Hey all - I just saw this on general nonmedical job board.  I applied for a position like this with this guy about 6 months ago.  He had me take a test, which was about 30 minutes of dictation of a meeting with about 6 people in the meeting.  Wanted me to time stamp blanks and put laughter, etc., in quotation marks, etc.

This dictation was in the middle of a meeting.

I truly believe he is getting us to test for him by typing his dictation needs and never intending on hiring anyone for this job.  I think he is getting free dictation.

This is just my opinion of course, but I sure had a strong, sneaky suspicion about this guy.  Just thought I'd share.

Marilyn I received a contract from them too.  What did you think of the contract? Is it legitimate  Thanks a bunch  I have not had a chance to do a test file yet, have you tried one>'

I haven't had time to take the test yet either.  Maybe tonight.  I do other IC transcription and my main accounts come first.  Let me know if you hear back from them.  What kind of rate and so on.  Thanks for the replies.

Warning about Medline
Please be careful with Medline, a company posting on the Job Seeker's Board. They posted in February of this year for people to participate in a short-term project of a pharmaceutical/medical conference. I completed a 10 minute test. A few days later I was told I tested great, but the response to his ad was in excess of what he expected and there was no more work on the project. He offered me a contract for future positions, I signed it, but I never heard anything back. I have no way of proving it, but I suspect that all the testing was part of a project he was paid for. If someone does work for Medline currently, please correct me if I'm wrong.
