You have my sympathies. Webmedx was like that sm
for me. I worked there part-time for a bit, and no matter what I did, even with a power hour of no distraction, just focusing on transcribing, the BEST I could do was 260 in an hour, typing like the wind. In other places, that would have been 400 lines. I never could figure out what the problem was -- hope you figure out yours.
I used MedRite XL and it was AWFUL .. my sympathies. sm
I typed faster than the platform. It was slow and cumbersome. I wish I had some tips for you, but the best tip I can think of is try to find a company that doesn't use it. Sorry.
Good luck!
One of the greatest things about the SM
large companies is the fact that they don't have time to monitor public message boards. Why? Because they are secure in the knowledge that they are offering what they feel is a decent wage, decent benefits and working conditions. If they hire someone and it doesn't work out, they just see it in real terms--it wasn't a good fit.
Some small companies, on the other hand, are run by emotional people who are very insecure.
Not the greatest experience
I worked for Precyse for a good portion of last year. When I was hired I was told I had to accept a certain shift, no flexibility allowed (but wound up flexing my schedule most of the time do to lack of work). I was also told who my TL would be, turned out there was another TL for my account. Was told my account was a fair mox of 50/50 as far as ESL dictators - It was nothing but ESL dictators. Could never make my line count and would get scolded by QA quite often. I got a new TL every few months. Most were nice and had great communication skills, just had one who NEVER answered e-mails or IMs. Pay was not great, the hours I had to work were not good for me and I just had a lot of aggrevation working there.
Also, the new platform they introduced was awful. Hated it. That and the fact I had yet another changing of my TL were the reasons I left.
Just outside Des Moines BUT the greatest news is
I found another job, have loaded their software and start training tomorrow. No more picking up tapes. All digital and 2 cents more per line.
I worked for them also and the greatest office staff. .. nm
x
I agree, it's not the greatest, and I'm only saying that because of the spell check -sm
You don't have to do a lot of nonsense just to get started like you do if you're working with Lanier or Dictaphone. The only thing you have to take note of is your job#. And that you don't even have to if you don't want to, but it's recommended and I do it.
I personally count the lines myself and have found them to be 100% accurate. Of course these programs can vary, but the one I'm using is a good one and they're exact or, if anything, a little higher. I know I'm not getting cheated.
Hope that helps.
