice how the work dries up all of a sudden when they turn it over to the service and we have no work.
TT mgmt may not tell that they outsource today, but they definitely told me about 9 months ago when I asked when the work was low. From the way the jobs disappear occasionally, I think it happens quite often.
A lot of times, if they need extra help, they will over 1-1/2 times our regular rate. sm
This is the equivalent of OT but you get it even if you have not done 40 hours already. I have also received AmerExp gift cards a few times for incentives offered. I think it depends on the account.
I do know for sure that they are working on an incentive program but I have no details and not even sure if they are still looking at it.
I do know for sure that I make more $$ with Keystrokes than I have ever made anywhere else.
Thanks to all who responded! SM
I will definitely ride it out, knowing about the time of year, and use it to build speed with the new work, etc. Glad I posted; I'm a better frame of mind now about the lack of work.
Thank you to everyone who responded!
I appreciate all of your responses to my dilemna. I will give it more time and hold onto my old job for now also. Thank you to everyone and Happy Holidays!
Thanks to all who responded....
Think I'll pass and not waste my time with the interview.
Thanks, I responded. :)
xx
Thanks so much to everyone that responded, I did
Go and apply with this company and received a *ticket.* I received a message that stated that they would be in touch with me when and if they started hiring and if I met their criteria, fingers crossed. Are you working for them now?
Thanks to all the wonderful MTs who have responded to the ads
as well as to all those who have been with us awhile. Sue and I, along with Wendy and Vikki, Nancie, Diane, Pat, and the rest of the staff are so grateful to everyone who helps make this a great place to work and a success. We are very happy that so many new MTs will be joining us.
I know I applied with them, and they never responded.
x
I responded privately, thank you.
.
I sent my resume and he responded
back with an email asking if I would be interested in testing. I emailed back and said I didn't mind and asked for their website. He emailed back with their website and said HR would be contacting me soon.
Guess I'll have to wait and see how long that takes! Good luck to you though.
Look further down this post. She responded
yesterday - Bright Universe.
Got your emails and have responded
Thanks so much! The information is truly appreciated. I sent you a reply via email, as well, and I hope you will respond. Thanks again!
Blackswan, sorry nobody has responded.
I have no idea about Orion, though I know there were recent posts here about them. Oracle has always had a negative response. I know I had signed on with them years ago and was so excited and thrilled. Then everything went wrong tech and set up wise. I remember I had to buy PC anywhere, something like that, and then never got my training, dates set and broken by them, etc. That seems to be the norm. Landmark - very low work volumes, and don't pay for spaces. MTs come and go regularly, as accounts seem to come and go regularly. I have always heard fine for PT, but not for full time.
I have not responded yet. It was suggested that
we should let them know when we were ready to train. I figure when It gets to the point when I am not getting my required lines for the pay period, I will left them know I need the training.
I responded for more VR and am getting less work sm
period on my primary account. I spend most times on my secondary and am just making the 11,000 line count per payperiod. I had been hoping to pick up enough extra to make the incentives but that is out of the question. My paycheck is really hurting. I can't work like this much longer.
I'm the person you responded to sm
the milk is for my daughter. Should I have just told her there is no milk and have her use water in her cereal? You are absolutely heartless to ridicule a situation like mine or any other person's.
To the person who responded RE: Key Transcription in ND
I looked in the archives and on MT Spot and didn't find anything. Did you work for them previously? If so, would it be okay if I emailed you? If not, could you possibly provide a link to any past threads about this company? I'd greatly appreciate it. I've been offered a position with Key, but I'm having second thoughts, especially since I saw your post. Thanks.
Sorry, I had not had coffee when I responded earlier ... sm
best of luck to you too. I'm sorry that you are having to go through all this. I think most of us just want to work hard and do a good job and be treated fairly by our employers. Seems so simple, but in my experience it has been hard to find. I'm moving on and hopefully will have found a better employer.
To Mary who responded by e-mail (sm)
Thank you. I tried to send a brief message back to you at your e-mail address twice but it came back. Thanks for the info.
okay, your emails finally came and I responded
x
They responded to my resume within 24-hours and
within 3 days of submitting resume I had an offer. I submitted resume through their website, was unsure if they were even hiring.
I can only assume that the company which has not responded is either of the opinion that (sm)
if you are seriously interested in the position, you will find a way to take the test -- wav pedal or not, or just haven't had time to respond yet. I've tested without a pedal and, while yes it is more time consuming, it can be done. As far as the dial up is concerned, I would think that if sent them an email requesting their system requirements, the information would be divulged, within a day or so.
Nice that they responded, but would've saved..sm
I get that they are relatively new, but with nothing at all coming up on Google search (not even a phone listing), it's understandable why people questioned. I still think it's strange there is literally nothing available online, even using her name and variations, but the address seems to be an office building of sorts, so that seems plausible.
Good luck to those who applied. I hope it ends up being a diamond in the rough. :)
I accidentally responded to wrong person
I got trigger-finger happy hehe
I emailed you before for info about KS and you have not responded. I am looking for information sm
on them, and you said that you had a reason for their high turnover. I am trying to make a decision this weekend. ***
Once upon a time, a surgeon responded to my concerns
The girls were tearing up the 3 surgeons up one side and down the other. And OMG, what they had to say about the office manager!!! I felt they were betraying the man who fed them. So...I went into his office and said, Dr., the morale is very low, the office staff are very upset, threatening to find new jobs and I thought it should be addressed during a staff meeting.
His response was: Do not pay attention to what they say. Venting is a necessary part of being a part of the work force (when you are an employee). The doctor brushed it off,did not want to hear the details and he did not really care who was the instigator. He felt that as long as they showed up on time, held up their end of the load and were pleasant with the patients (anorectal surgeons - ouch).
That office staff who whined and complained and ridiculed was with the surgical team for over 10 years - An RN, 2 front office, insurance cler and med Records gal.
Huge Bonuses (which say THANK YOU!) at Christmas brought momentary pleasantness but come mid January, they'd start again, feeding off each other, like a bunch of women at a Sewing Circle (have you seen the pic on this website depicting us as women in a sewing circle, dear?)
Bottom line - it is harmless. If money is there and then not there, without warning, a person who is not complaining about it is the one I'd be curious about.
I think you know what I meant. That is not the problem as I responded directly to her email.
I am sure that any other company that tried to respond to her also had the same problem. I know it is sbcglobal.net but hey, I am not on here to get QA'd. I in a very quick moment put up a message to an MT who wanted a job and did it very quickly in the middle of my busy schedule trying to be courteous and helpful.
Have a nice evening or was that eneving. :)
Don't know if they even exist. I live right here in NY and they've never responded to my resum
s
I don't hesitate to ask. Have been told "yes", and have been told "no." Never been to
:+
I e-mailed them and responded back almost immediately, offered low pay. 45 minute interview. nm
nm
Me too. I got cut off one too many times.
x
I can't tell you how many times....
this has happened to me! It's as if they either don't listen, or don't want to hear that you are only able to take X amount of work each day. Don't you feel taken advantage of? The only solution I've found is to leave the MTSO and keep looking for someone who will respect your requests. It's tough to bounce around like that, but I don't think your existing MTSO will change. Good luck.
I think so, although at times the
communication can be not so great. I don't know how many MTs KS has, though they seem to be growing so fast that the number is subject to change weekly, but there is still a small feel to it. The owner is fairly forthcoming with information, at least from what I have seen thus far.
Here are the times - SM
If your last name starts with the letter A through F: 10 AM
If your last name starts with the letter G through O: 11:30 AM
If your last name starts with the letter P through Z: 2 PM
You have said that 3 times...
Who are you trying to convince? If the hourly QCs were worried about quality instead of their own prestige and how much money they make, things might have been different....
Not at the times it happens. Not at all....
Anyone who has done this for a while knows that there are slowdowns around major holidays, like T-giving, Christmas, 4th of July. At my other companies, I did not run out of work on May Day, Cinco DE Mayo, Columbus Day...you get the idea. They overhire. Period. They have a right to do so. The MTs you lose due to that practice are the high producers with stellar accuracy ratings, not those who shall have trouble finding other jobs.
How many times can you do that?
It takes at least 90 days to get benefits at a new company. It is not just an easy decision to move on. If you can't get that concept then just skip the messages by the MTs who have every legitimate right to complain about these companies.
Why don't you think before you post such flippant answers?
In times like these...
Ya'll, in times like these, I tell myself. Self, the ink has already dried on the paper, nothing can be changed. There is no use getting heart palpitations/angina over it. From past experiences, most everybody knows what is going to happen. Now, I tell myself, when the time comes, you have to consider all the pros and cons from all sides and then make a rational decision. I remember when MQ went through this and all the hair pulling-out and teeth gnashing (myself included) that went on. If you cannot accept what is written in concrete, you (I) need to make a decision and go for it. In the meantime, I will put my nose to the grindstone, tighten my proverbial budget belt, and work as hard as I can and try and save some money for a rainy day.
P.
Again and I have said it many times sm
before......it has only become like this since the schools have advertised MT as a work at home job! Also those who only got into this profession soley for the fact of working at home......I really feel bad for you.
The MT profession is an honorable profession to be in. It is about the patients and never should have been represented as it has been in the last 10 or so years. This has what has brought it to the level it has become.
Tried to start with them 3 times
I was offered a position with them, gave notice in-house, then they called me the day before I was supposed to start and said the had lost the account. A similar situation happened 2 other times.
Times change. It's not about YOU, it's about
what the reality is today, not four months ago.
Congratulations on your windfall, though.
If you have doubts, email or call the person who hired you and they'll verify this.
last year I was down quite a few times because of
evacuations. Just decided to move out of Florida instead.
DISHONEST TIMES 2!
I transcribed 1,195 lines and ichart reflected only 154.08 lines the next day! I documented line counts every day, and for one pay period it was 2500 lines off on their end! - disqualified from benefits too. NO answer from supervisor.
This has been discussed many times over the last
few weeks. Do a search of this site and you will find many posts. You can scroll down or go to the second page and probably even the third page at the bottom and find posts from people who work there. I know I am very happy. They are a very nice company with excellent benefits.
I have said many times for two years
That I am with Medware, they treat me fair and keep me in work. The line rate is higher that MQ where I spent 4 years, the insurance coverage at Medware is $17/week for United Healthcare, the incentive plan is attainable, we get direct deposit every other Friday. They treat you fairly. Sometime I wish I did not read this board, but I still believe there are those who are looking for a better company and ask for information. I happen to like working for Medware. Calling someone an idiot is rude, I guess one must consider the source. Time to go to work.
RE work times
Yes, that would probably work. My experience was that they would download work to you at night and it was available that evening and through the next day. Like I said, you kind of make your own schedule within the window of time they need it back. You may need more than one doctor though if you want 6 hours of work per day of steady work. I had 4 doctors, one that dictated 1 1/2 hours a day and one that dictated every other day but had 5 hours of work each time. It varies by who you have for doctors. You can make them aware that you would like that many hours and they can accomodate it I'm sure. Only one thing you need to know though is NO DIRECT DEPOSITS and they use snail mail unless you pay to have it expressed.
I have answered that many times.
If you don't want to provide that info you don't have to but they don't have to review your incomplete application either.
