Isnt their family medical insurance kind of high. I think that is
why I passed on them previously and they only wanted to pay 7.5 cpl for 12 years of experience.
Need current info on ETransPlus i.e. work load, line rate (ballpark), cost of benefits, SM
and overall treatment of their MTs. I found archived opinions but all old. Is anyone there now that can comment? Thanks!!
The insurance cost is double for Transcend but insurance probably doesn't factor in for her.
I have heard more good things about Axolotl than Transcend, although it seems Axolotl may be less flexible with your schedule and someone told me that QA was pretty strict, which should not matter either if you have worked for a hospital and know what your QA score is.
Is OSI's the cost family coverage fairly reasonable or sky-high? nm

Insurance cost
It all depends on where you live. I am in Florida and pay $450 per month for myself and 2 kids. It is different for other states.

Geesh.... I thought mine was high. Are you paying for family coverage or just you and spouse? And if you don'the mind my asking who you work for. You may replay by my email if you'd rather do that. I appreciate your reply. I will definitely not be looking into Acusis or All Type! Webmedx is a good company other than I thought their insurance was awful high. Up until last summer we had insurance through my husband's company, which was very reasonable as it was a large company, but they went out of business so he is now without a job and it's up to me to carry the coverage.

Insurance is no cost at all to my husband
and me thru teamsters, $20.00 copay when going to the doctor, PTO. That is the good part- now the bad- if he should die before me, no insurance for me. Well, since I am 10 years older, will possibly have Medicare before him, who knows??

Transcend insurance cost ?
Can anyone working for Transcend tell me the employee's cost for insurance? For example, how much per paycheck is taken out if you want to cover just yourself (no husband or dependents) for medical, dental and,vision (I have been told they offer all 3). Thanks for your answers.
For me the family insurance...
is high compared to my husband's insurance, but then again, his insurance is AWESOME, so I did not need the coverage. This is based where I live, and I am in PA. Their vision IS better than my husband's though so I did get that, and the dental coverage is not bad either, but again, my husband's covers ortho whereas they do not. Overally, they do have good benefits compared to other companies I have worked for. HTH

Unfortunately, I did not know about the rate, but I am staying to work more. I am not there for the warm fuzzies necessarily. It is nice. I am there because I can trust the boss to know who I am and that the boss will provide the lines for me to type so I can pay the higher rate. I am willing to work longer hours and stay. I could go elsewhere but I have been in every situation including hospitals where the boss is abusive. Believe me, there was not 1 place worth staying because I am here now. I am not sucking up, nor am I being kushy but as far as I know, this is the best choice for me and my family. I work at home, don't pay gas prices, get reimbursed for cable which is my commute, no one else does that. I don't have to buy clothes or lunches out because I work outside of the house. I don't have to pay for daycare because the boss worked with me and my scheduling needs. My goodness! They are not just warm fuzzy. They are business people who know that their profit goes up if the workforce is happy. Not their fault the cost of insurance goes up. Go talk to the insurance companies. Besides, I said several other times on here that this is not their final rate, they are working to come up with some other plan if possible.
So quit with the warm fuzzy business and make a check list of business facts of why this company is growing both in labor pool and clientelle. I am glad you are happy at your company but please don't speak for breadwinners of TT, because I do not like your speaking for me or about me. Thanks in advance.

Anyone pay less than $800 a month for family insurance?? I work for a small MTSO
and it's not like I make a ton anyway, but the insurance is so high for my family. I feel like I'm just working for the insurance. My husband is self-employed so he obviously doesnt have insurance through his job to provide this so it is up to me and I'm dying here. Any suggestions? We have tried individual plans but it is a fortune for high deductible and yucky coverage. I need to maybe find a larger company to work for where the benefits are a little better.

Medware insurance
Insurance for an employee is about $75 a month, they use United Healthcare, $250 deductable. I did not ask about the family plan. Also includes a prescription card. It doesn't start for 90 days but I am finding that pretty much everywhere. I just interviewed with them and I liked what they had to say, and the pay is better that where I am now. You have to commit to a schedule but I do that now. They have a bonus of 1/2 cpl if you type 12,000 in a 2 week pay period. Hope that helps, that is from my interview notes. I hope they make me an offer because they sounded like a decent company to work for. Good luck to you.

I'm not sure which insurance plan you have with them, but I pay around $400 per month for myself and 2 kids for a plan that has no deductible, open access to any specialists, and drug prices from $10 per prescription. Pretty reasonable, in my book.

I just want to remind everyone that the insurance coverage with a a company is very important, especially when single. Do ask about the deductible. Due to medical crisis, I faced 10 grand in medical bills which only added more stress to a very stressful situation. And, that basically takes 10 thousand off my yearly income.
Good insurance coverage means so much, especially when there is not a secondary ins. in place.

I don't take the medical insurance either BUT
Their other benefits are phenomenal. They provide LTD, STD, flexible spending account, 401K with match and they pay your vision insurance for the family. They have an awesome PTO rate and you get paid for downtime IF you run out of work, which doesn't happen very often. I can't remember the last time I was out of work.

Is the NWU offering medical insurance again?
I had great insurance at a great rate through them years and years ago, then they dropped it because the cost was prohibitive. If they are offering it again, I applaud them. They are a good union and very unconfrontational, well spoken (guess that's a mute point, eh?) but still don't have the big bucks it would take to promote the MT industry on the level that is needed. Almost every American MT would need to join and NWU would need to find a lobbying group to help.
