If you ever made 14 cpl working 9-5 M-F, count yourself as lucky ever to have made that. I've been in this business over 30 years, and never saw anyone who made more than 13 cpl as an employee. Some might have done a bit better as ICs, but of course they don't have benefits.

The average line rate - throughout my time in the business - has always been something less than 10 cpl, and usually something between 8 and 9 cpl, with some people doing somewhat better and some people doing somewhat worse - say, a range of 7 to 11 cpl ON AVERAGE and depending on many, many factors. So if you made 14 cpl, you were either working for yourself, were an IC, or worked for a very unusual employer. That was certainly NOT the experience of most people in the field, at any time.

If 14 cpl is your criterion, good luck!
