is higher, 8 plus the incentive. That is as an employee with benefits. I made a nice shift differential for awhile but went back on dayshift a few months ago so I no longer get that extra. The incentive is paid biweekly by direct deposit. I have had steady work since starting.

Line rate for Medscribe?
How much less per line was Medscribe's offer? I hear their pay is lower than most.
Any info about Medscribe, line rate, etc.? smsg
I checked archives but only found very old posts. Any new updates? Thanks.
A line is a line is a line. Doesn't matter if we are talking about radiology or acute care.
1600 is not a fair minimum requirement. Sure you can achieve 1600, it shouldn't be the required minimum.
Means a line is a line is a line, even if it only has one word on the line
it is considered a line.
"a line is a line" means gross line.
Gross line is a line, no matter how long or short.
Yes to old reports! Their ExText has all the regular functions except line counts are done on line
s
Thanks for the info! Do you *feel* like you make more with a gross line v. character line? (nm)
Oh, they make money off us. Line rate is 17 cents a gross line.nm

Keystrokes has very few accts on line using ExText. Most use Cphones/2nd line. Lots of Rad

Could someone help me with the figuring out of gross line versus character line? sm
I have generally been paid by character line, 65-character line. Now, I have had job opportunities offering to pay gross line but it like 3 cents cheaper than what I am being paid now. A few places I have read that gross line is MUCH better, but is it much better if the pay is so much lower? Please explain how it works or equals out. This position has offered me 6 cents per gross line - what would that equal out to in character lines? Thanks...so confused...
Spaces are not taken into account with gross lines....a line is a line...sm
if there seven words on a line.
or two
one
or a full line of typing...all of the companies that I have worked for define a gross line as 1 inch margins, 12 pt courier font....does not matter what we type in margins or font.....we convert all reports to the 1 inch margins and courier 12 font and then count the lines. not the blank spaces between the lines.
Hope this helps.
I left MQ for TT. The base line rate was less at TT, but overall I make more per line with the
shift differential (I work second shift) and the incentive plan (I have never once failed to make at least an extra half cent per line on incentives - most of the time a penny). I was scared to death to make that move, as I had been with MQ since back in the Transcriptions Limited days. I have to say, though, that it was the best career move I have ever made and I have never, not once, regretted it.
I hope that was of some help.
15 years ago, I charged .22 per line to big accounts. Now I have been forced down to .13 per line.
This is in part due to offshore companies, in part due to newbies coming in and underbidding to get an account but not being able to service it and then the account expecting everyone else to meet that price. The market is being driven down by many forces, and it is not pretty. I used to pay .14 per line (gross line too) and now pay my subs 0.08. It is not something I wanted to do, but something that was necessary. With only 15 MTs, I feel the squeeze more than some of the big companies out there, but cannot grow and keep up the same standards.
Healthcare in general is not the money-maker it once was, and transcription has taken a hard hit over the years.
Line counts - the lower the line count requirements
the harder the account and problems with trying to get production off the platform the company uses.
I see they pay on a VBC line. Isn't that a huge paycut from a 65-char. line with spaces? nm
x
Actually, SBC does allow it. I had my line changed to a business line and talked with a sm
supervisor who okayed it. As long as I am listening to voice files, and not one computer talking to another, faxing, etc., it is within their guidelines. :-)
Ask what is a line. I was offered 6 clp for a 42 black character line sm
that seemed to strange, but really it was not so bad. Came out pretty close to a 65 k/s line at 8.5 to 9.
That's MEDSCRIBE, sorry. nm

BEware of Medscribe......... Listen to this.......I've had Susan interviewing and calling me for three months on an Editor position at $17/hr. Well, after being told I did NOT get the job (even tho I was never tested), she had the nerve to call me back a week later and said the job reopened and she wanted me for it. I tried calling her and leaving messages for three days. She never returned my calls. I finally got ahold of her and she had the NERVE to tell me that the original person changed their mind and took back the position? Did anyone ever hear of this? So to all of you out there.......stay clear of Susan!!!!
Medscribe
SM, Yes it is all about me....it is about how all of us as potential hires should be treated. Besides, Ms. L did not even test for the QA position.....so the question is, was there really a position????
Medscribe
No, I'm sure she thinks ONLY about what is good for her not caring about how she plays around with other people. Sorry, but I don't have to take this kind of treatment and let her know it.
Medscribe
They're not the only one I've been working with one here in Canada and the same thing. I thought maybe it was me that was wrong but that's what they did too..mind you we got $1.50 to put up with it and work ha work we did or at least me!!!!
Medscribe
What's the story with these people? I tested before Christmas and never heard back (I know I did well). Today they didn't answer an Email. Should I keep on truckin'?

Things can change a lot in FOUR YEARS. I cannot imagine they would have been able to keep up that practice and still be around today. Maybe a person should simply ask them about the incident four years ago; you'd have nothing to lose and as an applicant, I would think they would HAVE to tell the truth about it. The problem is sometimes just ONE incident can get out of hand, repeated a little differently, and a different story could come out other than the real story. I'm not saying your friend didn't get paid. I'm just saying NO company could get away with this kind of protocol and still be in business.

anyone have a clue why Medscribe is constantly advertising for MTs?
medscribe
I don't know why, but whenever I post about this company it is not able to be found in the archives. I have posted many times about how miserable I was while working there. I didn't trust their line counter but I think worst of all was the way the talked down to me and scolded me for not making line counts which by the way... i normally could do but their accounts are MOSTLY re recorded and very VERY bad ESLs.... on top of a faulty line counter.
Medscribe
I did three weeks with them. Only filling in headers, sent to office where THEY input the macros (which we did not get paid for doing, of course) and I think I averaged about $3 per hr. A friend of mine got stiffed for her paycheck and they got threatened with illegal interstate activity because they were doing their business over state lines via phone. She got her money but it tooks MONTHS. This was a couple of years ago, but I don't think they've changed. Stay away from this place. The owner is a classical jerk.

I am interested hearing about your experiences there. I read the story about the gal who had to sue to get paid, and before I went to work there, I asked about it. They denied it vehemently, but in the proceeding 4-6 months, I had 2 checks that went missing. I really do not know if it was the fault of the post office or not, but I was not impressed. I also am not very impressed by the support system in place at this point, but would rather dish that privately.
I have been considering other employment because I always meet my minimum line count, and my quality scores seem to average in the 98% range, and I rarely take time off, but having only worked for HealthScribe (which I would almost take back right now) and MedScribe, I really don't know what a good company looks like. I am pretty specific at this point about what I want in a company, but it seems like they tell you what you want to hear and is not necessarily true.

Does anyone work for Medscribe and if so, can I get some feedback - considering working with them. Thanks.

Anybody working for MedScribe? If so, how do you like it?

I have never heard of this company. Where are they located?
Hope you find out the information that you need.

medscribe NJ
Does anyone have info on medscribe out of NJ? there seems to be one in Florida but would really like to know if anyone has experience with medscribe in NJ. Thank you in advance.
medscribe
Wow. I was just about to apply because their ad sounded good. I read the archives and realize I sidestepped a mess. I want to thank all of you for coming together and sharing your experiences so that others are forewarned.
medscribe?
Archives stuff is old, old. Sounds good - 12 hour time period to work. Please, anyone know anything?
MedScribe
MedScribe does only pays between 7 and 7.5 cpl full-time IC. There is an incentive bonus plan in place (if you are full-time) where if you fullfull all of your line commitments it is another 0.08 cpl, and they will place an additional 0.05 cpl for CMT status.

A family policy will run you more like $195 per week (dental and vision extra)for the $500 deductable plan.
I like it at MedScribe
So far so good, little over 6 months. Happy with the line rate and the insurance, my supervisor is very nice too. They must have added some accounts because I have heard they are hiring right now. I have not worked for the other 2 companies you mentioned, but did come from a rather big company and I like that I can call MedScribe and reach someone. Hope that helps.

Hello. Does anyone know if MedScribe in Jacksonville, FL, is a good company to work for? Also, on another note, have "they" decided to drop the hypen from "well-developed, well-nourished?" Thanks. LLD
I have been with MedScribe
they have been a fine company to work for. I liked the training and support from my supervisor is professional. I also came from a previous company that issued checks, so now having direct deposit is a blessing in my life. They are OK by me, I hope that helps. Good luck to you. Karen.
Medscribe FL
Anyone willing to share Medscribe's acute care line rate and what their average LPH are working at Medscribe? Thanks.
MedScribe
I started with MedScribe about 7 months ago and so far so good. They have a 12-hour window to do your work within, but that is for acute care work only I was told. The sign-on bonus is paid out $100 a pay period once you get out of training and up to speed, so that was nice too. I have seen emails where they are starting a new hospital account, maybe they are hiring. Hope that helps.
Medscribe
Sorry for the confusion. I should have been more careful before posting. It is Medscribe, FL.
MedScribe
I started with them almost a year ago, platform is easy to learn and you can use normals and templates for ERs, plus you are paid for all of them. I have the healthcare only, did not take the dental or vision as I pay that myself, but the medical is a nice policy.
MedScribe
Very happy there and like the flexibility. Hope this helps.
Medscribe FL - please
any relatively recent comments. ** I KNOW** I can search archives, but I would like some fresh input. Thanks in advance.
I have been with MedScribe for
I always have work in my account pool, they are super friendly and I like the direct deposit every other Friday. Big difference from chasing checks where I came from. I may also add you do not need a second phone line, the platform is all Internet. Karen.
MedScribe ER
The platform is easy to learn and the training is very good. I type ERs and they do ask for a schedule, but they worked with my needs and we came up with something that worked for both of us and I am quite happy. Benefits are about $37 a week and they are good, very low deductable. Pay is direct deposit and I have had plenty of work, good line count. I use InstaText and it converted right over so that made me happy too. Good luck, I hope that helps.
